Question:
does God exits? is there proof?
2007-11-11 17:20:04 UTC
if God created us then does that mean he created the dinosaurs that we've discovered, the stars, the planets, and the Universe too? if he exists then why is there wars, diformed children and adults, starving children, and suffering? why is he watching us suffer? shouldn't he do something to help us? then God must not exist because he isn't doing anything about it to help the people he created. and there should be proof he exists. right?

No proof outside of your mind, and there never will be. The 'proof' is your choice. If you believe, God exists. Deny God, and God does not exist to you.

However, you might still exist to God ;)

Some people think there must be a god by looking at the things in nature and a how a living body works in all its intricacies (exact details). Then others ask as you did why a god who is supposed to be so cool can let all the horrendous things happen. The bible even tells stories of how the innocent first born babies were taken from their mothers and killed.

These are all good questions. Now think about if there really was not a god and that things that happen are just natural and that evil people do those horrendous things. That life took billions of years to evolve and through that evolution sh** happens. I think it is the latter.

This same question creeps in on a regular basis.

Yes, God created us, He also created the dinosaurs, and he even created the stars, the planets and the universe too - DUH!

There is a problem of suffering on this planet because men reject God's rightful authority and rebel against Him.

People push God out of the picture, then can't understand why all that is left is evil and suffering!

So, my question to you is, are you part of the solution and you obey Jesus and have quit rebelling against His authority? Or are you still part of the problem, living for Self instead of for God?

And He IS doing something about it - He sent ME to tell YOU to repent and quit being part of the problem!

Now, why do you criticize God for not doing anything about it, but then criticize Him for doing something by sending the flood and getting rid of all the evil? That's rather hypocritical of you!

And how do you get off judging God in the first place? Do you sit on the edge of eternity and look at the universe as though it were a globe in the palm of your hand while still watching every detain and keeping everything running smoothly? What kind of arrogance you must have!

You remind me of a neutrino shot out of the neutron of an atom in your shoulder, and in the fraction of a second of it's existence, it criticizes you! Like I said, nothing but arrogance!

When you've lived a few billion years, when you've visited a few million galaxies, when you've had to govern an entire universe, THEN come back and tell me what God is doing wrong!!!

All the bad things in this world exist because God gave us freewill and we choose to turn from God. God gave freewill not just to the good people.

The reason God doesn't just snap his fingers and make everything perfect is because he is waiting. He is giving everyone the opportunity to turn from sin. We read in the Bible that God is not willing that any should perish.

God is a god of mercy and love but he is also a god of righteousness and justice. God is so perfect that he can not even look upon sin. That is why God sent his son Jesus to take our place, to take on the sins of the world. All we have to do is believe that Jesus Christ was God, he died for all the wrong things we have done, and three days later he was raised from the dead.

One day God will set every thing right but he is waiting. he is holding off his judgment to give everyone a chance to come to him.

As far as proof of God goes you can look at the Messianic Prophesies. They were written years and years ( many hundreds of years ) before Jesus was born yet he fulfilled everyone of them. The odds of anyone man being able to do that are astronomical, especially considering many were not under his control.

Secondly, I am going to assume you believe that their was a historical person named Jesus and that he claimed to be God and was crucified.

We can start with Jesus' apostles. They were just ordinary men, fisherman, tax collectors, etc. and when Jesus was arrested they were terrified of being arrested and tortured as well. So what did they do? They ran away.

3 day later something happened to change these men from cowering in a back room to the most bold, courageous, zealous men the world has ever seen.

All but one was tortured and killed for what they claimed and they never once denied or changed their story that Jesus Christ was the son of God and that he was crucified for our sins and was raised from the dead 3 days later.

Why would they die for a lie?

Likewise, Paul was a very educated man and he hated Christians so much that he got permission from the Jewish leaders to hunt down Christians in other cities. Yet something happened to Paul to completely change his thinking to become the most out spoken of the apostles with the most zeal. He wrote most of the New Testament.

Paul never made a fortune, he didn't live in luxury, in fact he was ship wrecked, stoned, beaten, and imprisoned. So why would he still proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord?

Some people say that Jesus wasn't really dead and he just woke up. If you are familiar with Roman crucification that didn't happened. They made sure you were dead. Also, if he had simply woke up a half dead messiah that died later wouldn't have emboldened the apostles.

