Question:
Christians: I need help.. I am new to Christianity..?
2010-06-08 03:40:11 UTC
Hi,

I need a Christian to guide me, and show me who God is, and I also need to talk about my problems, if you a Christian can you please email me & we can talk?

I want to get involved in Christianity, but you see I go to a Christian school (just started) and they are way ahead of time, I sometimes don't know what they mean.. I need to learn the basics first.

Regards

hello fellow Christian, and welcome to the family of God!

my friend, pick up the Bible and you will soon know what they know and maybe even more. the Bible is what Christian teachings are based on. start with Jesus' words in the New Testament. many people will advise you start reading with the book of John, as it is easiest to understand.

my e-mail is open if you have any questions, though it may take me a day or two to get back to you, as my on-line time is limited. may the Lord give you understanding as you study His word, and bless your life.

P.S. Girl from Rivo, everyone who comes here daily knows you are lying. i just looked at your answers to see if you've had a change of heart and became a Christian, but evidently you have not, and yet you try to get this person to e-mail you so you can mislead them. wow, that's a new level of evil even for your kind. shame on you.

Well, it is easy really. All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and be baptized. You don't need to do anything right away. Just tell people that you are new to christianity and are learning about it. You can go to a christian church near where you live and tell the minister that you are new to christianity and are attending a christian school. He will probably tell you what sunday school class to attend. Which will give you the basics of christianity and specifics of that church. Every church denomonation is different. But, none is wrong about christianity, just different. A lot of people that are not raised in a church find the larger denominations easier and more excepting than the smaller denomination. The exception would be the catholic church. With approximatly 2000 years of history it can be a real challenge to learn everything they teach unless you are born with it. Baptist, Methodist, and Christian Churches are all large denominations that don't have a lot of specifics to learn. They will probably give you a bible. It is a good Idea to read it slowly and think about what it writen. My favorite verse is John 3 verse 16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life." That verse pretty well explains christianity. I do believe that Jesus lived and that he died to forgive my sins. We are all sinners. Even though I am a christian I sin everyday. With my thoughts and with my actions. But, knowing Jesus on a personal level makes me a better person, and when you know him on a personal level you too will feel and be a better person.

LOVE- Welcome to the family of God!

I'm so glad you want to increase your faith, but R&S may not be the best place to ask questions

There are many here who will not be helpful.

I would suggest searching some basic Christian sites- check out

http://www.carm.org/

this is a great site packed with good information and videos

I will try to email you

remember to keep your focus on Jesus- He will never lead you astray:)

I would be happy to help you out, but you need a face to face mentorship. Talk to some teachers at your school. They should be able to help you out.

The important thing to remember is to get involved. If you have some questions, you can contact me. I would suggest you stay away from R&S for now, because there are too many trolls here.

Ask for the Holy Spirit. He will guide you as He is guiding me...

Ask the religion teacher for help. Stay after school for tutoring for a while.

Join a church and it's bible study group. I'm catholic and joined a group 6 yrs ago. I was lost at first because I had only read parts of the Bible while I was in school. Now I'm up to date and still learning. It's always a learning experience. I don't know which church you joined, but talk to people there and see what advice they give. Good luck and welcome

Here's a link to my favorite little book, usually known as "Steps to Christ." It's also online as audio.

E-mail me for more. (Go to my profile and send a message.) God promises to give wisdom freely to anyone who asks. Jesus promised not to turn anyone away. You have a bright future!

How did you fall into that trap without being raised in a Christian family? I feel sorry for you.

instead of relying on one person so heavily, I think you would be better off going to a church in your area and getting to know the people there, and starting a beginners or basics class there. find a non-denominational church like a community church or god or an evangelical free one, and ask them for help. ask your school for resources as well, tell them what you told us.
