Question:
Spiritually speaking, is my computer haunted or bedeviled?

I am asking this here because I am on R&S more than the other sections put together, and I suspect will get more answers here. But this is, for me, a serious problem. I am now on a different computer than the one I usually use. My computer is to the point it is taking almost half an hour to load one new tab in Mozilla Firefox. I have one window with four tabs open. According to Windows Task Manager, Firefox is using close to 500,000K memory and it seems to be climbing as I am using it, though slowly. This computer, a laptop, is roughly equivalent to that one, both dual core processors, 2 gig of ram, Windows XP Pro. But this one has six Firefox windows open with roughly 60 to70 tabs open altogether and is using only about 150,000K. This one is loading new windows and tabs as quickly as mine used to do just a few weeks ago. Over the last few weeks I have repeatedly cleared all private data, rebooted, ran about a dozen different virus scans, everything I can think of doing. I am getting tired of it taking so long and at times being unable to edit an answer I have promised I would. Anything else I can try? If it is reinstall Firefox, is there anywhere to get version 3.0 still? I do NOT want 3.5 or whatever the newest is. Thanks!

You dumped your cache, defragged and did all the other fiddly stuff already, right? Oh, you can still download 3.0 here -----> http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/4288/

I think it's cursed. You may have to sacrifice a virgin to the gods of networking while dancing naked to the flickering of your screen saver. If you work in the computer industry or know someone who does, you can't swing an empty beer bottle without hitting one, so that shouldn't be problem. (Just look for the person with the most Star Trek action figures - that's the real deal!)

If your computer is evil, so is mine. It was in the repair shop (with a 3 yr warranty) 4 times by January. Sadly, this is a true story. It was hand built to my specifications too. It has super cool gamer computer potential, but I did not need that much memory or video card type stuff.

Now does this matter if I am Catholic Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Atheist? I'd like to know the statistics.

PS. this particular computer repair shop has a cute puppy dog on location! : )

I don't think they are Evil per se, but maybe I'm just bad luck? with electronics? I never EVER DL any music or videos. (It's stealing. plus you get viruses that way!) How does my CPU even catch a virus with the $79 very nice anti virus program that was recommend by the computer guys (but they get no money for the referral.)

Looks like Foxfire either picked up a leak or just got bloated.

Or maybe it does have a daemon!

I have a Firefox 3.0 setup executable, but it's only 8 megs, so I don't know if the data it's supposed to retrieve is still out there. If you want me to try to email it to you, send me your email address.

XP is no longer supported by Microsoft...you know that last update you got? Self-annihilation from Microsoft to encourage you to buy buy buy Windows 7, a seamless platform that will kill your laptop screen, but allow you to use another screen if you plug it into a usb port!!!!

Spiritually conversing, i think of we are all spiritually conversing as quickly as we spiritually communicate. except of direction, we are spiritually spiritually thinking conversing. Then they form of bypass one yet another out. you ultimately finally end up a place corresponding to Limbo. some call it The White Void. some call it Ponderosa. Spiritually conversing, of direction.

I will do an exorcism if that will help.
