1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

By faith should we not keep the commandments of God? Jesus did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill... Why do many believe we do not have to keep the commandments? Even the sabbath commandment?

Here is why we SHOULD...

. WHY do Christians Worship on the First Day of the Week instead of the Seventh? PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS... VERY IMPORTANT.

Only faith in Jesus and submission to HIS will can ever bring us into obedience to Him.

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we Love GOD and Keep His Commandments."

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: And his commandments are NOT grievous." 1 John 5:1-3

God calls us to rest on the SEVENTH Day. Jesus worshiped on the seventh day, and the disciples did also.. I looked it up and the 1st day of the week it only mentioned 8 times in the new testament.

Actually study these today.

Matt 28:1 Mark 16:1,2 Mark 16:9 Luke 24:1

John 20:1. John 20:19. Acts 20:7. 1Cor 16:2

Acts 20:7 is the only recorded text where there was a religious meeting in the new testament. Paul preached ALL night and even unto the BREAK of day. This meeting began at SUNSET due to customs. And it ended around the next morning.

A. This is the only record of the disciples breaking bread on the first day

B. They broke bread EVERY day according to Acts 2:46

C. the account of the meeting says nothing about the Sabbath.

D. This was a SPECIAL meeting held because paul was leaving for a journey.

E. The meeting was mentioned by Luke due to the restoration of a young man that fell and was killed.

F. The meeting was a Saturday night.

1cor 16:1,2 mentions taking up a collection on the 1st day of the week but neither mentions Church or a meeting. This was not a sacred collection or even a public collection for that matter.

It is shown in Revelation 14:7 what kind of people are standing for God.. "Those who hold the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus."

Sabbath was there at the BEGINNING. Thousands of years before Jews were alive..

God blessed Four things..

Man, The Birds, The fish, And the Sabbath Day.

Jesus blessed the Sabbath day he HALLOWED it, and he SET IT APART for Holy use.

The Bible states "REMEMBER" the Sabbath in Exodus 20.. God knew we would forget..

The Sabbath was changed by the Roman emperor Constantine during the Dark ages around 321-362ad. It was changed to "honor the Venerable day of the sun" or "the SUN GOD"

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."

"For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle(crossing of a t dotting of an I) shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.".

The question now becomes, who authorized this change of te Sabbath?

This Question is best answered by the CATHOLIC DOCTRINAL CATECHISM 3rd Ed. which states this DIRECTLY

QUESTION: "Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?

ANSWER: HAD SHE NOT SUCH POWER, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have SUBSTITUED the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the Seventh Day, a change for which there is NO scriptural authority." Page 174..

Catholics even identify the CHANGING of the day of worship as a SIGN of CATHIOLIC AUTHORITY!

"The Catholic Church, . . . by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday."

Catholic Virginian Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9, art. "To Tell You the Truth."

God says will will worship on the Sabbath Day in Heaven. "For as the new Heavens and the new Earth, which I will make, shall remain before me saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain."

"And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (Isaiah 66:22,23)

Let us ALL remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy.

God set it there at creation, and God states that we will ALSO come before his throne on the Sabbath Day in Heaven.

1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Many believe we do not keep the commandments of God, because of the deception of satan.

No one wants to hear the truth. The ONLY part of The Old Testament that no longer applies is ya don't need 3000 sheep to get through the year for sacrifice The rest stands, that is why we have gotten so far off coarse with this " greasy grace". Satan is running the majority of the churches now, and no one even notices!!! Seed sowing to the pastor, it's terrible. There is no storehouse, which, we are finding out about now. Praise God He is going to bust and humble our nation to get us back on track. How much longer are we going to let the tail wag the dog?????

Here is an excellent place to get back on track. Hosea 4:6; Proverb 1:7; 8:13; 2:5-6; Psalm 34:11 - end. Then study out the "phrase" that stands out ! Folks, it's time to participate!!! Read and study your own Bible!! Stop waiting for some preacher to teach you! It's about "personal" relationship!!!

