Why do so many try to deny the recent cluster of earthquakes are part of the signs?

Matthew 24:1-14, Mark 13

Are the signs of the last days not clear?

Seismologist's agree that recent earthquakes are the biggest for hundreds of years as well as claimers as more lives, don't they?

The biggest Earth Quake ever took 830,000 lives(500 years ago). It wlll be a long time before we reach that with the number being taken today.

3 of the biggest earthquakes in the last hundred years happened in 8 years in the 60's all in Alaska. I bet people said the same thing then.

Do they?

The one in Japan is the biggest on record for them, but, their records only go back a little more than 100 years.

The day of the earthquake in Haiti, there were 2 even bigger ones that almost no-one knows about, as they happened in places where buildings are not built very badly, and they did not fall down.

I have yet to hear any seismologist say these quakes are out of the ordinary at all. The Japanese one was big, but, they get literally thousands of quakes a year: they are bound to have a big one now and again.

Earthquakes and other natural phenomena have been happening for centuries and each time something big happens a cluster of people start carrying on that these are signs of the end of the world. If they were, the world would have gone extinct many times over by now. When things like the earthquake and tsunami in Japan happen it's important for us to review our understanding of the dynamic nature of our planet. For this we must turn to science. God does not cause earthquakes or floods or volcanic eruptions. They happen as a normal part of the life of our fragile planet.

Well, people say it for a very simple reason. That is, the earth has ALWAYS experienced earthquakes and big storms

Seismographic records do not go back that far into history, so we do not know about earthquakes that happened 1,000, even 500 years ago. But, we do know, from written record, that there have been many deadly earthquakes throughout history (among many other devastating events, such as disease and famine and war).

Physical events do not teach us reliable, spiritual truths. We cannot trust that the recent events are signs from God, for God does not tell us to look to the world for Truth.

He tells us to watch, and we do not watch in the world. We watch in God's word. God's word is where we find truth, not by seismology and guess work.

So, one must look towards God's word for answers, and when one does look into the Scriptures and studies them carefully, in prayer, they may see the truth that God has to reveal. In fact, in our day, since we are so close to the end, God has revealed a lot of information concerning the timing of the end.

God is now warning His people that the first day of the Day of Judgment will be on May 21 of this year. The Bible is assures us this is true.

But, it is not because the world has revealed it, but God has revealed it in His word.

Because they're not.

"[Seismologists] agree that recent earthquakes are the biggest for hundreds of years as well as claimers as more lives, don't they?"

No.

What's up with this kind of Q's , crawling all over YA R&S

Is it troll night happy hour or something, boring and btw

I have many troll-o-meters broken tonight, thank you

Peace

Edit Anyone thinking they're being cute or wise for abusing

the recent disaster in Japan to further their agenda, fun or whatever

is just really sick and should seek counseling.

This has been the last I answered, won't even look at any 1 from now on

I suggest healthy people do the same

Peace

Citation for this statement regarding seismologists?

Because I'm pretty sure that the USGS said that the number of seismic events have been steady for all of recorded history; no upward trend has been noted.

I'm not gonna pretend to be a geologist and explain about the earthquake clusters. But I will tell you this: earthquakes kill many more people today than previously because there are many more people alive today than previously.

To the end timers I think stubbing your toe is a sign of the apocolypse...earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, even a plague hasn't brought it about yet...don't think a couple earthquakes is really a sign of anything more than the earth releasing energy.

Actually the one in sendai which is the biggest recent one is only at best a one in 20 year earthquake.

Right, because large clusters of earthquakes have NEVER happened before. [/sarcasm]

An increase in quake activity does not equal "end of the world."

this is how how plate tectonics work.

the earth has always been a violent place.

I don't need some iron age holy man to tell me this.
