Genesis 1:6-8

6Then God said, "Let there be an (M)expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."
7God made the [c]expanse, and separated (N)the waters which were below the expanse from the waters (O)which were above the expanse; and it was so.
8God called the expanse heaven.....

Please do not tell me its the clouds as clouds were formed from the water below. Airplanes can fly above and there's not water at all...so where is this water above and also the expanse that was called the heaven?

As for non-believers...there is really water above...you can use science if you want as its better explained in science rather than using the bible which would not answer this question.

Yes as a matter of fact I can. It is all in a book that I wrote which covers this topic very well and precisely. You can accress this book totally free on my web site The book is called THE FORGOTTEN TRUTH.

It's not there any more. Many scientists believe that there was a crystalin canopy that encompassed the earth. I believe (would have to go back and research) that it was frozen, liquid nitrogen (hydrogen?), about 3 feet thick. It would have filtered out harmful ultra violet rays that shorten our lifespans today.

There is actually a Japanese scientist who has studied this theory independent of creation scientists and he has come up with some fascinating results that answer a lot of questions about the prediluvian world.

Much more to this than what I can share here, but you can find much more information on the internet or at Christian book stores. Try "Dr. Carl Baugh" in your search engine, it will give you a good place to start.

You're reading a description of the antediluvian world and trying to figure out how it applies today. This is an exercise in futility. Just as it would be futile to try to find the Garden of Eden based on the description in the Bible. The rivers mentioned are long gone and/or have long changed course.

The water above the expanse was a canopy that existed above the sky. The earth was a lot like a greenhouse then. It was watered by underground springs via a mist. (Genesis 2:6)

During the cataclysmic flood of Noah's time, this canopy was destroyed, and the water therefrom contributed to the worldwide flood. The springs from underground also burst forth, which, over time, caused the single continent to become several, drifting apart. (See also Genesis 10:25).

I hope that helps!

The water's not there any more, it made the earth like a greenhouse and there was probably Dino's back then. It all changed after the flood of Noah and I think the water that surrounded the earth is what God was talking about when he opened up the floodgates of Heaven.

That is the way it was in that time

as the earth became corrupted God

moved Heaven where we do not know

the waters watered the earth from Heaven

heaven was near the earth then

and now it has been moved so we will never know

Genesis 7:11 is the only Biblical verse I can think of that alludes to where these waters went. Apparently, it was a whole lot of water.

The waters above are no longer there. Some people think that they were released on the earth during the Flood.

funny, the sattelites, telescopes, and PEOPLE up in space havent seen any water. there is a deep space probe that is ttravelling away from us constantly, millions of miles away now, going thousands of miles per hour, and still no water found. to me, saying that there is "water above" is saying that the earth is flat. it obviously isnt
