The Sabbath is from Friday Evening to Saturday Evening; Jews still keep it as some christians. No work is to be done this day.

Jesus himself told us to keep this day (John 4:22-24).

"Ye worship ye know not what; we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews." John 4:22

Notice Jesus was saying that we should worship Saturday like the Jews.

Look Sabbath up in Encyclopaedia Americana, Vol.24, pp.68-69.

The Calendar also tells us the 7th day is Saturday.

If you look up Genesis 1:8; it tells us that the evening and morning were the second day. Lev.23:32 says from evening to evening to celebrate the Sabbath.

GENESIS 2:2-3 "AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY GOD ENDED HIS WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE; AND HE RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH HE HAD MADE. AND GOD BLESSED THE THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: BECAUSE THAT IN IT HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH GOD CREATED AND MADE." {sanctify = to set apart; make holy}

EXODUS 20:8-11 "REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY. SIX DAYS SHALT THOU LABOUR, AND DO ALL THY WORK: BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: IN IT THOU SHALT NOT DO ANY WORK, THOU, NOR THY SON, NOR THY DAUGHTER, THY MANSERVANT, NOR THY MAIDSERVANT, NOR THY CATTLE, NOR THY STRANGER THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES: FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IN THEM IS, AND RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY: WHEREFORE THE LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY, AND HALLOWED IT." {the 4th Commandment}

REV.14:7 "SAYING WITH A LOUD VOICE, FEAR GOD, AND GIVE GLORY TO HIM; FOR THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGEMENT IS COME; AND WORSHIP HIM THAT MADE HEAVEN, AND EARTH, AND THE SEA, AND THE FOUNTAINS OF WATER."{fear God means reverence him; also this text points back to the 4th Commandment}

LEV.23:3 "SIX DAYS SHALL WORK BE DONE: BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF REST, AN HOLY CONVOCATION; YE SHALL DO NO WORK THERIN: IT IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD IN ALL YOUR DWELLINGS."

DEUT.5:12-14 "KEEP THE SABBATH DAY TO SANCTIFY IT, AS THE LORD THY GOD HATH COMMANDED THEE. SIX DAYS SHALT THOU LABOUR, AND DO ALL THY WORK: BUT THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: IN IT THOU SHALT NOT DO ANY WORK, THOU, NOR THY SON, NOR THY DAUGHTER, THY MANSERVANT, NOR THY MAIDSERVANT, NOR THINE OX, NOR THINE ***, NOR ANY OF THINE CATTLE, NOR THY STRANGER THAT IS WITHIN THY GATES: THAT THY MANSERVANT AND THY MAIDSERVANT MAY REST AS WELL AS THOU."

{Jesus's Example= "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:..-1PETER 2:21}

LUKE 4:16 "AND HE CAME TO NAZARETH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN BROUGHT UP: AND, AS HIS CUSTOM WAS, HE WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE SABBATH DAY, AND STOOD UP TO READ."

MARK 2:23-28 "AND IT CAME TO PASS, THAT HE WENT THROUGH THE CORN FIELDS ON THE SABBATH DAY; AND HIS DISCIPLES BEGAN, AS THEY WENT, TO PLUCK THE EARS OF CORN. AND THE PHARISEES SAID UNTO HIM, BEHOLD, WHY DO THEY ON THE SABBATH DAY THAT WHICH IS NOT LAWFUL? AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, HAVE YE NEVER READ WHAT DAVID DID, WHEN HE HAD NEED, AND WAS AN HUNGRED, HE, AND THEY THAT WERE WITH HIM? HOW HE WENT INTO THE HOUSE OF GOD IN THE DAYS OF ABIATHAR THE HIGH PRIEST, AND DID EAT THE SHEW BREAD, WHICH IS NOT LAWFUL TO EAT BUT FOR THE PRIESTS, AND GAVE ALSO TO THEM WHICH WERE WITH HIM? AND HE SAID UNTO THEM, THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN, AND NOT MAN FOR THE SABBATH: THEREFORE THE SON OF MAN IS LORD ALSO OF THE SABBATH." {The Pharisees thought his disciples were breaking the Sabbath by plucking and eating corn; but Jesus told them it wasn't work. Jesus healed on the sabbath as helped people. On the Sabbath day you can even warm meals as boil water for oatmeal on the Sabbath. The work that you cannot do is cooking meals because it takes an hour or hours to cook or by staying in the fields to do hard labor or cleaning, shopping in the store, eating at restaurants and etc. The Pharisees were putting their laws on people. But Jesus came back to them, when he said "the Sabbath was made for man".}

{Apostles kept the Sabbath--Eph.2:20}

ACTS 17:2 "AND PAUL, AS HIS MANNER WAS, WENT IN UNTO THEM, AND THREE SABBATH DAYS REASONED WITH THEM OUT OF THE SCRIPTURES."

