Question:
How to prevent a JW or Bible student from knocking on the door of your house: Ask her: Where is it written in the Bible that 144,000 ...?

will reign with Jesus Christ in the heavens?

Remind them that we can not go beyond what is written in the Bible.
1 Corinthians 4: 6
They will try to curl you, but do not give in. Insist on asking them to show you in the Bible a single verse that proves that the 144,000 will reign with Jesus Christ in the heavens.
If they show in the Bible that the 144,000 are with Jesus, you answer: I can be with the president but that does not mean that I am president. I can be with the king but that does not mean that I am king.
Then show them Revelation 5: 9, 10 which proves that PEOPLE OF ALL NATIONS will reign with Christ and "no" 144,000 of the 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
Therefore, it is proved that the JW SPECULATE the Bible, .. "add" .. things that the Bible does not teach.

If they say that the 12 tribes of Israel are symbolic and that they involve people of all nations, then tell them that we have to abide by the rules of the Bible: If the 12 tribes of Israel are symbolic, the number of 144,000 must also be SYMBOLIC .

1 Corinthians 4: 6; Proverbs 30: 6

After that, let's see if they will come back to your house. Only if they have a stick face.

Perhaps it has been “over 8 hours and you still have not proven that my question is wrong” because, firstly, it is impossible to prove a question is wrong. A question is an inquiry, not a statement that can be proven or disproven.

Secondly, you did not even ASK a question. You shared an issue you have with Jehovah's Witnesses regarding the teaching of the 144,000 and you tacked a question mark at the end of it to use it as a platform to “instruct” Jehovah's Witnesses, “remind them,” “show them,” and so on.

Further, you used the “question” form, ostensibly, to help us “prevent a JW or Bible Student from knocking on your door.” Pardon please, but in order to “remind them,” “insist on asking them,” “show them,” they would have to knock on your door and you would have to answer the door, is that not so? How, then, does that prevent them from knocking?

How to witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses:

First don’t argue with us. We didn’t come to your door to argue. If we feel that all you want to do is argue we will leave. By leaving we aren’t “running away” we are following the counsel at Matt 10:12,13.

Next don’t try to tell us that we must believe the trinity. According to the New Encyclopedia Britannica (1976), and the New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) the trinity is not found in the bible, and the Apostles did not believe anything ‘even remotely approaching that idea’. The Encyclopedia Americana (1956) says that the trinity “does not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God, it is, on the contrary, a deviation from their teaching”.

So if you say that you can “prove” the trinity using the bible, you are either misunderstanding what the bible is actually trying to say or you are purposely trying to teach falsehoods.

Next don’t say that “your” bible is inaccurate or full of mistakes. According to Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament. by Jason BeDuhn, associate professor of religious studies at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona; The New World Translation “is one of the most accurate English translations of the New Testament currently available” and “the most accurate of the translations compared.” One of the bibles it was compared to was the NIV. John 1:1 was one of the verses compared and the NWT was the only bible translation that translated it correctly. (He did say he preferred “and the Word was divine or godlike to “a god”, but a god is an accurate and truthful translation).

Speaking of the NIV, when Edwin H. Palmer, Ph.D., Executive Secretary for the NIV’s committee was asked why they didn’t translate Jehovah’s name correctly and accurately in their bible in the almost 7000 times it appears, he stated that they had spent $2 million dollars and if they had translated God’s name correctly as Jehovah or Yahweh instead of LORD, they would be throwing that money away. He also said that we are the victims of 350 years of the King James tradition.

So my question is if they mistranslated Jehovah’s name 7000 times to “sell bibles” what else did they

mistranslate to “sell bibles”? (2 Corinthians 2:17)

If the reason they didn’t use Jehovah’s name was “Jewish Tradition” remember what Jesus said about Jewish traditions and God’s Word at Matt 15:6, the Jews had made God’s Word invalid do to their traditions. Therefore is following Jewish tradition a good idea when it comes to translating God’s Word?

