I'd drive less -- but I can convert one of my vehicles to "bio-diesel" in about an hour, so I'd still be able to get around.

My home is already substantially "off the grid" -- I have solar panels and wind generators, and can run everything with the "grid" completely off.

Finally, your hypothetical is rather silly -- yes, oil is a limited resource. But we have a pretty good idea about how much remains in underground reserves, and there's enough even at our high rates of usage today to last several hundred more years at least.

peace.

Most people near urban centers would probably die within a few days or weeks, having the supply chain interrupted and whatever is left on your car's tank to try to get away via congested highways.

(Of course this assumes there is no gradual phase-out program an help from the government, i.e. oil becomes suddenly unavailable without warning.)

Since energy's becoming a lot more expensive I'd stop posting long lists of information people already know.

Walk to work. Any hold onto any above items you mentioned since they would be in short supply.