ACTS 18:4 "AND HE REASONED IN THE SYNAGOGUE EVERY SABBATH, AND PERSUADED THE JEWS AND THE GREEKS."

Now let's see if the Catholics know when the seventh day is.

"Ques.--Which is the Sabbath day?

"Ans.--Saturday is the Sabbath day.

"Ques.--Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

"Ans.--We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."--Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the "apostolic blessing" of Pope Pius x on his labors, Jan.25,1910. [bible readings pg.194]

"The Catholic Church...by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday."--The Catholic Mirror, official organ of Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893.

***Dan.7:25 "he shall think to change times and laws"

You said, "WHY DOES IT MATTER". It does when it comes down to it; you either have God's Seal(Rev.7:2-3) of the Sabbath Saturday or Satan's Mark(Rev.13:18; Rev.14:8-10; Deut.17:3) Sunday--the day of the sun.

Now there are other Sabbaths too; they're called Sabbath Feast Days. They are mentioned in the Bible too. LEV.23}

JESUS & THE APOSTLES KEEP THE SABBATH FEAST DAYS.

******************************...

JOHN 7:2,14 "NOW THE JEWS' FEAST OF TABERNACLES WAS AT HAND. NOW ABOUT THE MIDST OF THE FEAST JESUS WENT UP INTO THE TEMPLE AND TAUGHT."

MARK 14:12 "AND THE FIRST DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, WHEN THEY KILLED THE PASSOVER, HIS DISCIPLES SAID UNTO HIM, WHERE WILT THOU THAT WE GO AND PREPARE THAT THOU MAYEST EAT THE PASSOVER?."

{The Apostles kept the Sabbath Feast Days}

ACTS 2:1 "AND WHEN THE DAY OF PENTECOST WAS FULLY COME, THEY WERE ALL WITH ONE ACCORD IN ONE PLACE."

ACTS 20:6 "AND WE SAILED AWAY FROM PHILIPPI AFTER THE DAYS OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, AND CAME UNTO THEM TO TROAS IN FIVE DAYS; WHERE WE ABODE SEVEN DAYS."

ACTS 20:16 "FOR PAUL HAD DETERMINED TO SAIL BY EPHESUS, BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT SPEND THE TIME IN ASIA: FOR HE HASTED, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE FOR HIM, TO BE AT JERUSALEM THE DAY OF PENTECOST."

ROM.5:11 "AND NOT ONLY SO, BUT WE ALSO JOY IN GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, BY WHOM WE HAVE NOW RECEIVED THE ATONEMENT."

1COR.5:6-8 "YOUR GLORIFYING IS NOT GOOD. KNOW YE NOT THAT A LITTLE LEAVEN LEAVENTH THE WHOLE LUMP? PURGE OUT THEREFORE THE OLD LEAVEN,{bread, sin, corn,dust and dirt---(Lev.23:14)leavening agents are yeast, baking soda and baking powder}THAT YE MAY BE A NEW LUMP, AS YE ARE UNLEAVENED. FOR EVEN CHRIST OUR PASSOVER IS SACRIFICED FOR US: THEREFORE LET US KEEP THE FEAST, NOT WITH OLD LEAVEN, NEATHER WITH THE LEAVEN OF MALICE AND WICKEDNESS; BUT WITH THE UNLEAVENED BREAD OF SINCERITY AND TRUTH."

1COR.16:8 "BUT I WILL TARRY AT EPHESUS UNTIL PENTECOST."

1THESS.4:16 "FOR THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT, WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, AND WITH THE TRUMP OF GOD: AND THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST:..." {feast of trumpets}

{7th Day Sabbath & God's Feasts in both kingdoms of heaven}

ISAIAH 66:22-23 "FOR AS THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, WHICH I WILL MAKE, SHALL REMAIN BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD, SO SHALL YOUR SEED AND YOUR NAME REMAIN.AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER, AND FROM ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER, SHALL ALL FLESH COME TO WORSHIP BEFORE ME, SAITH THE LORD."