Some people also claim that they simply went to the wrong tomb but if that was the case why didn't the Jewish leaders simply produce Jesus' body? That would have put a quick end to their claims of a risen Christ.

Some people also claim that the apostles stole the body so that they could claim Jesus had risen. This again doesn't explain why they would die for a lie or how a bunch of men who only days before ran away terrified could suddenly have the courage to take on armed, trained roman soldiers guarding the tomb.

Belief in God does require faith but it is not a blind faith.

If you want more proof I would be happy to share more just let me know but it is 2 in the morning and this is already pretty long.

The existence of God is something one picks up on intuitively. This is a spiritual sense, that not all people have well developed, especially in this overly materialistic, overindulged society we live in. Life is suppose to be a struggle. We are faced with a lot of problems to overcome. We are not doing a very good job of addressing them. So a lot of ugly situations, exist in this world. God is the universal spirit that hold this universe together as one. God represents constructive energy and harmoious energy. God can guide us and inspire us. But, we are left to deal with our own problems and challenges. These challenges are capable of bringing out the best in human potential, if we develop ourselves spiritually, so that we are up to the challenge. Traditional Religions are not doing a good job. We need the latest in good spiritual ideas, and training techniques, to strenghten the human spirit, so that it will make the neccessary sacrifices, and do the hard work required, to transform this world for the better.

Here is some food for thought. When we hear, smell, feel, see, and taste our brain takes electrical messages and then creates our experience. The brain also creates our dreams. Dreams seem very real when we are experiencing them, yet they are not "real". Is it then possible that our brain simply creates our "reality" and that it does not actually exist. Science has been unable to prove that what we experience as reality actually exists.

With that said. Even if the above is true (and I do not claim that it is) there must still exist some energy that makes it all possible. Is it God? Maybe.

I think that God is a human attempt to explain something that is too difficult for us to wrap our heads around.

Hope this offends no one. It is simply intended to provoke some thought. The best way to confirm our convictions about anything (including God) is to have those convictions challenged from time-to-time.

Thank you.

You would have to take a theology class or two to even dig into the questions you have asked. But I'll take a stab at it and see how far I get.

Is there proof God exists? Yes, and no. Some could say the universe's existence, the laws that govern it and hold everything together point to an intelligent creator. Others might say those things are just coincidences of nature and have nothing to do with Deity.

Some point to wars and say that God couldn't exist because otherwise He would intervene and stop them. Others reply by saying God gifted man with the freedom of choice and will not violate that choice even to prevent the slaughter of millions of people by man's own hand.

I am left with the conclusion that one must accept, or not accept, the existance of God by faith. I cannot prove His existance with "facts," though I could logically deduce His existance. Likewise, by faith I could say that I cannot see God and therefore He does not exist, but it would be a measure of faith because I cannot also see air, atoms, black holes, etc.

In my own life I have experienced God. That experience galvanizes my faith and demonstrates to me His existence. Is that proof? To me it is, though it may not by the type of proof you are looking for.

Well, this is an issue long debated in my mind. Some days, I think to myself, "God is great," but on others, I say, "There is no God." The simple answer is that it is all up to you. There is no proof, and there is no proof that a deity somewhere does not exist. It is simply your stance and what you believe to be true. The Bible is what some may see as proof, but it truly isn't. The Bible is not a text book, it is a religous manuscript. Whether you see it as fact or fiction is purely up to you.
2007-11-11 17:26:16 UTC
There should be proof if god exists, but there is none. You cannot use the fact that a bible exists to prove the "facts" stated in the bible. There is no sky pixie. Do you believe in Zues, or Poseidon, or Thor? Now believe in one less. Nothing changes. Religion was created by man for a particular purpose, that purpose is now obsolete.
2007-11-11 17:26:09 UTC
No one knows for sure if there's a God, but regardless of whether or not there is one, just be a good person, therefore, you're fine no matter what happens. If you look at life from a scientific perspective, it is believed that there is no God, but again, science doesn't have all of the answers. Just for the record, I am an atheist for I believe that religion and the belief of a higher power are nothing but contradictory. Either way, we all are going to die, no one, not even your deepest crush is going to overcome death. With that said, try not to worry about it so much and enjoy the one life you do have. Of course, always continue to ask questions and search for answers (isn't that what life is about anyway?).

