I am a Christian but I want to convert to Islam. Where should I start?
Islam perfect! I find it much easier to understand.

no Trinity
no Jesus sacrifice for our sins,
no complicated dogmas,
no intellectual headaches,
no non-sense.

Just a God to believe in and several rules to follow.

Where should I start?

Haha.. I am watching all the Atheists, Christians, and Jews go all out on me.. Haha watch them talk about how Muhamad raped a 13 yr old blah blah.. Muslims are terrorists.. Watch them talk about lies. You can't change my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haha you can't fool me! Please I am looking for support!!!

Where should I start?

I am sorry if this answer is long but i think you need to read it :)

I feel that you have real desire to be a Muslim and have full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion ordained by Allah for all human beings, then, then you should pronounce that "Shahada" (The testimony of faith) without further delay. The Holy Qur'an is explicit in this regard as Allah has stated.

"Truly, the Religion on the sight of Allah is Islam." (3:19)

Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah (Peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), said:

"Islam is based on five pillars: testifying that there is no God worthy to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and His servant; performing the prayer; paying the Zakat (obligatory charity); fasting the month of Ramadan; and perfuming Hajj."

The Shahada can be declared as follows:

''ASH-HADU ANLAA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH WA ASH HADU ANNA MUHAMMADAN ABDUHU WA RASUULUH."

The English translation is:

"I bear witness that there is no deity worthy to be worshipped but Allah, and I bear witness the Muhammad is His servant and messenger.''

What would be next after declaring the testimony of faith (Shahada) and then becoming a Muslim? you should know the real concept underlying this testimony which means the Oneness of Allah and accept Prophet Muhammad , as the last of the Prophet, and meet its requirements. you must behave accordingly applying this true faith to every thing you speak or do. What do the words of "Shahada" signify.

The significant point which every Muslim must know very well is the truth that there is no God (ditty) to be worshipped other than Allah, (Glory be Him). He is the only true God, Who Alone deserves to be worshipped, since He is the Giver of life and Sustainer and Nourisher of mankind and all creation with His unlimited bounties. Man must worship Allah, Who Alone is worthy of worship.

The second part of the "Sahada" i. e. "We ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh" means that Prophet Muhammad , is the servant and chosen messenger of Allah. No one must have two opinions about this matter. In fact, the Muslim has to obey the commands of the Prophet , to believe him in what he has said, to follow his teachings, to avoid what he has forbidden, and to worship Allah alone according to the message revealed to him.

---------------

---------------

The next step is to purify yourself by taking a bath (total ablution). you should then resolve to comply with all the principles and rules of Islam in their entirety.you disowns all forms of polytheism and false beliefs. you should reject evil and be righteous. Such rejection of evil and being righteous is one of the requisites of the motto of Islam that is, Lailaha Illal Laah.

Now You need to start seeking knowledge :

Steps: 1. Go to a Muslim book store and buy a book. NO INTERNET!!! Book stores are much more reliable. Islamic Book Store. Or you can go to an Islamic Site and order a book. 2. Convert. Just Google, how to convert to Islam. Or go to a local Mosque and tell them you want to convert. And you may ask them questions if you'd like. 3. Buy the cloth muslims pray on. And buy the Qur'an. 3. Pray and be a good Muslim. Do good deeds, let Allah(God) be your guide.

If you has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion of God, then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The “Shahada” is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam.

With the pronunciation of this testimony, or “Shahada”, with sincere belief and conviction, one enters the fold of Islam.

Upon entering the fold of Islam purely for the Pleasure of God, all of one’s previous sins are forgiven, and one starts a new life of piety and righteousness

here is the shahada

in arabic

I testify “La ilah illa Allah, Muhammad rasoolu Allah.”

The translation of which is:

“I testify that there is no true god (deity) but God (Allah), and that Muhammad is a Messenger (Prophet) of God.”

it can be done alone but it is preferred to be done in an islamic center so we may help you in pronouncing it right and to provide you with important resources for new Muslims.

congratulation for the wise choice

i ask GOD to give you guidance and support, amen

You are a muslim pretending to be a Christian. A true Christian would not have written this trying to get sympathy. It is impossible for a real Christian to change over to anything, for he or she would know too much about the love and power of God. The majority of Americans call themselves Christians because they attend church. Well, you go to McDonald--are you a Big Mac? Unless you have a personal relationship with Him, you are not a true Christian.

Change to whatever you want; you have to pay the price not others. Besides, God never lost what he has never possessed in the first place. Too many devils pretending to be saints. Now, you are showing your true colors, and I thank you for it!

Why you look at the people and the situations around you and make a decision? To be a christian you don't have to look at the "Christians" and members of organizations, but instead look for Jesus, the savior and preserver of life. Read His word from the bible(the word of Life). He will tell you what to do. But if you want to follow a flock of any kind that heads to destruction, look for it.. you will find it. It is not difficult to find in Muslim or atheist community. If you really want to life and peace of mind, Christ says " I am the light of the world whosoever follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life" John 8:12. and He also says" I am the truth, the way, and the life, no one comes to the father except by me" John 14:6. Jesus is the answer to those who look for to life and pace of mind here on earth and everlasting life in time to come.

Good luck.

Believe something because it is true not because it is easy.

How can a man know that after Babylon Medo-Persia and then Greece would rise and conquer the known world? (I'm talking about the book of Daniel) The Bible is nearly 30% historical predictive prophecy, most of which has already come true. The Quran 0%.

How can we trust the Bible?

Your right no one can change your mind, but you must study and find what is true not what is easy. May God bless you as and if you search for Him.

I would read "why I am not a Muslim". It's a fascinating book.

If you were converting to Christianity, I would suggest "Why I am not a Christian".

If converting to atheism, make sure you read something by Lee Smolin.

Always read the most *critical* book before converting to anything.

You were a Christian to start with and thus, not too bright, so now you also want an excuse to diddle little girls. Ok , I get it. Have fun. And uh...that's raped a 9 year old. Maybe before you convert you should do a little research. Like maybe about apostasy.

i know a lot of former Christians and Atheists that converted. The first step is to call a local mosque and talk to the "Imam" which is arabic for priest. Tell him that you want to convert and he will guide you. To do a true conversion you have to say "there is no God but Allah and Muhammed (pbuh) is his messenger" in arabic infront of a crowd / witnesses.

good luck.

Actually, as phonies go you are particularly obvious. Quit trolling.

If you are an American just going to prison if you want exposure to Islam.

Why don't you start by finding the nearest mosque around you? Talk to the imam about your intention.

So you want to convert because you like negative attention, then? Got it.

Congratulations for having an adolescent phase.

Start by telling God that you would rather spend eternity in hell fire and brim stones instead of accepting the salvation of His Son, Jesus Christ. Tell God you reject Him, His Truth, His Love, His Salvation, and His Son.

THAT is how you begin to turn your back on the God came to earth to become a man to die in your place!