ZECHARIAH 14:1,16-19 "BEHOLD, THE DAY OF THE LORD COMETH, AND THY SPOIL SHALL BE DIVIDED IN THE MIDST OF THEE. AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS, THAT EVERY ONE THAT IS LEFT OF ALL THE NATIONS WHICH CAME AGAINST JERUSALEM SHALL EVEN GO UP FROM YEAR TO YEAR TO WORSHIP THE KING, THE LORD OF HOSTS, AND TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES. AND IT SHALL BE, THAT WHOSO WILL NOT COME UP OF ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH UNTO JERUSALEM TO WORSHIP THE KING, THE LORD OF HOSTS, EVEN UPON THEM SHALL BE NO RAIN.

AND IF THE FAMILY OF EGYPT GO NOT UP, AND COME NOT, THAT HAVE NO RAIN; THERE SHALL BE THE PLAGUE, WHEREWITH THE LORD WILL SMITE THE HEATHEN THAT COME NOT UP TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES.

THIS SHALL BE PUNISHMENT OF EGYPT, AND THE PUNISHMENT OF ALL NATIONS THAT COME NOT UP TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES."

{So if you see Sabbath Feasts Calendar; it will explain all of these. Now for example:}

Before the Passover; you have to get the leaven out of your dwelling.

Passover of 2007 is the evening of April 1. What you do is prepare--do blessing of passover--drink wine in a small glass followed by unleavened bread; you also do footwashing; this is all done in your house with believers of family or church members--Also you say sorry for your sins before you partake of the Lord's Supper. 1Cor.11:20-28.

Unleavened Bread--First and last day is Holy, so no work; you do worship that day!

No bread, dust, dirt or corn anywhere til Unleavened Bread has past.

Pentecost--receive God's Spirit. It is a holy day; you do worship that day.

Feast of Trumpets--Worship and Holy Day.

Day of Atonement(Yom Kippur)--a day for fasting and repentance; abstain completely from food and drink; keep holy, do worship--Lev.23:7-8.

Feast of Tabernacles--the first day & 8th day is holy; do worship

Usually you can go to a Motel, seperate dwelling place or tent you can live in during this period. My family do the tent during the feast.

***There's a free booklet called "The Holy Days--God's Master Plan" from my church; you just have to request it. You can look up this site: http://lcg.org

The Sabbath is most often Saturday for the Jewish sect. However the Christians met together on the first day of the week, which was Sunday....But God says in Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

You can worhip the Lord EVERY day...or Saturday or the Lord's day of Sunday...as long as it is the Lord Jesus Christ that you are giving worship to!

Actually, there are two types of Sabbaths: A regular one, and a special one.

The "regular" Sabbath begins on Friday night at sundown, and ends on Saturday night at sundown.

God made the "day" begin at sundown so that neither the sun nor the moon could rule the "day". The day begins when the sun ends, taking away the illusion that the sun is some sort of "god", and the moon never stays in the night, taking away it's illusion of being a "god" as well.

Ask any Jew, and they will tell you the Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday night at sundown.

As for the "special" Sabbath, it begins at sundown at the end of Passover, regardless of when the regular Sabbath is.

If Passover begins on Tuesday night, a "special Sabbath" begins on Wednesday night.

This is also used to explain how the Messiah actually died on a Wednesday rather than on a Friday.

Tuesday was Passover. He had to be buried before sundown because Wednesday night began the special Passover. Wednesday night and Thursday day were Sabbath, preventing Miriam from performing a proper burial for the Messiah. Friday, Miriam had to do the shopping and prepare meals for the regular Sabbath, so she still had no time to perform the proper burial for the Messiah, so she went to the tomb on Sunday before the sun rose, and found it empty. He was allready out before the sun rose on Sunday morning.

So, the Messiah was in the tomb Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night, and rose Saturday night, which in God's definition, is actually the beginning of Sunday. That would be a full 72 hours plus .. completing three days.

It's the seventh day of the week, or we can also call it's the first day of a new week -the Lord's day, the day when God retired from His hard work of creation - so it's sunday.

