Because they are ignorant. They would rather think of themselves as their own God then be accountable to their creator. The want to talk about facts this facts that, but you cant prove any of their ideas either. "Professing themselves to be wise, they become fools" How sad it is to live saying "I must see to believe" Can you see love? Can you see the wind? These people will die in their ignorance or be saved when they accept the fact that Jesus is our savior. Hate to be them on Judgment Day!

Why is it so annoying to believe? i'd desire to offer you a itemizing. The Resurrection, as far as i can tell each thing it fairly is lifeless continues to be lifeless. The transubstantiation-now there's a fairy tale, the goofball "mysteries" religious human beings arise with while they attempt to describe the unexplainable. And final yet no longer least, the difficulty of evil. God is the two a bully with an somewhat unusual humorousness or a susceptible and flabby cosmic muffin. Who desires the two? I quite have a extra appropriate understand-how of why believers think of like they do because of the fact i replaced into raised in a non secular family individuals. I see it has some reward somewhat in case you do no longer prefer to have conflict. in case you prefer somebody to point out the regulations and you only save on with them. in case you prefer to get a sturdy innovations sprucing argument going, faith isn't for you. and it fairly is the reason you come across atheists in this board. You ask questions, we are able to attempt and answer. You run the possibility of no longer liking the respond. we don't inevitably see distinction of opinion as undesirable. if certainty be told that's sturdy a variety of of the time. Toss some ideas against the wall and see what sticks. I see approaches to believe and now and returned i believe sorry for you and different cases i believe, nicely, that's her funeral, permit her stay her life, she's made her hammock, permit her attempt and get up in it.

I don't think Atheists are that curious about god... And while I may not have this down 100% about Atheists, I do know that I myself, tend to be a bit "bothered," shall I say, by all the casual Christians in America today. I hope I'm not overgeneralizing (we'll see), but popular Christianity seems to have a following of people doing whatever the h*ll they please, with very little reverence to their god/commandments, and what their actions imply. This is disconcerting on so many levels. If you're going to follow a religion, give it your all. No excuses. Dedicate yourself, and live by example! :)

Some will say that they need to understand the believers and then can lead them to the truth. In truth most are not Atheist but are really Agnostic, they want to study the idea without caring if He is real or not.

I think you need to work on your perception and understanding skills.

What many atheists, including me, find fascinating is the *belief* in gods -- not gods themselves.

We're curious about why often otherwise rational people make an exception to rational thought to maintain beliefs in mythical beings. We find that odd, and are quite curious about such beliefs.

That doesn't mean we're curious about the mythical being these people believe in, it means we're curious about the beliefs. There's a difference, you know.

Peace.

Probably due to the fact that atheists can at least be open minded. Religious people on the other hand would never understand because they don't care to take a look at the other side of the argument.

Not curious about god, curious about the gullible people who believe in him. If I could start a religion and abuse that gullibility, that would rock! Getting rich by selling salvation is an awesome racket, as nobody could ever prove you lied to them.

Many people claim to be atheists but truly are not sure whether or not God exists. The look for reasons to try to prove either way, but since many things about God are hard to comprehend, they do not really believe.

Also, they might be curious for more ways to prove God does not exist.

If not believing in something is the same as being curious about it, I guess you're going to accuse me of being curious about Santa Claus, mermaids, fairies, invisible pink unicorns, true Christians, cyclops, leprachauns, and griffins too.

This kelly christiangelical chick sets herself up for failure with every 'atheist' questions she can come up with! Great answers, all of you fellow non-believers!

Truthfully, she is the curious one with all the inflammatory questions she continues to ask. But it's hard for her to admit her own curiosity so she projects it on to us. Projection allows her to avoid her guilt for questioning her crazy beliefs. How's that for mad psych skillz?

can't be curious about something that's not there .... use some logic.

if anything its the theists who are afraid of the truth (that there is no god). otherwise they wouldn't make up silly little fairy tales.

They are bored with their pathetic little lives, and feel they must spew their venom before they disappear off the face of the planet into eternal separation from the God who loved them and provided away to know Him and have Peace, Love Joy and Hope. That is only my opinion mind you.

It is pretty hard to be curious about something which I don't believe exists really.

Maybe if you put some thought into your questions they would not make you look quite so silly.

Their numbers are low so they are trying to convert believers for their Movement. They need money to continue their Conventions and to fund their political agenda.

I don't believe that "E.R." was real either, yet I watched it every week for 16 years of my life. It was a great TV show.

Well aren't you curious sometimes about dragons and unicorns or the mythologies of ancient cultures?

That's how we look on your particular "god" myths, creation myths, etc. Christians are an anthropology class for us and we appreciate it.

The truth is that He most probably doesn't exist. I am interested in why so many people think he does. Being curious about God does not mean you believe he exists. The delusion of the religious mind is fascinating and scary in equal measure.

Simply saying there is no god is not a slam. If you read more into atheism than that it is your own doing.

Probably they just do not want to search for the answers, and are just content inventing one - "Hey dude, there is no God".

Where did they searched for the evidence ?

Eg:

If someone were to say there is no pen, he must be able to define pen, or understand pen as others understand in general.

Yeah sometimes it feels that atheists - from rational thinkers are becoming pure denialists