God did create everything. We may not know how, but we do know that He created all.

There are wars , suffering, starvation, and bad things in the world because we live in a world where we can choose. We (humans) can choose to do good, or we can do bad. We can choose to be selfless and loving, or selfish and hateful. We can choose to make peace, or we can choose to make war.

He "watches us suffer" because He made us with the ability to choose. We reap our own consequences. God does not make us do anything against our will. He made us to love Him, but to choose to do so.

Think about this: If you made your spouse "love" you, would it really be love at all? You would have a very shallow relationship, and the deep down truth is that your spouse may not love you at all, but be submissive because they have to.

God does do many things to help us, unfortunately, we don't see many of them because we are so focused on ourselves. It is easy to explain away miraculous things that contridict what we wish to believe, but the truth will always stand as it is.

Proof that God exists? Plenty. Unfortunately, it doesn't get much media. But for starters, if you believe in evolution and the big bang, explain how it started. Where did the mass come from? Where did the energy to "ignite" the bang come from? How did the two mix? Explain the theories with facts. Not with hypotheses or theories. Facts. Scrutinize your theory and see if it really is true. The whole idea is to find the truth. If you search hard enough, you will find it.

email me at iluv_jchrist@yahoo.com for any other questions, evidences, or anything else. I would enjoy the opportunity to discuss this more with you.

P.S. The Bible was written by over 40 men in the span of appx 1500 years. Look at the historical facts. It's dead on with history. That's how we know it is for real, unlike the Qu'ran and other books.
2007-11-11 18:03:47 UTC
are you here with us? do u have proof? GOD didn't create wars and suffering we did. we are born with the sense to choose right from wrong, when we do wrong we are punished. should GOD prevent us from being punished, then what would stop us from doing it again? look at the animals the many different type the many species the different things they eat how they need each other to survive, the same goes for the plants, they didn't just happen they didn't evolved. if we evolved from monkey why has monkey remain monkey and man remain man? why is there no more evolution? or what are we evolving to be? brainless, clueless, proofless, loveless. Love GOD and live hate GOD and die. "peace"

There are actually multiple proofs for the existence of God. Try this one, it's my personal favorite:

https://answersrip.com/question/index?qid=20070802131808AAc5QUx

Regarding all of the suffering, God made us with a free will because rather than being forced to praise Him as the animals are, He gives us the choice to love Him. Now then, you can freely choose to love Him or reject Him. But it is through rejecting Him that suffering is brought into the world. And He isn't just watching us suffer, He works through you and I to bring peace to the world. If we but cooperate, things will be a whole lot better. Unfortunately, even the best saints fall down sometimes. So what are you going to do?

Till then, this 30 yr ex-atheist believes now. Not just cause of this pic, but due to a few other reasons as well. This pic has had mountains of research and tests done by experts, no answer to what it is. And no, its not a sun glare. There is no proof of God's existence, so I believe that God is either nonexistent or unknowable. I'm about 99.9% sure that the popular omnipotent, omniscent, all loving God is imaginary because, if such a God existed, the world would not be as it is with all the suffering and inequity.

For every Action there is a Reaction.

3rd Law of Physics

God, the Supreme Being, IS this First Action of the entire Universe.

God is the first Cause of all Action.

Scientific Theory Proves without a Doubt the Existence of God.

The rest of the story depends on your acceptance of Science and God or the rejection of God. You will then answer the problems that your grouse about.

What are your actions, of God or of yourself alone?

I believe that we all choose our belief, of a god or no god. The simple facts are that we will all find out sooner or later !! I feel there must be something greater than ourselves, and we should all keep very open minds. If there is a life after death, then right on. enjoy. If not ,you won't know, so don't sweat it. this is just food for thought..........

God does not enjoy seeing us suffer. He loves us so much. He just does not always answer are prayers right away. He knows the past the present and the future of every single person. Have faith in God, stand strong. He will come one day soon. Do not worry, God is taking care of us and will not let something happen that is not his will. Also, find something in this amazing world that does not have God written all over it. He loves us and protects us ( http://a134.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/29/l_07803a75c6db6d0e6006eccab2f2f225.jpg )

It depends on how you interpret the proof. The pain and suffering in this world, not to mention the death, are caused by the sin of Adam. God is doing something about it, namely the reconciling of those he loves through Christ. God doesn't want you to believe in him because he slaps you in the face and says "I'm here" He wants you to put your faith in him based on what you have seen. Don't limit God to your emotional response to the evil in this world.
2007-11-11 17:25:32 UTC
yes He exists. he made dinosaurs, stars, planets, the universe and everything on earth.

