GLADSTONE, Ore. - A 16-year-old boy who, along with his parents, believed in faith healing died as a result of an inflammation in his urinary system that is treatable, a deputy medical examiner said Wednesday. The boy, identified by authorities as Neil Beagley, was suffering from an inflammation in a tube leading from his bladder - the urethra - that made him unable to urinate, according to Dr. Clifford Nelson, a deputy state medical examiner.

Beagley filled up with urine, and that eventually ruined his bladder and kidneys and resulted in heart failure, said Nelson, who called it "an absolutely horrible way to die."

Such a condition could have been treated with the use of a catheter, Nelson said.

Why did the god not listen and help. Could it be that his parents are not true Christians?

beacuse there lazy asses are brainwashed into blind faith and would rather just sit there and pray to there imaginary friend instead of taking there sick kid to the hospital.

A very sad story. God doesn't do what we tell him to do. His parents should have taken him to the doctor. There are some religious people called Christian Science that don't go to the doctor and JW's refuse blood transfusions. There are beliefs that if you have enough faith a snake bite won't hurt you, not my cup of tea. There are a lot of people out there who are easily taken in. People need to examine their faith. The Bible tells us to beware of those that would mislead us.

a better question is why didn't the parents take him to the doctor?

after reading the article, they sound like a cult.

God gave doctors the knowledge to help people but he wont force people to use their brain and go.

put the blame where it belongs,ok.

not on God but on the parents who didn't take care of their child.

If your car is damaged, do you take it to a mechanic or wait for God to perform a miracle and heal your car?

If the plumbing in your house bursts, do you wait for God to plug the leak, or do you call a plumber? God is just as capable of repairing a car or fixing the plumbing as He is of healing our bodies.

The fact that God can and does perform miracles of healing does not mean we should always expect a miracle instead of seeking the help of individuals who possess the knowledge and skill to assist us.

Well, I don't know about the parents being true Christians, but I can say for sure that they're true idiots. Their idiocy has led to a preventable death. That poor young man, and his poor niece. Two lives needlessly wasted due to bizarre religious beliefs. Where are the cult deprogrammers?

God did listen and help. He made doctors, nurses, medicines, and medical procedures available to them. It's not His fault that they didn't avail themselves of that help.

Reminds me of a story I heard once. A man lived in a town where a flood was coming. A truck came by, and the men inside the truck said to the man, "Get in, and we'll take you to higher ground." But the man declined, saying, "No, God will save me."

Later the flood came, forcing the man to the 2nd floor of his house. A boat came by and the people on board invited the man on. Again he declined, saying, "No, God will save me."

Later the flood waters rose higher, forcing the man on to his roof. A helicopter hovered over and dropped a ladder down to the man. Again he declined, saying, "No, God will save me."

Finally, the waters swept the man away, and he died.

He stood before God, and said to Him, "I don't understand, Lord. I was counting on you to save me. Why did you let me die?"

God replied, "I sent you a truck, and a boat, and a helicopter. What more did you want from me?"

We are so much desiring the earthly limited life so that we do not think or desire the heavenly one. Many times the loving Lord prefers for us to go right away to the ture life coming that the son may step to it before his parents. But we know that no life nore death can seperate God's children from Him. Praise His name

God did try to help him , he gave them doctors to save his life. Sham on the parents for not seeing this sooner. Faith healing is a very bad teaching among some divisions..

His parents are horrible and deserve to be put in jail. How could someone let their own child die for their beliefs?
