Why is anti semitism so long lasting and irrational?

Iv spent the last 3 days looking and logging anti Semitic comments on varies blogs and on YouTube videos and it's everywhere yet these anti Semites always use the same old garbage.

Jews killed Jesus
Jews got kicked out of bla bla country
Jews want to control the world.

I mean how I'll and stupid are these people do they know how stupid they are???

I have kind of noticed that you never really see Jews going "Let Muslims die, those pigs." I'm sure there are those out there, but you are right, it's way way more likely you're going to see an angry Muslim spewing hate comments about Jews. Which is kind of ironic, considering it's this teeny tiny country, with all these large countries mad at them. Anyway, it's indoctrination of hate. The parents were mad at them, so the children learned it as well. It just becomes a vicious cycle. These types are really mad at most of the world anyway. Europe has caused them problems. The Americas have caused them problems. The whole world is against them, and they are pissed off.

No one knows for sure the answer to your question, but based on some inferences in the Bible, the true answer may surprise you.



First let me be clear that the NT teaches being kind and loving toward all people, even one's enemies. No true Christian would even consider being intentionally rude to another person, much less harm them in any way--including Jews.



However, just as you said, even since ancient times, Jews (and Israelites before them) have been attacked, persecuted and almost destroyed numerous times. What about being God's chosen people? First there is this.



"But if you don't listen to what the LORD your God tells you--if you don't obey all his commands and laws that I tell you today--then all these bad things will happen to you: The Lord will curse you in the city and in the field. ... All these curses will come on you. They will keep chasing you and catching you, until you are destroyed, because you did not listen to what the LORD your God told you. You did not obey the commands and laws that he gave you. These curses will show people that God judged you and your descendants forever. People will be amazed at the terrible things that happen to you" (Dt 28:15-46).



Then there is this:



"A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Heb 10:28-31).



First, a significant number of those who call themselves Jews (maybe half) are atheists. How can they listen to a God they don't even believe in? For the many of the others, they work on Saturdays, eat pork, etc. Second, the vast majority of Jews don't consider Jesus' sacrifice on the cross of any consequence, and if anything, despise it.



The prophet Habakkuk complained about his fellow Jews in his day, basically about how ungodly they were. God said that he was going to raise the Babylonians against them to punish them. (And he later did.) Habakkuk then complained to God about using a nation worse than the Jews to punish the Jews. God told him that he was going to punish the Babylonians too. (And he later did.) If one replaced the word "Babylonians" with "Nazis", you'd think Habakkuk had predicted WW2. It appears God has over the centuries used the Greeks, Romans, Catholics and Muslims to persecute or destroy the Jews, just like he used the Babylonians in ancient times.



I too am amazed at the terrible things that have happened to Jews over the centuries, but not as amazed as you are. I know what the Bible says on the matter.



Again, let me repeat myself. This only my opinion. I do not wish anything bad on anyone.

yes, Jews are actually a very booksmart people, just missed the bus on Jesus being the messiah. Bible prohephy says in the end days all Jews will declare Jesus is Lord. Act 4:27 says romans, high priests and Israelites crucified Jesus, they were many Jews against crucifying Jesus according to the gospel.