But in the years of 300s something, when some Mr. Constantine in Constantinope had a big compromise with Christian church, in which the church would gain allies from other religions (pagans, it's said) and had more favors. Of course, you can see that, beside the change of the name (to sunday), there are halos above the heads of Jesus, angels, saints, all of them, which was oringinally the sun from Sun-worshippers' gods. And look at GOD himself, dont you think he looks like Zeus?

(But really, your eyes scared me, I should have not answered all these!!!)

In the beginning, the calendar wasn't invented. It has been invented and reinvented many times over.

In Europe the week starts on Monday, so Sunday is the 7th day.

In American Sunday is actually the first.

It's true that Sun-Day was sacred to the Sun God, but Mon-Day is sacred to the Moon, Tuesday the God of War (Germanic Tyr, in Latin Mars, in French Mardi) Wednesday Wodan (Or Mercury, in French, Mercredi) Thursday sacred to Juno (Jeudi), Friday Freya or Venus (Vendredi) and Saturday Saturn.

*shrug*

Just pick a day, count to seven, have a sabbath, and start over.

I think your God just wanted to make sure everyone took a break and remembered him every 7 days. I don't think He cares much which day of the week it is.

Now, if we I could just convince my boss to give me MY sabbath days off (I'll work Sundays! Come on, it's just twice a month and 8 holidays a year!) Then I'd be a happy camper.

I believe the sabbath is more a guideline, God told the Israelites to have a day of rest and worship, and we today should also make time to do that. I don't get too bothered about having a whole day put aside for that, life's not like that these days, but I certainly pray, rest and worship a lot during the week, as well as at church.

Sabbath always was from sundown Friday evening to sundown Saturday evening, making Saturday the Scriptural sabbath. Honoring it is even one of the 10 Commandments.

It is noted that the Sabbath is a recurring message in the Bible, mentioned in the Creation account, at Sinai, in the ministry of Jesus Christ and in the ministries of the apostles.

There is no evidence of the Sabbath being changed to Sunday in the Bible. It was changed by the early church in Rome to distinguish themselves from the Jews and to align themselves with political authorities. This change became more universally accepted with the establishment of Roman emperor Constantine's Sunday law of 321 AD and the decree at the Council of Laodicea that in canon 29 declared that Christians should avoid work on Sunday. Changing of the day from Saturday to Sunday is fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies found in Daniel 7 which points to a human authority attempting to change biblical laws. The Roman Catholic church is this prophetic figure as can be seen in such publications as the 1977 edition of The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine which reads:

"Q. Which is the Sabbath day?

"A. Saturday is the Sabbath day.

"Q. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?

"A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

What is the truth about the Sabbath Day?

One very controversial subject among Christians today is Gods Seventh Day Sabbath. Some Christians are not even aware the Sabbath is Saturday.

The Bible tells us clearly in Daniel that a persecuting power would change God’s laws of which it did – the Seventh Day Sabbath became the first day Sabbath without God’s approval. The book of Daniel also refers to this change of God's law by this antichrist power as reaching to the host of heaven and trampling the heavenly sanctuary under foot. We find the same expression used in Hebrews chapter ten in reference to wilful sin,

Hebrews 10:26-29 “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose you, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

This verse tells us that there remains no more sacrifice for deliberate sin and to continue in sin is to trample the Son of God under foot and to treat Christ's work on the cross as an unholy thing despite the fact we are under grace. This is a warning we should take very seriously.

This change to the Sabbath came about over hundreds of years and by the death of millions and millions of Christians. This is another fact that most Christians are unaware of.

sabbath was and should still be saturday!! in short, jews worship on saturday, Jesus was a jew, you can do the math...the bible is the real source for your questions, but here's a couple of pointers to get you thinking:

1) no where in the bible does God give man, church or anygroup the authority to change his word (the bible)

2) the bible was inspired by God, for man. it is not inspired by man, influenced maybe, but the bible is truth, the 4th commandment is truth, the sabbath was kept by the jews as saturday and theefore should be kept by the christians as saturday also.

did you know that if all christians realised the answer to you question, it would cause a ripple effect in mainly the catholic church, but all sunday keeping worshippers. that is why i say listening to the people here is cool, but read the bible yourself and you'll know...the truth will set you free...god bless

Jews believe it is Saturday.

