Cow is considered Mother in Hindu Religion but I have heard and seen many Videos,Links and articles that in Nepal and some parts of India Hindus themselves Slaughter Buffalo to please goddess on some festival occasion they do it a Ritual manner called (Jhatka)..........

So my question is not to hurt some one"s sentiments but just to know the fact i have heard that buffalo meat is used in Burgers,Momos as well in Nepal??

So Is buffalo meat justified for Hindus OR is it is same importance as compared with Cows??

And i heard they blame many Muslims that they slaughter and eat Cow meat but all European countries eat beef its in there culture then y do'nt they stop them?

Just a little question.........Its not dat m hurting any sentiments

Buffaloes are not as sacred in Hinduism as cow is. That's why.

And yes, you are intentionally trying to hurt Hindu sentiments here mr. mankaran singh chugh. Aren't these your comments regarding Hindus-- "go **** ur mom u hindu ***** and eat cow mother potty". You have also posted several dirty comments against Hindus, Christians and Sikh Jats on youtube. I wish I could come over to Ludhiana to give you one tight slap for all the hateful things you say to others.

Goodness.. I was about to celebrate Warrior's exit and now another anti-hindu Warrior showed up. Btw I can still see questions by those who have blocked me, when I'm not signed in.

The Cow is God's greatest gift to humans. Cow converts grass into milk - an abundant source of protein and calcium. We don't believe Cow as God but we treat the Cow as mother.

Hindus are not supposed to eat buffaloes either. The buffalo slaughtering you are mentioning is a festival of the Gurkhas. The demon Mahishasur(who was killed by Goddess Durga) was given birth by a buffalo, and the Gurkha Hindus believe the buffalo to be a symbol of Mahishasur, hence slaughter it during Durga Puja. But it's just a festival, the Vedas don't allow slaughtering of any kind of animals including the buffalo.

Hindus don't eat buffalo meat, you are misinformed on that. We don't blame anybody for cow slaughter outside India. We want to protect cows in India and we don't give a $hlT about whats people are eating in other countries. And by the way beef is also prohibited in Sikhism. Guru Nanak was a firm believer of the Rig Veda, which he said to be the oldest and the best scripture of the world, mentions "Cow" atleast 108 times

Cow is venerated as a sacred animal within Hinduism because generally the Hindus are thankful people, ancient Indian families gain prosperity due to the generous cows which gives them milk, ghee, butter. It soon became the source of income, Hindus call this source of income as Lakshmi(deity of prosperity and wealth). That is how cow became a sacred animal. Furthermore, cows gives us milk, Can you eat/harm the mother which gives you milk everyday?

Any type of ritual sacrifice is bad and should be banned from being practiced. Those people are doing that to please the yaksha yakshinis(Hindu Jinns) which they believe will help them to solve their problems.

Manusmriti (Chapter 5 / Verse 30) says, “It is not sinful to eat meat of eatable animals, for Brahma has created both the eaters and the eatables.”

Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that, “I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.”

Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says, “The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.”

Rigveda (10/85/13) declares, “On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows are slaughtered.”

Rigveda (6/17/1) states that “Indra used to eat the meat of cow, calf, horse and buffalo.”

Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes, “If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.”

Hinduism’s greatest propagator Swami Vivekanand said thus: “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”. (The Complete Works of Swami Vivekanand, vol.3, p. 536).

Adi Shankaracharya’ commentary on Brihdaranyakopanishad 6/4/18 says : ‘Odan’ (rice) mixed with meat is called ‘Mansodan’. On being asked whose meat it should be, he answers ‘Uksha’. ‘Uksha’ is used for an ox, which is capable to produce semen.

· The book ‘The History and Culture of the Indian People’, published by Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Bombay and edited by renowned historian R.C.Majumdar (Vol.2, page 578) says: “this is said in the Mahabharat that King Rantidev used to kill two thousand other animals in addition to two thousand cows daily in order to give their meat in charity”.

In samudra manthan many things came out of the samudra like vish and amrit. Cow and Tulse also came out during samudra manthan and were considered sacred and hold lot of spiritual power. Thats why we pray to cow and Tulsi.

I dont know where buffalo came from.

The vast majority of all those who follow and practice the various aspects of Sanataan Dharma do not eat any meat as they prefer to do as little harm as possible in the world.

Most of the scriptures of the world's various major faiths all speak of eating mostly fruits, vegetables, grains and seeds or nuts and such is sufficient for good health and meets all of one nutritional needs. Along with clean water and fresh air, little more is necessary.

I don't mean to be rude to you, but a buffalo and a cow are two different things. It's really as simple as that.