Your citation of I John 5:2 assumes these commandments are the old covenant commandments, or includes the old covenant commandments. Assumption is a road to deception.

Your citation of Mt. 5:17 ignores the context in relation to "the law or the prophets" and there are no laws codified in the prophets. You cannot fulfill or destroy law where there is no law. This is speaking about what is found in the law and prophets with the potential to be fulfilled or destroyed: Prophesies.

If this were indeed the legalities of the law Jesus was talking about, and they remain intact and inviolate down to jots and tittles, then Jesus contradicts himself later in the same chapter where he changes points of law way beyond the jots and tittles.

Paul warns Christians not to let themselves be taken back into the old covenant (Gal 5:1). So why are you doing so? There is a curse on those who would do this.

When U keep the law of a country, U are free, as soon as U break the

law U are not free. Its the same way with YHWH's Law, keep it, stay

within its bounds & U are free, break the Law & there are consequences. The Sabbath is still a Commandment. Remember the

Sabbath Day to keep it Set Apart.

You are correct, for the original laws of God have been imprinted within every gene of man, and yet, man always follows men's truths, not Gods truths.

They've been deceived by the false prophets since Adam took his first bite of sin and man still can't even keep the simplest of commandments.

"Thou shall have no other Gods before me."

Men worship men and love the praise from their fellow man over the praise of their God.

Gods commandments are to be kept, even as you state, Jesus stated the same terms and the world cannot hear.

Because Christians don't keep anything else in the Old Testament. Why be contradictory and just keep the ten commandments? Jesus told his disciples to "love God and your neighbor as yourself". On those two things will a person know what to do in their Christian walk. If they have love, then they don't need the ten commandments because their direction of right and wrong and good and evil is in their hearts. That's how I translate it, anyway.

If Christians just followed the ten commandments from the Old Testament but not anything else then they are cherry pickers. By the way, there are TWO sets of the ten commandments. The first, the one that all Christians go by, is stated in Exodus 20, before Moses breaks them. The SECOND is listed in Exodus 34, and states completely different commands than the first one. This is the one that Christians DON'T go by, but it is in this chapter when they are actually officially called "The Ten Commandments". They aren't called the ten commandments in Exodus 20, just Exodus 34, where the commands are different aside from about three.

Why should we keep the commandments of God? You just said it yourself.

LOVE! If we love the begotten of the Father then we will love the Father and His people.

Christianity has a rich history of fitting into a new culture by getting rid of the old culture it came from while remaining true to the core beliefs. The first Christians were more concerned with saying, "There is a god and his son/prophet is Jesus and he died for you" than saying "Also there was a guy called Moses and he said that god said that...kosher...sabbath...cloven feet...etc."

That and most followers of Jesus werre not Jewish and didn't want to become Jewish so creating a new religion and saying that you have to be jewish, for the most part, wouldn't win over many people.

Jesus said, love the lord your GOD with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself. For all the law and the prophets are fulfilled in these two commandments.

This is true but every time this question comes up the sabbath is the focal point. I believe the Jews who have followed the same practices for thousands of years. On the other hand I also believe not following God's command on graven images may be more detrimental to your spiritual well being.

EDIT: I see only keeping some of the commandments is important. Interesting!

More than the Ten. Jesus gave us another Commandment. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love one another as I have Loved you. He said if you Love me keep my commandment. All the other commandments will be covered if you follow the words of Jesus!

When Jesus said to keep the commandments, he meant this:

John 15:12:

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

When you believe in Jesus Christ, you are no longer bound by the curse of the law, but is free. This new commandment Jesus Christ gave us, is to love one another.

Yeshua of Nazareth (Son of God), all His disciples, and all _their_ disciples kept Torah - even those who were not Jews. Why? Love towards God.

Following Him is not just a figure of speech. Do what He did.

