its dealing with any type of work connected with spreading the gospel

in the church there are various areas where different types of ministeries are employed to spread develope and minister to the spiritual needs of both those already in christ and outside of the church!!!!!!!!the work of a pastor is a ministry!!!!!!one who teaches a sunday school class is another christian ministry in the church!!!people who go out the four corners of the church bldg are doing the ministry of christian evangelization!!!!one who plays music in the church is also doing christian ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!any type of work that is done to the glory of god for his advancing the kingdom of god in reaching those who need to hear the gospel of christ through the means indicated by the word of god!!!!!is christian ministry!!!missionaries are doing the work of christian ministry!!!!!!!! but the most important thing to always remember in order to do this work for the lord one must be empowered by the holy spirit in their lives and also prepared to sacrifice their lives in complete submission to the word of god!!!!!and his holy call to serve him in whatever capacity he impresses upon them to serve him in the church or doing any type of christian ministry outside the church!!!!!but only if god calls and is allowed to work in the person empowering them to do his devine will!!!!!!this is the only way this work can be genuinely effective!!!!!!!thats its called christian ministry!!!because all is done thru the empowerment of having a right relationship with jesus!!!!!!!!god saved you for a purpose to bring glory only to his holy name and to serve him in spirit and in truth!!!!

there is something god has very great and special for you and all who will come to know him thru christ!!!!!he has given us individual unique gifts and inner potential that is his desire to work in our lives to develope those great potentials that he has given us to use for his purposes and glory in the service of his kingdom!!!but we must first seek the kingdom of god and his righteousness and then all these things will follow!!!!you might be a powerful minister of the gospel !!!you never know what the lord can do or what unique gifts he has given you!!!!they are in you but the only way you are going to ever find out what god has for you to do for him in preparing the advancement of his kingdom before he returns!!!!is only if you decide to come to acknowledge him thru his son jesus christ as your personal lord and saviour!!!!!!!!hope this helps you better understand that the lord has something also very special for your life in the work of christian ministry!!!sincerely rick andrew s.

The Christian Ministry

“Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations.”—Matt. 28:19.

WHEN the first-century people of Galilee heard a thirty-year-old man preaching in their territory, they were so impressed by what he said that “good talk concerning him spread out through all the surrounding country.” (Luke 4:14) Never had there been a man among them that spoke with such wisdom and authority. His preaching had begun shortly after his baptism in the Jordan River, at which time God’s spirit had come upon him. The preaching that Jesus Christ began at that time was the beginning of something distinctly new in the long history of the Hebrew people.

2 During the days of the Hebrew prophets that ended with Malachi, there was no attempt to establish a growing body of preachers that would proclaim Jehovah’s purposes and teach the people Scriptural truths. God sent prophets primarily as agents of reformation, not as teachers. Their task was to turn the people back to true worship and to warn of what God would do to them if they persisted in their course of disobedience. For this the prophets were individually inspired by God. No attempt was made by them to assemble a body of preachers. The association called the “sons of the prophets” was an association of prophets who already had Jehovah’s spirit. They were not the product of preaching. But those who followed Jesus Christ were.

3 Unlike the prophets, Jesus preached with the purpose of gathering a people together who would be preachers. This was something decidedly new. It was his purpose that they would, in due time, form an organization of devoted worshipers of Jehovah who would “worship with spirit and truth” and would preach. (John 4:24) So with the preaching begun by Jesus in Judea and Galilee, the Christian ministry was established.

There are many, really. Visiting the sick, taking care of the poor, evangelism, leading worship, etc.

Pretty much anything that has to do with Christianity can be considered Christian ministry.

The work and service performed by a minister, servant, or attendant responsible to a superior authority. In ancient Israel, the Levites served as Jehovah’s ministers. Prophets were also used to minister in a special way. (De 10:8; 21:5; see LEVITES; MINISTER; PRIEST.) However, with the coming of Jesus Christ to the earth, a new ministry began. He commissioned his followers to make disciples of people of all the nations. (Mt 28:19, 20) Accordingly, to a world alienated from God, Christians bore a message of reconciliation to God through Christ.—2Co 5:18-20.

Those who responded favorably to “the ministry of the reconciliation” (2Co 5:18) needed to be trained, taught, assisted, and directed in a proper way in order to become and to remain firm in faith, as well as to accomplish the disciple-making work themselves. (Compare 2Ti 4:1, 2; Tit 1:13, 14; 2:1; 3:8.) Therefore, after his ascension to heaven, Christ Jesus, as head of the congregation, gave “gifts in men,” apostles, prophets, evangelizers, shepherds, and teachers, “with a view to the readjustment of the holy ones, for ministerial work, for the building up of the body of the Christ.”—Eph 4:7-16; see GIFTS FROM GOD.

Another aspect of the ministry inside the congregation concerned caring materially for needy but deserving brothers. The ministry to which Stephen and six other certified men were appointed involved the distribution of food supplies to Christian widows. (Ac 6:1-6) Later, the congregations in Macedonia and Achaia shared in a ministry of relief for the poor brothers in Judea. (2Co 8:1-4; 9:1, 2, 11-13) When the contribution was finally gathered together and Paul was preparing to take it to Jerusalem, he asked the brothers in Rome to pray along with him that this ministry of relief would be acceptable to the holy ones for whom it was intended.—Ro 15:25, 26, 30, 31.

Some years prior to this, a similar demonstration of love was made by the Christians of Antioch, in Syria, as they shared in a relief ministration for the brothers dwelling in Judea during a time of famine.—Ac 11:28-30.

There are many ministries. Some are teachers, preachers, evangelists, pastors, etc. You need to listen and learn to find out from Jesus what you are made for.

A real Christian ministry would be to teach what Christ taught. That's all there is to it.

And of course his Kingdom gospel is nothing at all like the "gospel" we hear these days! That original gospel was completely different.