Christians believe it is Sunday.

In Genesis (the first book of the Bible - Christians' holy book, and the first book of the Torah - Jews' holy book), the story of creation tells that God rested on the seventh day. This is open to interpretation because some people believe the week starts on sunday whereas others believe it starts on monday.

the sabbath is any day that is set aside purely for worship. Traditionally it used to be a Saturday, then CoE changed it to Sunday. But in this day and age people are often working over the weekends, so like i said any day of the week that is set aside.

Well im pretty sure the Jewish sabbath goes from dusk on friday till dusk on saturday. That's the original sabbath.

Personally I don't consider sunday a day of rest or even a day I should go to church as I should be in relationship with god everyday - it doesn't matter WHICH day I go to church as long as I go really often.
anonymous
2006-06-21 04:20:28 UTC
Actually, it depends on what day of the week it really was when God began creating everything.

Christians view His day of rest as being Sunday. Other religions see it as Saturday.

"Remember to keep the Sabbath holy. Work and get everything done during six days each week, but the seventh day is a day of rest to honor the Lord your God. On that day no one may do any work: not you, your son or daughter, your male or female slaves, your animals, or the foreigners living in your cities. The reason is that in six days the Lord made everything -- the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in them. On the seventh day he rested. So the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. "

It is not hard to count to seven.

The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a "" lasting covenant.""

It will be a sign between me and the Israelites "" forever, "" for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.'"

2006-06-21 06:45:03 UTC
The Bible does not actually say what day of the week matches up to the days of Creation. We have decided, culturally, to see the week starting when it starts, and ending when it ends.

The Commandment about observing the Sabbath day only commands one day of the week for rest, not which day.

One's culture defines the calendar you use... for Christians, Sunday is the seventh day, for Jews, Saturday is.
anonymous
2006-06-21 04:40:09 UTC
Even dictionaries show that Sunday is the first day of the week.

Then true Christians should observe saturday (the seventh day of the week) as the sacred day of the Lord our God.

E.g Luke 4v16,Exodus 20v8-11,Revelation 1v10.

Its a tough call when it comes to which day is the sabbath. The Lord says for us to keep the sabbath holy, but according to the scriptures this is what it says about work and the sabbath..

Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

There are so many people who's work week starts on a different day than the rest of the world. Their end of their work week might fall on tuesday, or a different day of the week. The point is that you keep one day set asside for the Lord, making it your sabbath day to worship HIm. It would be great if every one's weeks were exactly the same, but they are not. We must honor our Lord every day, and set asside one day for Him in worship.

That is true. Historically, Christianity has weakened other religions by taking over or incorporating their own practices into those of others. I think the holy day was Saturday originally.

As we all know - thanks to the advance of science - the seven days of the Biblical creation story weren't actually 24 hour days. Each day could last millions of years.

So too then, with the day of rest. My theory is that the day of rest began on October 14th, 34,587 BC and will end on January 3rd 28,684,226 AD. I don't have any facts to back that up, but you don't seem to need facts when interpreting the Bible. So if you don't believe me: tough titty, you heretic.

One day in seven is sufficient.

The first day of the first month, that is Hebrew, is the spring equinox at sunset.

So it can fall on any day of the week.

Actually it covers two of our days sunset to sunset.

One day in seven is sufficient.

There's biblical "allegory" and "mystery" to solve concerning "the Sabbath", or "the seventh" day (Saturday: Friday sundown to Saturday sundown), since there is also "the Sabbath" that is "made for man" (and not man for the Sabbath), in which the "Son of man" is "Lord also" of the Sabbath: Mark 2:23-28.

This Sabbath, of this/that (law/grace) Sabbaths to sort out, would be both one too many Sabbaths (sevenths), and have one too many Lords of the Sabbath. Not to mention the Son of man (Jesus: born under the law, and of woman) is partial & divisional (Mt 25; Mt 10:34; Lk 12:51), also vengeful to all (Lk 17; Revelation), as in the days of Noe; Whereas the Son of God (Christ: "the end of the law": Rom 10:4, "the author of eternal salvation": Heb 5, "our peace" who abolished the law: Eph 2:14) is neither partial nor divisional (Mt 22:16; 1Cor 1:13), also merciful(perfect: Eph 4) and peaceful(Jn 14:27) to all.