There's a powerful influence of Hate towards God, at work since the beginning to deceive people against Torah. Like Eve, "Christians" are tricked into disbelieving God's clear word that Torah was made to be KEPT. The Greek-based New Testament called this deceitful Spirit the Mystery of Anomia (literally "lawlessness"), and also the Spirit of Antichrist. "Christians" misname this filth "liberty" and since they adore sin they love the Mystery of Iniquity more than the God they don't know. Most called "Christian" are actually unwitting agents of that anti-God force, confused about what was nailed to what.

The Creator's actual chosen ones are few and scattered throughout many "churches"/groups/organizations. Very few people today can be described the way that Revelation describes God's true tiny remaining flock... These have more than just the testimony of Yeshua; they also keep the commandments of God (see Revelation 12:17). Evil spirits can't stand the true People of God, but they are only amused at "Christians". "Christianity" is just a counterfeit and it does the work of the "Satan" by spreading a way of life that is adverse to God's instruction.

Some of God's chosen are mixed in with the lawless "Christians" because they don't yet understand "Come out of her, My people."

Some very, very deceived people think that they can wave around the word "Love" as an excuse to **** on God's Ways, but this is only proof that they understand neither Love for God nor Love for men. These same people don't understand that all God's Torah is simply instruction on the meaning of Love. They would have you believe in a confused God who changes and doesn't know what he wants from us from one day to the next...

The real story is much simpler.

>>Hogie said: "Your citation of I John 5:2 assumes these commandments are the old covenant commandments, or includes the old covenant commandments."

>>Answer: It's called reading the Bible as a whole, Cherry Picker. Let's look at your assumptions... For instance: you assume that you can tell the difference between what commandments are and aren't applicable in the "new covenant". I think your doctrine is evidence that you can't. Do you think that "Love the Lord and Love your fellow" is something new Christ brought? This is straight out of the "old". Many of God's "old" commands are Eternal.

>>Hogie said: "Assumption is a road to deception."

>>Answer: Don't confuse Assumption with Faith. If I believe something because God says it, that's not an assumption. It's trust. You place your trust in doctrines of man above God's commandments; this is the very thing for which Yeshua corrected the Pharisees.

>>Hogie said: "Your citation of Mt. 5:17 ignores the context in relation to "the law or the prophets" and there are no laws codified in the prophets. You cannot fulfill or destroy law where there is no law. This is speaking about what is found in the law and prophets with the potential to be fulfilled or destroyed: Prophesies."

>>Answer: You attempt to distort the issue. Indeed most of text of the Nevi'im (the Prophets) contain injunctions to keep the commandments and sabbaths correctly, and with a holy heart. Those who are not in agreement with the Spirit of these Prophets are not a fit judge of their meaning.

>>Hogie said: "If this were indeed the legalities of the law Jesus was talking about, and they remain intact and inviolate down to jots and tittles, then Jesus contradicts himself later in the same chapter where he changes points of law way beyond the jots and tittles."

>>Answer: Yeshua did not "negate" the law there, he Revealed the Spirit behind each of those laws. You would have been correct if he had been teaching people to break the injunctions in the scriptures. Encouraging people to go further than the basics can't be equated with what you're trying to present.

>>Hogie said: "Paul warns Christians not to let themselves be taken back into the old covenant (Gal 5:1). So why are you doing so? There is a curse on those who would do this."

>>Answer: Peter warned us about folks who are unable to understand Paul, and since they are ignorant and unstable, they twist Paul to their own destruction. (2Pet 3:15-17) Ignorant of what? The taste of pig? Obviously not. Rather, he means they are ignorant of the Tanakh, and of YHWH's true path. Unstable how? Is he talking about people who can't manage to consistently **** on the law? Obviously not. Rather, he means they are unstable in their ability to subject themselves to the Spirit of God, and they are still slaves to sin.

Are you in love with sin? If not, then leave it. Sin is the transgression of the law. If you obey sin, it is your master.

