My Jewish friend... what should i do!?

My school friend, Barry, is having his bat mitzvah soon and invited me. I want to go, cuz Barry is a nice guy (sometimes hes a mooch though...) but my parents wont let me. They say that because Barry is Jewish his parents will suicide bomb me when i try to go. I told my mom (she is Catholic) that his parents are nice. She keeps arguing with me that his parents are evil and only want our money at this "Gathering of the Jews". I told Barry this and he only laughed (a funny Jew).

My mom also thinks that his parents (they are lawyers) will try to sue us if i dont bring a huge gift for Barry. She blames the economy on the Jews and even says "Jews did 9/11 you know". My dad, who is a democrat and loves Obama, says, "The Jews are worthless piles of filth and only want our money. Look at that Bernie guy, he took all the money in the country. Barry's parents are no different and are probably in on some scam." My dad also said that the Golden Plates say "Thou shalest not speak to the Jews"...

Im beginning to think my parents are right because last week i bought Barry a Milky Way because he forgot his money. He said he would pay me back and he still hasn't! My parents said that Hitler was a jew and he killed lots and lots of good white people, including Michael Jackson. Im torn. Are they right? Are Jews really evil people with a plot to take over the world? Or are they just a little greedy sometimes...
Also, how can i go to the bat mitvah without my parents finding out. Or should i not go at all. Im so confused. My parents say that god will hate me and jesus would be disappointed if i went.. HELP!

No offense, but your parents reasons as for why jews are evil are kind of ridiculous. Jews didn't do 9/11, the arabs did. Bernie Madoff is just one evil guy, you can't go stereotyping that every action that a jew does to steal your money just from him. Ask barry about the money you lent him, chances are it just slipped his mind and he will pay you back. Tell your parents this and maybe they will realize how prejudiced and anti semitic they are being and allow you to go the the bar mitzvah.

You should go. And you should move out just a s soon as you turn 18, if not before. If you are for real, your parents will poison your ability to live in this world with it's diversity, on purpose... Self fulfilling prophesy. If you live in a world where you believe that such and such a group is out to get you, so you should avoid them.. you WILL fail at the game of life, and you will most likely blame the people you were INDOCTRINATED to blame. Guess what.. and you already know this. The Jewish People, are.. people. And yeah, they want money, just like you do, and they want their beliefs to be taken seriously, just like your parents do. It should be noted that just because someone's last name is "Cohen" doesn't mean that he has the status of a Cohen. To be considered a Cohen, one must have an unbroken tradition, as well as other factors too numerous to mention here.
