Question:
End of the world?
2006-09-09 13:56:26 UTC
I read somewhere that the beginning of the end of the world will come when the world is seized by lust for material lust, nations turn against each other, people mistrust authority, religion and faith is cast away and it is then that the Judgement is supposed to happen, when Jesus returns in order to judge the world, as described in Revelation.
Don't you think this sounds like the [present world situation? When will the Saviour return?

Dear fassa,

Everything that you read in Matthew 24 and Revelation is occurring at this time! Yes, we are in the Great Tribulation at this time... However, most of what pastors and priests and theologians have taught concerning the "end" is totally erroneous! They have taken the Bible literally instead of spiritually, because the Bible is a spiritual book. I can aaure you that you are not going to see the waters of the earth turn to blood or serpents flying around biting people! Christ spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 34), and because He is the author of the entire Bible, you will see parables throughout the Bible. God even utilizes historical events, that are completely true, and uses them as metaphorical stements. Needless to say, one must find the spiritual meaning of these Scriptures. I can give you alot of information but just go to the website that I list at the page bottom. You will be able to download and print all of these booklets on your computer or just read them off the computer. May I suggest these titles, "The End Of The Church Age And After", "Time Has An End", "Wheat And Tares", "What Must I Do To Become Saved?" to name a few. The Bible tells us that no man knoweth the day or the hour that the Lord will return but we can know the year.... God told Noah when the flood would come (Genesis 7). God told Lot when He would destroy Sodom and Gommorah (Genesis 19). And from everything that we see in the Bible, it looks as though Christ may return in 2011--exactly 7000 years after the flood of Noah's day (@ peter 3:5-10).

well i don't know about that but i do know that this planet has gone completely mad in the last 20 years especially. I am afraid for the future of this planet and the future generations. i do not believe there will be a 'judgement day' because i believe that eventually (considering the way society as a whole behave now) there will be no nice people on the planet because people are becoming selfish to the core that earth will be 'hell' . Remember there will be no oil left soon and no fossil fuels. the sea levels are rising and if the global average temperatures go up by another 3 degrees we are in real trouble. It wont be long will it? .....

Pretend you are in school. You are listening to a lecture from you teacher, professor, ect., and you hear the same phrase repeated multiple times. Common sense would tell you, "Hey, this must be important. I'd better write it down; keep it in mind". Working on a similar level, Jesus obviously repeated that He was coming soon! With that in mind, and also the warnings and signs that prophecy provide, we do know that this chapter in history-the church age-is quickly coming to an end. However, although we have signs to look out for for the second coming of Christ, the rapture could happen at any moment, with no forewarning. That is why we must always be ready. God bless!

Revelation 22:7

"Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."

Revelation 3:11

I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

Revelation 22:20

He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Revelation 22:12

"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

When have people not been obsessed with the want of material items? In the crusades, world wars, etc. nations were turned against each other on a grand scale, and religion is still very popular. Why would anyone assume that our time period is any more special than previous periods? He won't return, seeing as he has been dead for a very long time.

Mat 25:13

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (KJV)

Mar 13:32

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. (KJV)

Mat 24:32-33

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. (KJV)

No one knows but God when will be the time of Jesus return, but we are meant to know when it is near. I, like many Christians believe that the Biblical "End Time" signs & prophecies concerning Jesus return are comming to pass.

I believe that "this generation" will see the Comming of Jesus as the Lion and not the Lamb.

You describe pretty much the state of humanity throughout history!

Which 'saviour' are you referring to? People have been crying on saviours though out the aforementioned history. Where was the saviour, just to pick one example, during the Nazi holocaust? Oh, hang on, you mentioned Revelation, so it must be the Xtian Saviour you are talking about -well presumably, he was looking on chucking, because according to the infamous blood libel, the jews deseved everything they got!

Maybe salvation will finally come when we realise there are no saviours, no messiahs, no god, no judgement.

Only us.

Each time that we lost someone or something very important in our lives the world is over... But, the traditional end of the world so waited by a lot of strange peoples, this I dont believe that´s a true, this is just another foolish story to make the ox to sleep.

Matt 24:14 says that Jesus will return to take His people to heaven after the gospel will be preached to all the world; all nations. That is probably about to be fulfulled. The gospel is being preached in all countries of the world already. Maybe in less than 30 years Jesus will return the second time. Are you ready to be saved from this sinful world?

Anyone who actually tries to tell you when Jesus Christ will come back will look a fool. The reason being Christ himself said he would come back as a thief in the night and that it was not for us to know the times and the seasons that are in the fathers hand.

Having said that, what are you doing to prepare for the return of Christ? Are you born again of God? Have you accepted Jesus as Lord? Are you teaching God's truth to others so they can prepare?

We should not spend our time worrying when the end will come, but busy ourselves doing what God wants us to do so that when the end does come, we can say we did our bit for God.

It sounds like the entire history of mankind.

Today seems no different than any day in the past 5000 years. We just happen to posses the technology to get more news faster, so it appears that evil had increased in the world.

Your Jesus will not return - Save Yourself!

You are your own saviour - Think For yourself and throw away the Bible, as it is a book for children & lost sheep.

According to the The Gospel of St Thomas -

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in mansions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there -- lift a stone and you will find me"...

The beginning of the end of the world must have started a awfully long time ago, in fact from the time humans arrived on earth, for when was it NOT as described in this passage? since time began.

As it was in the days of Noah when he was building the arch , people mocked him until one day it started to rain and they were all surprised...but it was too late . If you look at our world now , yes we are living the end time. The rapture of the church is imminent. People continue to mock God, and choose not to believe because its less convicting...until it will be too late.

I hope that you gave your life to Christ as i have ( after being a muslim for 20 years)...

The end is near

A lot of people think Jesus will be back soon. I don't know, because we aren't supposed to worry about it, but to stay obedient to Jesus and keep doing His work so we are busy when He comes back. No slacking off just because He might be back tomorrow!

Only God himself knows when the world will end. This is what the bible teaches us. It will be on the most unexpected day at the most unexpected hour. So if youre expecting it right now, it aint gonna happen yet. Youre correct with regards to events though........but what is soon to us is completely different to what is soon to God!!

the end of the world will be decided when we destroy ourselves. we won't have to wait for the return of christ. he will get here and we will all be ashes in the aftermath of nuclear holocaust.

but never mind. just relax, and enjoy a nice pint of Guiness and wait for the radiation to find its way under your door... "We have all... the time... in the world..."

Note in Psalms the meek will inherit the earth!

Also that the earth will not be made to totter.

Also in revelation, that God will pitch his tent with mankind!

The world will go through some rough times, but corrupt people and governments will be destroyed.

God is allowing us to turn from our wrong doings, and he will wait until the last person to turn to him does so, and then all the prophecy's in the bible will happen. God loves people, and wants them to turn to him through Christ. This is his word from the bible.