Are you grafted into Israel by the blood of Messiah or not? If you are, then YHWH's feasts and commands are for you. The issue of "which ones _can_ we keep" is a separate issue.

You are confused as to which is the original gospel and which is the "other gospel". You betray your lack of the same roots the Apostles had, by your inability to interpret the scriptures as they did. All the Apostles were commandment-keepers. If your interpretation leads you to a different conclusion than the Apostles and their disciples are shown to have practiced historically (sabbath and commandment-keeping, eating kosher, etc.), then YOU are the one bringing "another gospel". That's who the curse is for.

The true way is Spiritual Israel, and kadosh (set apart, you would say "holy"). Other ways whether Pagan, Gentile, unholy (not set apart) or even Rabbinical over-legislation are all "other gospels".

Go ahead and reject your Creator if you love sin so much, but be not surprised when CHANGE is demanded as you stand before the Judgment.

.in the new testament:

(please; any person having better knowledgecan increase my knowledge,or even correct me when ever mistke is found ,);

.....................what happens if u don't keep any of the 10 commandments.

.....................what happens if u till a lie,Comet a theft,kill some body,..or..,or..,(until the 10th. commandment)..!!?.

.................... .the answer is nothing ;u r Still that cristian.

......................no punishment.in Christianity religion was defined or even mentioned (in this life or the day after).

......................it is not mentioned that GOD may hate u for such a sin.

.....................what is said ;is that GOD;remains to love his beloved christian children especially, after confessing to a priest(i.e., leaking ur secrets to his benefits) .

.....................what ever u do &,what ever is ur committed sin or the number of commandments u don't keep,JESUS will remain loving u.

.....................not only that bot ur GOD allowed him self to be disgraced, crucified tortured & killed & the only reason for these pains is because,he loves his christian children &he loved to save them & forgive their all sins even the major sins (like violating the10commandment) but, he made him self disable to do so without passing (him self) through such miserable situations tortures scarification.

................so that is why he sacrificed him self as a sacrificial goat,to free the GOATS OF ISRAEL(for Jesus said; he was sent to the goats/children of Israel only not to any other nation e.g.;European,Caucasian,asian..etc.,) OF ALL OF THEIR SINS.What ever is/was/wil be, the sin.

................i.e. the holybook says:

................oh israelite (not any other nation);go free of any past or future sin for, GOD died & sacrificed him self instead of u.

................the resut;

......................jesus follwors(goats/children of israel or, israelite only) are free to do any sin & forgiven (in advance) to comet any crime & have the right to violate the 10 commandment or freeze them.

......................I think this was the reason, wheh some learned chrestian wespering in the ear of each others; saying:

/////////////// ACTUALLY; THEIR ARE ( ELEVEN ) COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS,NOT TEN COMMANDMENTS./////////////

...... WHAT IS No.11 COMMANDMENT OF JESUS..!!?.

....... WHERE IT IS WRITTEN...!!?.

........the answer would very clear & luadly:

............DO ANY THING U LIKE,COMET AS MANY CRIMES AS U CAN OR VIOLATE ANY COMMADMENT OF JESUS OR GOD BUT, (NEVERBECAUT BY THE LOW)..!!!!??.

................& THEY INSIST THAT, IS THAT,WHAT U CAN READ FROM THE HOLYBOOK(S)..!!!! BUT, IT IS (NOT WRITTEN)..!!!!!!?????.

