John 1:14 King James Bible
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Why did God make God flesh instead of becoming flesh

Because this passage of scripture, one of many others, that clarifies that God is the Father. He sent his SON, Jesus Christ to the earth as a sacrifice, to atone for the sins of mankind. It would not be a sacrifice to pay the price for sin, if there was no cost to it. God is the Father. Jesus Christ is the Son.

1) was the word made from nothing

No. The description of the Word being made flesh is found in the beginning of the gospels of Matthew and Luke.

You are - surprisingly - confusing the making of the Word itself (it was not made) and the very different concept of the Word being made flesh (which happened about 2,000 years ago). The passage quoted describes the Word being made flesh. It does not describe the Word being made.

2) why did God have to make God flesh?

He didn't, nor does the passage quoted describe such a thing. God does not HAVE to do things. You seem to think that God is forced to do things. That is NOT the case.

3) Why did God make God flesh instead of becoming flesh

This is like asking, "Why was milk made into ice cream instead of becoming ice cream." It's two different ways of describing the very same transformation in the English language. The questions - yours and my example - are nonsensical.

The promises of God in the old testament included.

"I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel..."

In answer I think its the change of language being less used today than say 30-50 years prior.

The Word of God has to do with speaking the worlds in to existance .

That is part of the Power of God as Creator.

Coming by his chief messenger of the new covenant was Jesus Christ whom is part of the godhead.

We realize that flesh will grow back in the resurrection time the Lord appoints in Ezeikiel 37.

Jesus Christ fulfilled many hundreds of prophecies in His earthly coming.

So Messiah/Jesus Christ dwelt among us and "...knew Him not"

Perhaps to not include heathen religions beliefs.

Christ incarnate differs than doctrines of re incarnation.

praise God and Jesus Christ that there is much learning in simply English to understand and avoid pitfalls of false doctrines and deceptions.

You're kind of missing the point here. "The Word" is God's authority. As such, he was made flesh (born as Jesus) and lived on Earth. Thus God did become flesh. God could not literally become flesh, as no human is supposed to be able to comprehend God's physical form and no earthly form that we could perceive could contain Him.

Because God's intention was to become one of us to live with us. Adam messed that up by bringing death upon all of us. In Genesis God repented that he had ever made man or did you miss that part. So he still became flesh as planned but he knew he would die which was his own punishment that he made man. But his death because he was God paid for all the sins of man. Just believe that it happened and accept this ticket to heaven which is the Paradise that God had planned originally.

The Word Of God is Jesus Christ, the son of God..God made him human so he could die for our sins.Jesus was the only acceptable sacrifice. If we don't accept his forgiveness for our wrongs, then we will have to pay the penalty ourselves in The Lake of Fire. Not good.Look into this stuff, look for God,and you will find him.

Testing the Spirits

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus[a] is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world. 4 Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and whoever is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Here is how the trinity works…..and it’s not really that hard of a concept to understand “you can see it all over his creation if you are willing to look”.

Heavenly Truth:

God = the son (jesus) + Father + Holly spirit………….One God not three Gods

God : the son (jesus) - Luke 1:35, John 3:16, 1 John 5:20 (see names of God below)

defines individual personality of the SON (Jesus) - God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 ). He is the savior.

God: the father - 2 corinthians 6:18, Romans 8:15, 1 John 3:1 (See names of God below)

Defines the individual personality of the father - All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away (John 6:37). He does the calling.

God: the Holy spirit – Matthew 3: 16-17, Acts 5: 3-4, Romans: 16-17 (see names of God below)

Defines the individual personality of the holy spirit - But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (john 16:13)

One in essence.... all co-equal (one no more important that the other)…each with a specific job to do (individual personality)…all need to agree in order to get the job done.

Earthly example (so that you may understand):

US government = Legistrative branch + executive branch + judicial branch……..One US Governments not three US governments.

US government: legistrative branch (responsibilities of the legistrative branch define its personality)

US government: executive branch (responsibilities of the executive branch define its personality)

US government: Judicial branch (Responsibilities of the judicial branch define its personiality)

The bible does teach the truth of the trinity..if you can answer yes to any of these questions with a yes answer, then maybe it isn’t true?

1. Can the US do something God can’t do…?

2. Is not all things possible with God?

3. Is God not the creator of all things?

Another example of a triune existence…humans are said in scripture to exist in the following components.

Body…. world consciousness (the body has its function that define its personality)

Soul…..self-consciousness (The soul has its functions that define its personality)

Spirit…..God consciousness (The spirit has its functions that define its personality)

I Thessalonians 5: 23 -- And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto [at] the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2: 7 -- And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground ... (body)

Genesis 2: 7 -- And the Lord God formed man [man's body] of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Soul)

Genesis 1: 27 -- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Spirit)

Verses where Jesus is said to be God, just 4 verses here do you need more….?

Luke 4:12: Jesus answered, "It is said: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test

Matthew 4-7: Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Titus 1:3: It is by the command of God our Savior that I have been entrusted with

John 20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Mark 2: 1-12, mark 14: 60-62, Luke 22: 67 – 70, John 18:33-37, John 10:30, John 14:9, John 14:10, Revelation 19:16

You're splitting hairs. "Became flesh" is a legitimate translation of the Greek.
2013-08-28 18:59:29 UTC
It's an interpretation. Just like when we say that atheists make themselves miserable and are self made anti-Christ's.

Imagined god made nothing man only wrote about it in an old story!!!
John 3:16

It was the new mode of His being.