God made everything.

the bad things on earth were caused by man's folly. He gave us free choice so we wouldnt be forced to do anything. it's our own fault that there's suffering in the world. God doesnt give us anything we can't handle.

we learn through discpline and harships. if your life was perfect and nothing bad ever happened, we wouldnt learn anything.

well i can understand your questioning but the thing i don't understand is how come when your life is at its high and everything is just wonderful, wen u nd ur friends feel invite, or the moment u actually said 2 ur b/d i luv u nd meant... u WOULDNT dare blame God for anything good that happens in ur life... but the SECOND something bad like war happens... erryone HURRIES to blame no one BUT God... nd did u ever think think this world deserves suffering, i mean of all the ppl do... for instance right now blaming him, going against his will having homsexuality, doing drugs nd drinking... i think it's safe 2 say that erryone deserves a lot of this suffering... nd those poor children have no one 2 blame but their parents.. b/c of their ancestors decisions they will have 2 live a life of suffering nd misery... i hope u choose the right path

God created everything. When He was completed God said ," It is good". Then God put man in charge of everything that is good. Then man started to consume all that was good and pervert it to his own gain. Man feed cows meat and God made cows to eat grass and vegetation. Cows were feed meat and developed mad cow's disease. Whose fault is that? God's or the continuation of man's ways and there is a price for or perversion. Proof is in the perception of the beholder.

God isn't watching us suffer. In all reality he is watching us get stronger. Have you heard the phrase "what can't kill you can only make you stronger"? He is testing us. We have to prove to Him and ourselves that we have the strength to make it through life. And doesn't that mean he wants us to grow stronger through all of our problems. And he does help us if we truly need it. He gave us his Son. And His Son gave us His life not only for overcoming sin, but to also stand through our trials. Hope this helps.

I think God exist not due to the information that has been gathered through religion but do to the fact that we conceptualize his existence.

The fact that we conceptualize a God and even conceptualize what perfection is for that matter, despite never experiencing it.

Think about it. How come we compare things to perfection despite never experiencing perfection?

Thats because God is perfection, therefore he exist. As we strive to get more perfect, we in essence strive to be more in touch with God.

You want him to help? How about how he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins. Now you have a chance to get to heaven. If you're starving and your a good person, a few decades of hardship is nothing compared to the eternity you will spend in the kingdom of heaven. And if your starving and an asshole, you diserve your hardship here and the hell you will end up in.

This is the proof

Vedanta -A style of living

Vedanta is the concluding portion of the Vedas. Vedanta is the essence of the

Vedas. The Upanishads are rightly called the Vedanta. The goal of the man is the

realization of Supreme .Self realization alone can dispel ignorance and bestow

immortality, eternal bliss, and ever lasting peace. Knowledge of Supreme alone

can remove all sorrows, delusion, and pain.

Vedanta upholds the reality of the indivisible, immanent and transcendent

spirit. It does not exclude matter. It does not exclude anything .The oneness of

all existence is the message which Vedanta teaches. It has kept Indian society

alive for the last several thousand of years.

Vedanta is the only bold philosophy which dares call man god, not merely the

son of god, or his servant. It proclaims with emphasis that you are the

immortal, All pervading Atman, the universal soul, or Supreme Brahman in essence

in reality,. Boldness is the keynotes of Vedanta. The message of Vedanta is

fearlessness, Soul force and unity of consciousness.

Vedanta does not ask for converts or proselytes, but a deeper reassessment of

the divine- human equation, a return to the fundamental question of every being:

“what am I really? What is my real self?” Vedanta proclaims: “Man, in essence,

is identical with the supreme Being”.

Vedanta denotes one’s identity with the best of humanity. According to

Vedanta, there is no stranger in this world

Every one is related to one another in the kinship of the spirit. In Vedanta ,

there is no mine and for me; but ours and for us; and ultimately, His Or for Him

.If the Vedanta philosophy is rightly understood and acted up to, then it will

obliterate all evils that emanates from factional and racial prejudices.

