Question:
Why are atheists always so terrified by Christians who KNOW & SAY what they believe!?

Why not simply do what God requires? Confess your sins to God, truly sorry for offending His love for you, and ask His forgiveness. He will! Turn from your sins and turn *to* God, proving your repentance is real. Trust Jesus took the punishment on a cross your sins deserved. He delights in forgiving all who ask, as often as they ask, even empowering you with His Holy Spirit to do what He commands. Otherwise, if you lose eternal life, it will have been by your own choosing.

They are not terrified, even by threats of hell and damnation but like GOOD christians and all decent people they abhor the conduct of BAD christians like yourself that are destroying christianity from within by your appalling unchristian attitudes and behavior!

Why so blind to what causes the backlash against christianity?

ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD christians which causes all GOOD christians to despair at the damage they do!

Up until about 40 years back Christianity was thriving and there was no conflict with others but in just those few short years the modern christians have become intolerant, hate filled, bigoted and persecuting resulting in a growing backlash against christianity and causing christianity to loose over ten percent in less than a decade with the loss accelerating!

The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it!

Posts like yours that drive people further away from God are driving you towards hell.

The darkness flees from the light.

John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

No matter how pitch black dark a room may be even the light from a tiny pen light will be seen. Atheists try so hard to bring Christians down because they don't like the light of the truth. The truth is light which exposes the evil and ignorance and irresponsibility that they love to bask in. Therefore it frightens them.

We're not terrified, we're mystified...

Really, read what you just wrote. Now replace the words "god" and "jesus" with "santa claus" and "the easter bunny." Now try and prove to me that what we have now said about santa and the bunny aren't true. Really, what could you say to make this seem any less real than christianity? You could say that santa and the easter bunny are just fairy tales we tell children to convince them to be good, but then you'd understand what mystifies me about how strongly you believe your own particular brand of fairy tale. Had you been born in India, you'd be a Hindu. It wouldn't make Hinduism true, it would merely make you a believer in it. Same goes for your religion. It is one of many thousands that claim to be the "one true faith", and yet it has no more proof than any of them. I won't, as you have suggested, believe in it to avoid punishment, either - yet another example of why people tell these stories to kids.

Dear Essence,

As this is a Question and Answer web site I wil ignore your blatant proselytizing and answer your actual question.

You are either incredibly naive or have tickets on yourself and your message if you think "atheists" are terrified by the christian message.

Don't you get it - "Atheists" don't believe in a God so why would they be 'terrified' by christians who 'know' and 'say' what they believe. That would be funny if it wasn't so sad that you obviously actually believe that!.

I suggest that you show a little discernment in you message and how you present it and maybe even read up on Jesus' teaching on when and how to present his message.

1) Please don't generalise like that... atheists are just people, you know :( We come in all shapes, sizes and colours... we're all different ages... we're seriously just people. Not evil people. PEOPLE.

2) I don't think atheists are terrified. I mean, we aren't god-fearing or anything, which cannot be said for certain religions. Sure, some atheists are jerks, and are agressive with their beliefs. But so are some religious people.

3) I'm certainly not terrified by religious people who are confident in what they believe in. I think it's good that people have something to hold on to, and keep them going through life... but it's not what I believe in, so if people ask me about it, I tell them how I feel. And if people try and tell me how to live my life because of something they believe, I'll tell them how I feel about that, too :'D

because of the fact it have sturdy ethical teachings which different religions have not got. besides, this faith is in line with artwork, and faith. artwork interior the experience, artwork for God, like being sturdy to others, help others, and teach unconditional like to all and sundry. even however we can't gain that perfectly, its provides a sturdy non secular feeling and inner happiness. 2d in common terms is the authority of scriptures, as there is not any different scripture or historic previous books in this international that have such extra than a number of copies and the time hollow b/w of the maximum modern present copied scripture and unique activities are so on the edge of one yet another. Having scriptures of practically 30,000 and lifeless sea scrolls courting 3 hundred BC, plus hundreds of Church father letters courting in the previous 2 hundred advert, no different e book have this plenty authority.

They are terrified of the anti-gay ones who seek to turn our nation into a theocracy and eradicate all God's gay children. After that, they will go after the atheists, Muslims, Latinos, Mormons, Blacks, and single moms. That is pretty terrifying to any decent human being!

So this God of yours, does he punish injustice?

Does he punish he who lies and profits from lying and lives every day a life of lying? No - he's not interested in that.

Does he punish he who murders every single day? Does he punish he that profits from murder? Does he punish he who profits from the murder of children? No - Your God is not interest in that either.

Does he punish the callous one? Does he punish he who's gluttonous appetites condemns the masses to starvation? No? You're God doesn't care about that either?

What does he punish, exactly?

Disbelief.

This is the biggest problem your God has found on this Earth?

My poor, medieval friend.

You are but a relic.

Matthew 24

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times

1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