Another point you shouldn’t bring up is the immortality of the soul. Unless you can disprove Ezekiel 18:4 and Matt 10:28 which says that the soul will die and also be destroyed as punishment for sin. Please remember that the first recorded lie in the bible was to the effect that if we disobey God we will not die. (Gen. 3:4) So if you tell me that the soul / spirit does not die, you are repeating the lie Satan told Eve.

Add to this the fact that according to Eccl. 9: 5 & 10, the dead are conscience of nothing at all and Jesus liken death to sleep (Matt 9:24; John 11:11-14). Finally let’s not forget that eternal life is a reward for faithfulness, not something we already have. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23)

Another point you shouldn’t mention is “All those who believe that Jesus is Lord will go to heaven.” Please notice what Jesus said about John the Baptist at Matthew 11:11. No one can deny John’s faith in Jesus, but he won’t even be a lesser one in heaven, so how and where is John to receive his reward for faithful service? (Matt 5:5) This is in harmony with what the bible says about King David (Acts 2:34) not going to heaven. Another point about heaven is: don’t say Jehovah took Enoch to heaven because John denies this at John 3:13.

So what is the best way to witnesses to one of Jehovah’s Witnesses? Well, instead of waiting for one to come to your door, call your local Kingdom Hall and ask for a personal study of the bible, study once or twice a week, attend all the meetings for 6 months. If you haven’t learned to witness to Jehovah’s people in this time period, pray to Jehovah and ask him to help you remove whatever it is that is holding you back.

Unfortunately, JWs are not at your house to hear what you have to say. They only want you to listen to what THEY have to say! They only want to get inside your home to start a weekly book study, which will then get you coming to their Kingdom Hall and, hopefully, to become a baptized JW.

It matters not that you are convinced they are wrong about the 144,000. I heartily agree with your point, "If they say that the 12 tribes of Israel are symbolic and that they involve people of all nations, then tell them that we have to abide by the rules of the Bible: If the 12 tribes of Israel are symbolic, the number of 144,000 must also be SYMBOLIC." But JWs will not listen to that point because they are convinced their leaders are appointed by Jehovah to interpret the scriptures for them. If their leaders say the number is literal but the rest is symbolic, they will blindly accept that, with no questions asked. That is what you are up against.

It could also be pointed out that some JWs would misapply Romans 8:14-17 to back up their claim that "the anointed" (the 144,000 to them) rule/reign with Christ in Heaven. If you are not prepared for that, it could throw you. To be prepared, get them to agree that only those going to Heaven are anointed with 'holy spirit' and only they can say "Abba, Father" (vs. 15). Then read them verses 9-11. Those verses prove that 99.9% of all JWs do not belong to Christ - they are none of His!

However, instead of arguing with JWs, should you not be keen to present to them the biblical gospel, in a winsome way? They are preaching a false Christ and thus a false gospel. Their gospel is all about surviving Armageddon by becoming a baptized JW. The Bible gospel is what Jesus did to save us from our sins at Golgotha, and the empty tomb. Get them to focus on the risen Christ, and how He needs to be their only Lord and Savior, if they are to be saved. They are hedging their bets by claiming to have faith in Christ, but simultaneously having faith in their Governing Body and in working hard to prove themselves worthy of eventual everlasting life on a paradise Earth - 1,000 + years in the future. How they need to turn to Christ! Help them!

Jehovah's witnesses don't come to you door to talk about 140000 they come to invite you to serve Jehovah and obey Jesus as king. That above mentioned approach won't work in me.

It will however get you a free home Bible study and invited to the kingdom Hall because you showed such an interest in God's word.

While I'm there I will breifly tell you about Jesus coming Kingdom and invite you to learn more? If you start asking Bible questions.i will do my best to show you the answer using your own Bible. If you ask why don't Jehovah's witnesses believe this or that .I will say go ask them! This is what I believe. And I will show you Jesus direct command to go and preach.

Contact me if you really are interested in God.

If your not. I won't bother you.

It's been years since I had a visit. They started out asking me if I knew that there is no such place as a fiery Hell. Once I showed them what the Bible had to say, they left and I think I've been banned.