>>>>>>>>>>....>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

that is:

......... WHY MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE WE DON;T HAVE TO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS RATHE, THAT IS WHY ,THEY BELIEVE WE CAN VIOLATE THE COMMANDMENTS

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

note1,...........IF JESUS,HIM SELF(2000yrs. back).. while standing in the open, amongest the croud of people toledthat,(HE WAS SEHT TO THE GOATS OF ISRAEL/not to any other nation).

i am surbrised..!! how the other nations christions are benifited by chhristianity(african, african amarican,european,cocasian,asian-other than israelite..etc..,)..why do we see alot of cherches & all this effors just to convert other riligion peopl to christianity, while jesus is not sent to them.

note2,.............JESUS;came&born as aman lived &behaved AS MAN IN HIS CHILD HOOD & ADULT HOOD,&HE DIED &THEN POT IN GRAVE AS ANY HUMAN. others can understand this much& thay may believe it.they-also- will accept u agmit that JESUS died as aman since u amitted ur self that ur god has died so he is finished or vanished,so logidaly u have no god. or u have a dead god(that is to them,to the others)u admited he is dead!!!!.. the logic the did can't make him self alife.who made hem alife,he is greater than him. then that is the god & not this one who died..it is notreasnable& not easy to prove no body will agreeor believe that a man after his 3days death stands up fly to heavens& he is the god.oh he has this power then why was he killed....that is why i say it is better not to amit that he died, one can say :e.g.he was taken to heavens sefore they catch him.thet took some other person.that is to avoid that he became alive after death.

Ignatius said it best when he said "Be not seduced by strange doctrines nor by antiquated fables, which are profitless. For if even unto this day we live after the manner of Judaism, we avow that we have not received grace.... If then those who had walked in ancient practices attained unto newness of hope, no longer observing Sabbaths but fashioning their lives after the Lord's day, on which our life also arose through Him and through His death which some men deny ... how shall we be able to live apart from Him? ... It is monstrous to talk of Jesus Christ and to practise Judaism. For Christianity did not believe in Judaism, but Judaism in Christianity — Ignatius to the Magnesians 8:1, 9:1-2, 10:3, Lightfoot translation."

Yep.We are to keep christ's commandments,we are to fallow the 10 commandments summed up in the two golden rules. But yes, keep the 10 but know you are not saved by it,these are things you should do.but you are not saved by doing them.

Blessed are you, for understanding and for teaching others to obey. It is nice for those who say they love Jesus to obey Him and walk as He walked (not in perfection, but in sincere devotion to pleasing the Father through obedience.) Perfection is not attainable for us in our behavior (for we stumble) but let us not lie or deceive ourselves either ... those that say they love the Lord demonstrate it not by hearing only His commands, but by doing.

We can not keep the whole commandments of God. We have all fallen short, we have all sinned. The Bible states that if we have broken one of the commandments of God, we have broken them all.

It also states that the Law kills. It condemns us, and puts us in bondage. God tells us that it was given to as a "schoolmaster" to teach us that we need God, and that we can not be god enough to meet His requirements.

However, Jesus fulfilled the Law, and as a Child of God who is "in" Christ, then we stand before God as righteous. Not of ourselves, but because of what Christ did.

The laws of God are still in effect, but as a person who has trusted in Christ and have turned from our sins, we are free from the curse of the law, and free in Christ. He paid the price for our law breaking (sin), and has set us free.

As such, we desire in our hearts to do God's will, and to follow His commands. However, Jesus summed the commandments of God up in two commands.....Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matthew 22:37-40)

When we as God's Children strive to do these things, although we may fall short sometimes, we are forgiven, and in Christ the law is fulfilled.

I won't repeat all the verses. "follows Jesus" has already given them. But the main point is, We have all fallen. There is nothing we can do to make things right. Jesus has already done it. That is why we are justified through faith in Him alone. Not of works (following the Law), but by faith in Jesus Christ.
Gregory

keeping the old testament laws do not justify a person before God

Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

the commandments we are to keep are the ones Jesus told us to do and by what jesus told paul to write to the Church's.

for instance

Eph 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Eph 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.

Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

The 10 commandments is man made. Forget what the bible says, if I lie and don't repent, I'm not sitting next to Adolph Hitler in Hell (That's BullSh*t). Just live your life ethically and help others always. When you die you can be proud of yourself!
