Question:
Do atheists even have a chance, according to The Bible?
2010-04-20 12:59:11 UTC
"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" - John 3:18

This seems to state that if, at any time in your life, you have NOT believed, you're condemned.

So why do Christians try to "save" atheists? Aren't we screwed anyhow?

(Not that I believe any of this "condemned" horse crap)

Gus, everyone has a chance.

The entire passage is amazing in its mercy and grace:

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[g] 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."[h]

What it says is that those who are unbelievers are already condemned, just as we all are condemned before being saved by Jesus Christ. The entire human race already stands condemned by God. I never try to save atheists because this is something only the Holy Spirit can accomplish. As a Christian, I don't believe there is such a thing as a living human being who is without the hope of salvation. Why do we keep telling you about Jesus Christ and the Bible? Because God has placed inside of us the burden to reach you with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a supernatural love for you as a human being.

Aethesist's have every chance to go to heaven, the only thing you have to do to become saved it be a sinner, which we all are.

Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

So yes Athesists have every chance to go to heaven.

today the worst place to be spiritually is in a church where God has left and Satan now rules.

The Bible tells us that for almost 2000 years after Jesus died on the cross, those who believe in Jesus, if possible, were to be members of a church. But now we learn from the Bible that God is no longer saving people through the ministry of the churches. The church age has come to an end.

Fact is God commands in His Law book, the Bible, that the true believers are to leave their church. This is because God’s righteous Judgment is upon all local congregations as God is preparing the world for Judgment Day.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, whoso readeth, let him understand, Then let them which be in Judaea [the local churches]* flee into the mountains:[to Christ]

Matthew 24:15,16

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God [the local churches]: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

1 Peter 4:17)

We must remember we cannot be saved by a church or by a pastor or by a priest, or by water baptism or by the communion service. Only the Lord Jesus Christ who is God Himself can save us. The Bible teaches that at this present time, when we are very near the end of time, that it is outside the churches that God is saving a great multitude of people.

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Why do you quote John 3:18, yet ignore the 2 preceding verses? - John 3.16&17, which state, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him might be saved. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through Him, might be saved."

That is the answer to your question, if you really want an answer. All you have to do is stop professing atheism, and believe in Jesus .

You see, God does not care what you do not believe in.

He has told us what we must believe in to be saved. And, that is what God cares about.

The choice is yours.

Go in peace.

And, always remember: -- Jesus loves you!!

Sincerely

It isn't good enough to just believe in Jesus to be saved. The demons know who he is but that won't save them. Those who follow him, love him and serve him will be saved. Atheists have the chance to believe in him but chose not to. Therefore you have chosen your own condemnation. Without Christ, you will be eternally condemned to be separated from God because you refused to accept his atonement for your sins.

There must be an other strage quote from the bible that says we can be saved..

The bible remembers me of the law, confusing, complex and only understood by those who like it... also very relative

IF YOU are condemned it is for laziness. What bovine slug would see something about their being condemned to Hell and be content to say 'THis seems to state'.

You are screwed up, but it has nothing to do with relligion or irreligion, it is your mental laziness, period. Long noticed too, this isn't the first example.

Hey, why just single out atheists? Two thirds of the humanity are non-Christian then there's all the people who lived before Christianity was even invented...

Even nonbelievers can have the light of God, and eventually attain salvation, by praying the rosary often.

God bless!

Why are you curious about horse crap then?

EDIT: Okay, anyone can be saved, whether or not they didn't believe beforehand, what matters is whether or not you believe now. Athiests aren't "screwed." They still have the choice to believe or not.

Ignorance is bliss. God forgives the innocent, such as little babies. If they really wanted to save us, they wouldn't tell us about Jesus and we'd be good to go.

Jesus was an alien, Mohammed was a swindler. I am Isaac Newton, do I really need to always wear a chastity belt all my life?

They only do that to make themselves look better....what an awful way to waste your time. Especially, when no one is profiting from it.

My ears hurt...not to mention my brain and those poor Christians are not going to get to heaven anyway as it doesn't exist.
2010-04-20 13:03:58 UTC
Yeah, but I have to give up my honesty and my brain.

Christians can't agree on that either!