Instead of being a loser, be upfront and tell them the truth of what you want.

Simply tell them that you're not interested in their message and to stop coming over.

It will save time for them and you.

The Jehovah's Witness organization teaches that not all members of their group can take communion. Only the 144,000 members called the "anointed class" have the right to take Communion, and they are the only ones who go to heaven.1 In fact, the 144,000 "anointed class" within the Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones who are "born again."

"This 'little flock' of 144,000 Kingdom heirs, then, are those ones from among mankind who are 'born again.'"2

The Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate the communion supper only once a year.3 In their annual communion service, the congregations gather in their various kingdom halls. This is done on the 14th of Nissan, the Passover date on the Jewish calendar, which usually falls in March or April of each year in the Gregorian calendar. During the service, the cup is passed from Jehovah's Witness to Jehovah's Witness. None of them partake-- except the very few who are of the 144,000.

In John 6:53-54, Jesus said, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 'He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." (NASB).

I am not here going to discuss the nature of the communion and compare Catholic and Protestant views of the elements; rather, the issue is that Jesus said to the Jews that they must take of the communion, which He later instituted in Matt. 26:26-28; and that if they did not partake, then they had no life in them, 6:53.

According to the Watchtower, the "life" spoken of in 6:53 is everlasting life.

"On that occasion Jesus was not speaking to those circumcised Israelites about "everlasting life" as human creatures on a Paradise earth under his millennial kingdom. Rather, he was speaking about the very same opportunity that he was setting before the apostle Peter and his fellow apostles by means of the "sayings of everlasting life." It was the opportunity to gain inherent life with the Christ in the heavens, "life in yourselves." (John 6:53) By reigning with him in heaven they could pass on to mankind the life-giving benefits of his sacrifice. 4

According to Jehovah's Witness theology, some Witnesses will be raised to "immortal life" and others to "everlasting life." Immortal life is only for the 144,000 that go to be with the Lord in heaven. They do not have resurrected bodies but have "spirit bodies." Everlasting life is for those on Paradise earth and consists of a resurrected body that must be maintained through eating, sleeping, etc.

As we see in the quote above, according to the Watchtower, the life that Jesus was speaking of was "everlasting life"; that is, life in heaven for the 144,000. Therefore, the Witnesses teach that the communion supper is instituted only for the 144,000 Jews and not for all Witnesses.

Since Jesus bought the church with His blood (Acts 20:28) and His blood is the blood of the covenant for the church (1 Cor. 11:25), then communion is supposed to be for all Christians and not just 144,000 elite Jehovah's Witnesses.

What does the Bible say?

The Communion supper is for the body of Christ--for the believers. The bread and the wine represent the body and the blood of Christ that was sacrificed for the believer so the believer could have redemption of his sins. Therefore, Communion is only for those people who have trusted in Christ's sacrifice. Communion is not for those who are not covered by Christ's sacrifice. This is significant since the great majority of the Witnesses do not take communion.

Paul the apostle said that the bread is a sharing in the body of Christ--that there is only one body of Christ (the church) of which we all partake. Within the Christian Church, there is no limitation on the who takes the Lord's supper.

"Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 17Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread. 18Look at the nation Israel; are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers in the altar?" (1 Cor. 10:16-18, NASB).

And on the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to depart the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight." (Acts 20:7, NASB).

There is no mention of limiting communion to anyone except that they examine themselves and rightly discern that the elements represent Christ's sacrifice and not a mere meal to satisfy hunger.

"But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he does not judge the body rightly." (1 Cor. 11:28-29, NASB).

No place in the Bible is communion restricted to only the 144,000--as the Witnesses teach. This is a fabrication of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. The fact that the Jehovah's Witnesses do not take communion is a demonstration that they are not in the body of Christ and do not have a covenant relationship with Christ. The Lord's Supper is meant for the body of believers in the true and living God who have been redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord's Supper is not for those who are outside the camp of Christ. Since the great majority of the Jehovah's Witnesses do not take communion, this is a testimony against them.