As to your question about 'God's Sabbath day', the answer would even depend on which "God" of two Gods you might be referring to; Such as "the only true God" of false/true Gods, "the only wise God" of foolish/wise Gods, "that God" of this/that Gods, "the living God" of dead/living Gods, which is "the God of all grace". The Sabbath of "that God" is light(only) having "no darkness at all" would be graceful; Whereas the Sabbath of the OT God would be lawful, which is why Pharisees asked Jesus why his disciples did that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath, such as picking corn to eat.

Besides the weekly Sabbath, there are two Sabbaths to biblically sort out. For during the passover week of the crucifixion two Sabbaths notably occured: a "high" Sabbath day in the midst of the week (preceeded by "preparation day"), and a higher Sabbath day at the end of the week.

And at the first of the week (Sunday) following passover week, when the Marys went to the tomb before sunrise, the tomb was already empty. And, let us also consider the warning that "false Christs shall arise". So there is lots of "mystery" to solve in the Bible that defines itself as "allegory" in both "covenants": Gal 4, and as "mystery" over 20 times. And every good mystery has lots of twists to it.

Revelation also occurs on the Sabbath, which is evident by the seven benedictions ("blessed...") mentioned therein; which only occured on the Sabbath in the OT; For the other six days there were 18 benedictions spoken by priest within and people without the temple, but on the Sabbath only seven were spoken (not to mention then the people were without). However Revelation "prophecy" x 7 is written as a "latter end worse" case scenario to avoid, and as "prophecies" that "shall fail": 1Cor 13, wherein there are notably "seven spirits" mentioned, as if "seven other spirits more wicked" (Mt 12:45; Lk 11:26) returning to man as the latter end "worse", of such a man as John, who turned back to the law behind him, notably while in the spirit on the Lord's day. Not to mention what he saw, being turned by the loud voice behind him, and in the midst of seven candlestick churches, was one like the "Son of man", rather than the Son of God... which things are an allegory, and a mystery.

The (eternal) Sabbath day(light) of God, the God of all grace, wherein God rested (being at peace), is biblically also called "the day(light) of God". And notably both (Father) God and Son (of God) work "hitherto" such Sabbath rest(peace): jn 5:17, which is to say Father & Son still work 24/7 "hitherto" such true and everlasting peace(rest) of the God of all grace, who is "perfect"(Mt 5:48), and "also merciful"(Lk 6:36) to all (there is no respect of persons with God); which is also written as a "be"-attitude (be ye perfect, also merciful), to be God like and Christ like.

And such peace(rest) with God is notably "through Jesus->Christ", as if through division to peace, as if through the door, way, from death (by law) to life (by grace), and the "Christ" thereof, in which "that God" was notably in (2Cor 5:19), reconciling the world unto himself(the God of all grace), is "the end of the law": Rom 10:4... to have an eternal Sabbath day(light) that is graceful, merciful, and peaceful rather than awful lawful; Which is to say "higher" than "high" (be not highminded), or "higher than the heavens" of the Majesty(God) on "high"(Heb 1:3) in the (plural & divided) "heavens"(Heb 8:1), heavens divided left/right, as if a law heaven and a grace heaven, to the left hand and to the right hand of this God(Majesty) on high in the heavens.

As for Christ-ians meeting on Sunday rather than Saturday, it can be reasoned the disciples were assembled on the first of the week: Jn 20:19, and concerning collection for the saints Paul makes mention of the first of the week: 1Cor 16:2. For if the firstfruit [be] holy, the lump [is] also [holy]. Not to mention when wisdom from above (Grace unto you from God) is "firstly" pure, then it's also firstly peace-able of seven things in James 3:17. Which is to say if Sunday (first of the week) is grace us, then the whole week is grace us, even unto the seventh day being graceful rather than awful lawful.

Perhaps we are now (beyond 2000AD) in what could be allegorically considered a Sabbath shewdown, between two last days, such as "the day of the LORD" (comes as a thief, in the night, as a day of wrath, vengeance, fierce anger, etc) and "the day of God" (peace, rest thereof) spoken of by converted Peter in 2Pet 3; In which he notes we all are one should be looking for, and hasting unto, the day of God, of two such last days (seventh days). Which is to say we all should be looking for and hasting unto the light of God, which is to allegory say the grace of God.

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