Vedanta is no creed, no ceremony or form of worship. It is the science of right

living. It is not the sole monopoly of the Indians or the recluses. It is for

all.

Vedanta has no quarrel with any religion whatsoever. It preaches universal

principles .Vedanta encloses within its sphere all the religions of the world

and is strong enough to make them all useful and enduring. Vedanta never

interferes with forms .It concern itself solely with the life of religions. The

Christian need not renounce his Christianity, The Buddhist may stick to his

Noble eight fold path, The Mohammedan may stick to his Koran and yet all these

may follow the Vedanta and realize in practice all its high ideals and truths.

Their love to their respective prophets and Bibles will become more sober, more

enlightened, and more enduring. Religious animosity will vanish and the world

will move. Religious animosity will vanish and the world will move on to its

great end without any friction, with greater dignity and more goodwill among its

denizens.

Vedanta means no slavery. It gives freedom to all. It never condemns any man

as beyond hope, never looks upon anyone as accused, but takes all mankind its

fold. Vedanta is extremely catholic and liberal in its outlook. Vedanta can

offer to the modern society a common faith, a common body of principles, and

common moral principles. It is highly scientific in outlook and has a real

appeal to men and women today.

It is Vedanta alone that can eradicate totally human sufferings and can bring

ever lasting peace and happiness. Even a little understanding and a little

practice of Vedanta can raise a man to magnanimous heights of Brahman hood or

God- consciousness and remove all sorts of fears, worries and anxieties of this

mundane life.

What is present in smallest of the smallest (in atoms), and what is present in biggest of the biggest ,(in the universe) and the as life principle in the living things, it is from the beginning and now and for ever, apart from this nothing exists. Upanishad gives definition like this. One can see pure science in this explanation: the revolution of electrons and spinning of the nuclei in atoms, the rotation and revolution of earth, the solar system, the galaxy and so on are all guided from within the system and this force which gives energy and guidance for their movement is known as supreme(Brahman) . It is the same energy manifested as (jeevathma ) bio chemical energy in living being which controls the heart, lungs, the liver, the blood circulation, the sensory organs, the functional organs, etc. in animals.

It is said that there are two states of Supreme (Brahman)

The extreme active state in observation known as saguna and inactive state in observation as nirguna supreme the two states are complimentary and never contradictory. In an atom ,the electrons are revolving at a fantastic speed /velocity but the materials which are composed by this atoms are seen in nirguna (without rotating or spinning). The earth rotates and revolves at a high speed (saguna state) but people living in this globe earth do not feel the speed(nirguna state in observation) . Our heart/liver/ lungs/ each and every tissue functions/work for 24 hrs (in saguna state), but the body does not feel that (particularly when sleeping) such a series of biochemical processes are going on inside(nirguna state)

Worship means understanding of this ultimate so that human being can behave or follow virtues in tune with this law of the universe

But this principle to be remembered always that is called prayer.

Because the same omnipotent ,omnipresent is only exiting in nature , Aham Brahma asmi- ( I am that divine power) thath thwam asi ( You are also the same divine power). It is also as life force hence ayam athma brahma ( this life force/energy is Brahman) and it is manifested as the inherent intrinsic consciousness and awareness, hence Prajanam Brahma ( that glorious knowledge is Bhahman)

They should act what they have to do in their own position in this world without any reward or result

As we learn the laws that govern our welfare are identical with cosmic law, we rebel no longer and the chief cause our turbulence is removed.. The trained mathematician does not try to work out his problem contrary to the rules of the mathematics; a chemist in his experiments does not petulantly disobey the laws of chemistry. No true scientist puts himself in rivalry with the universe, nor does he defy it; he cooperates with it. If we will make the universe our ally and confirm to its larger law, instead of living and acting and acting in obedience to the lesser law of our individual will, the whole universe will sustain us under attack and we shall develop a habit of serenity which cannot be broken

religion was created to control people, i mean think about it, one of the comandments says not to kill, yet more people have been killed in the name of god than for any other reason throughout history

Where have you BEEN for the last many years?

Delete god from your mind and all makes sense.

It's really easy.
