Question:
If God had chosen to bring Christ into the world through a mule instead of a woman (Mary), would Catholics'...?

Would Catholics' view of the vessel God decided to bring the Messiah into the world through, change? Would they pray to the mule and ask it to intercede on behalf of them and others?

Mary was just a vessel--not a mule, but a woman.

Yes, most likely. And you are correct. Mary was just the vessel. She was a sinful, imperfect woman just like everyone else and does not deserve praise. In fact, God forbids that we worship anyone other than him.

"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them..." - Exodus 20:4-5

there has been plenty spectlation with regard to the Immculate concept. Many Roman, eastern Catholics and eastern Orthodoxes have self belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary became without sin even earlier she became born. some others have self belief that the Blessed Virgib Mary became sinful after she became born Her mom Saint Anne continually prayed for her to do God's will and genuine certainly she became chosen to the be the hot Ark of the covenant The previous Covenant became misplaced with the ten commanants in it yet Jesus is Almighty God who became word made flesh. God is the word and Jesus is the word of the Gospel made flesh So to be certain that the Lord and God to be born to the international what greater advantageous to be to be bore by skill of the Blessed mom of God who became diverse to be the sinless woman For the final clue we are able to work out that our lord god pronounced how he became to come back into this Earth with this word i'm going to place you between the seed and the lady The Blessed Virgin Mary additionally carried the youngster Jesus as she fought the dragon

You do not seem to get what the Incarnation of God as human is all about

You also obviously know nothing about Catholic teaching. Please allow me to suggest that you get a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and read it if you want the truth about what Catholic Christianity actually teaches.

Overcome by Mariaphobia? Hagiophobia( irrational fear of members of the Mystical Body of Christ in Heaven)? Romophobia( irrational or disproportionate fear of Catholics , especially the Pope)?

Why Would you dishonour your mother in such a way with such a question that insults Jesus?

Well, Mary the mother of Jesus Christ, true God and true Man ,is your mother also-that is, if you acknowledge Jesus as your brother and saviour and if you are a member of the Spiritual family of jesus and the Body of Christ

Also, mules are usually sterile donkey -horse combos

God bless and enlighten us all

Mary was the vessel in which God chose to bring Christ into the world.

While I understand the point you're trying to make, your question in its essence is insulting.

Catholics aren't perfect, and neither is any other Christian denomination (and I say that, even as I belong to one... My sole allegiance is to God alone. I may belong to a specific fellowship of believers, but I am not that closed minded that I cannot appreciate the fact there are others who choose to express their worship differently)

As per the whole "worshipping Mary" thing - that's false. Catholics place large emphasis on her. They do not worship her.

The main question I have is: As Christians, are we putting forth a positive Christian witness by tearing one another down? I think not.

That's just not right. I'm not even Catholic, and am offended by the sarcasm protruding through this question.

I can legitimately understand someone being uncomfortable with the emphasis the Catholics place on the virgin Mother. However, as Christians - do you really feel it is constructive to be tearing down one another?

God bless those who worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth (irregardless of their label)

By your question it is evident you are trying to upset people of G-d. G-d is not mocked.Humans are the care takers of this Earth and have dominion over animals. Read Genesis.Catholics do not pray to Mary-they pray to G-d and give Mary respect. That is also written in the Holy Bible that she will be honored for all time. How would your Mother feel if she thought you called her a mule?

I 100% agree! Mary needed a savior just like the rest of us. She was not sinless and she did NOT remain a virgin. To pray to her, worship her or even make her equal with Jesus is BLASPHEMY of the highest order. There is one mediator between God and man and that is Jesus Christ. We are not to pray to saints, Mary or the pope. Mary was favored among women and blessed but where in scripture does it say she's the "mother of God" or sinless or a perpetual virgin or that she didn't need to be saved? She was a sinner like the rest of us.

If your friends were mules instead of "just vessels" would you ask them to pray for you?

The Messiah was brought on Earth to save mankind and change the image of Earth. Mules were the worked of the devils that they were evils.

We don't pray to Mary. And we wouldn't pray to a mule.
