Is there a difference with the Fruit of the Spirit of Goodness, as compared with man's sense of goodness?

The thing about the Fruit of the Spirit is that it leads back to the Tree of Life; thus it's giving is full of the abundance of life evermore. It leads back to Christ as the Source (Christ).
The fruit of the Tree of Knowledge has both good and bad fruit; and leads to death. When man partook of this tree of the knowledge of Good... certain kind of " Good" things come out of his being. Humanitarian deeds that are good, but the thing about these deeds is that they can result in vainglory, envy and provoking. They result in a kind of lust for recognition and a passion for a name of our own.

Why is it important to notice the words "no law" in the verses of Gal: 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self -control. Against such things there is no law>"

So what is meant by the verse, "against such things there is no law?"

Is there a difference between the kind of fruit found on The Tree of Life as compared to the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil... (please consider only the Good Fruit on the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.)

Is it true that doing good out of the Law always will result in becoming vainglorious, will lead to provoking, and even envy?
That the human being will always want some sort of recognition for his humanitarian efforts.

As believers, do we need to be saved by the Lord from carrying out good deeds based upon our own steam?
~ this is a long question, bear with me pls.

Man's sense of goodness is called by many as humanism - acts of kindness or goodness

without attribution to God for the framework or possibility to even consider doing this.

Such as do these types of deeds often are known to be self-righteous, even accusing God

of being unconcerned, arbitrary, and abdicated.

These humanist deeds tend to have the feel-good effect that comes with immediate

first aid treatment.

Save the whales, hug the trees, etc which are all excellent things to do.

However they are done solely for the furtherance of the state of this world. and

excludes God and His own people on this earth.

Immigrants are being admitted enmasse from ruined muslim tyrannies into first

world industrialized nations.

Christians from these same areas are persecuted or killed in refugee camps.

Study statistics on percentages of Christian refugees as compared to other.

It's a fraction.

So man's sense of goodness is only for the carnal being, the unconverted

natural man.

The fruit of the Spirit benefits all - does good in the land, prays for government

leaders, for peace in the land and the freedom to worship Christ.

Yet the Bible is quickly being castigated as 'hate speech'.

The fruits of the Spirit are also what provides the salt of the earth and any

spiritual light also. In other words, the fruits of the Spirit as borne about by

believers in Christ, are the very substance of what keeps the earth going.

Without these energizing and preserving characteristics, this earth would

be far darker and devoid of flavour, dull and in a complete state of dearth.

Good question. As to the main question, no, I don't believe there is a difference in "goodness", whether it is a gift from God, or our own sense of good. Yes, there are certainly degrees of ability to accomplish, but if we are to take God at his word, we are "made in his image". We may not always act good in a world influenced by the Fallen Kingdom, but we certainly know good when we see it and consequently, when it is lacking. Humans can do good.

Rather than trying to be good on our own though, when it's a gift from the Holy Spirit, it becomes part of our "heart", our character, as we become more like God.

As for the often misused verse from Psalm 14, that there is no one good, I would keep in mind that this is from a song of David, in the penultimate Old Testament. God's lectures to Israel about their behavior are not across the board, forever truths.

In answer to the part about what "against such things there is no law" let me just share the same verses from the Message. It makes the whole thing much clearer.

Gal 5:22-24

22 But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard — things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, 23 not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way.

Again, good question!

The two trees are a contrast. The tree of knowledge... regardless of whether you believe any of its fruit to be "good" the fruit of that tree is death. There is a certain level of "good" that a man can do, but it is limited. The real issue of good and bad or evil (fruit) has to do with intent of heart. Note that Scripture plainly states that "there is none good, no, not one." Further, a good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. It all comes down to a heart problem, and the need for people to have a new one, that only God can provide. No matter how hard you try to do good things, you would still be deemed evil by God due to the heart you were born with. Once you have the new heart, and the new motivation of heart to go with it, you then can do good, because God in you is good.

A person can live a more loving and virtuous life by reciting daily and with care the angelic psalter of the Virgin Mary. She is the spouse of the Holy Spirit.

What a complete load of crap. It sounds like you have distanced yourself way away from reality, sad to say. Maybe with therapy and education you can find your way back someday.

Great question but please bfeak it up for Yahoo. Maybe Quora is fine. So you're ON re goodness.

Is not our 'goodness' always somewhat tainted?

The GOODNESS OF the Spirit has zero in it for me, anytime, may work against me.

I haven't had that PURE GOODNESS experience. Always agenda on some level.

So the Spirit's goodness has no personal motive.

Often others don't see this in me but I look, I see it.

Yes, we or I need to pray for the Lord's goodness.

Only then are we free. Only then is my trust totally in Him.

Until then, doing it myself, and it's frustrating, tiring.
