Leviticus 18:22--And you must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing.

Romans 1:26-27--That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; 27) and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.

1st Corinthians 6:9, 10--What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10) nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.

Up to you if you want to believe or not, but if you want to believe that the Bible is God's word, the anti-homosexuality scriptures are in there. There are more, but these were just the ones I knew off the top of my head.

As to your second question...

1st Corinthians 6:9-11 (a continuation of the scripture from above)-- What! 11) And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

Verse 11 says that if you choose to believe in the God of the Bible, repent of the action (feel regret over it), turn away from the action, and follow God's commands, you will be washed clean and the sin will not be held against you.

It always amazes me how some people interpret the Bible incorrectly simply because they THINK God said it. Leviticus 18:22 states "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Also, the New World Translation says "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." And so, it clearly talks about homosexuality. However, it says that the ACTION of homosexuality, not actually BEING homosexual, that is the sin/abomination. Any homosexual has the capability of producing a child. It's just their hormones that point in the other direction (to the same gender). To say it's "unnatural" is deeply offensive and quite closed-minded because not only is homosexuality observed in other species (like dolphins and binobo monkeys), it is how they are. A person doesn't become "unnatural" when they are attracted to the same sex, just different from social norms.

I would not be bothered to look for anywhere in the Bible where it says this, because my still small voice tells me it isn't true. I define "God" as the power of good, hating ANYone is wrong, and voluntarily hating or acting on the hate is sinful.

"Adultery" means having extramarital sex, and has nothing to do with being gay. It means that you should be faithful to your spouse.

Re. your additional details:

I don't see how the "thinking about" is bad.

I suspect you are young, and while emotional or romantic involvements with others are normal for young folks, don't let them get in the way of getting your own life arranged. Figuring out right from wrong and otherwise getting educated should be your priorities. Kissing someone of either sex is not a big deal, but keep your priorities straight.

Re. figuring out right from wrong: You need time by yourself to ask why some things are considered right and some wrong. The more you can figure out by yourself, the better. Putting yourself in the place of others helps. Some things may not be possible to figure out: then, talk with others, and/or trust your faith. However, if you are told to do or not do something and your conscience bothers you, listen to your conscience.

Hope this helps.

In Leviticus 18:22 it says "Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable", however, if you're actually using this as a basis for considering whether same sex relationships are wrong you should also know that in Leviticus 19:19 it says that 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material', meaning that if you're going to decide homosexuality is 'wrong' you also need to check all of your shirts for mixed fabrics too =/

Also, in reference to the second part of your question, first of all, you should consider that although the bible seems to be against homosexuality, it also says (in Deuteronomy 22:13-21) that "If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately", and more strangely "If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir", and if we no longer obide by these rules, why should we make an exception and stick ridgidly to the anti homosexualtiy passages (of which there are only a handful, compared to the millions of passages in the bible as a whole).

Leviticus 18-12: ,Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

and 20:13: If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable.

Romans 1:26-27 “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

BTW: God doesn't hate anybody, otherwise He wouldn't have sent Jesus to save us. He hates sin.

1 Thess. 4:3-8: “This is what God wills . . . that you abstain from fornication; that each one of you should know how to get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God; that no one go to the point of harming and encroach upon the rights of his brother in this matter, because Jehovah is one who exacts punishment for all these things, just as we told you beforehand and also gave you a thorough witness. For God called us, not with allowance for uncleanness, but in connection with sanctification. So, then, the man that shows disregard is disregarding, not man, but God, who puts his holy spirit in you.” (The Greek word por‧nei′a, translated “fornication,” refers to sexual intercourse between unmarried persons, also to extramarital relations on the part of married persons.)

Eph. 5:5: “No fornicator or unclean person or greedy person—which means being an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and of God.” (This does not mean that anyone who in the past was a fornicator cannot enjoy the blessings of God’s Kingdom, but he must cease that way of life in order to have God’s approval. See 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.)

Rom. 1:24-27: “God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them . . . God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.”

1 Tim. 1:9-11: “Law is promulgated, not for a righteous man, but for persons lawless and unruly, ungodly and sinners, . . . fornicators, men who lie with males, . . . and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching according to the glorious good news of the happy God.” (Compare Leviticus 20:13.)

Jude 7: “Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, after they . . . [had] gone out after flesh for unnatural use, are placed before us as a warning example by undergoing the judicial punishment of everlasting fire.” (The name Sodom has become the basis for the word “sodomy,” which usually designates a homosexual practice. Compare Genesis 19:4, 5, 24, 25.)

Not one single verse. Those often used as an example do not specifically say God hates homosexuals. The verse from Corinthians also includes thieves and drunks etc etc. Remember the Bible was written by man. Man often is incapable of knowing what God desires. Besides that God is not supposed to hate. All too often it is those people that hate which use bible verse to support their hatred.

It doesn't say that anywhere!

The bible says there shall be NO SEX between people of the same gender. This does not abrogate the divine charge of "loving your neighbor as yourself".

It's just that the bible says to not go over and shag your neighbor!

God does not hate people. He HATES sin!

You are construing that if God hates sin then He hates sinners. And this is FALSE THEOLOGY!

The central theme of the bible is to RECOGNIZE what sin is and TURN (repent) from that sin to become righteous and holy before a righteous and holy God.

Not only do gays NOT turn from sin, they stand up and FLAUNT it before God and society as a good and righteous thing to do!

For that PRIDE (haha), they will earn their place in hell.

(1 Corinthians 6:9) What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men,

(1 Timothy 1:10) fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching
