I'm 16 and grew up in a Catholic church for the first 11 years of my life. I hated soo much! Something nad happened in the church what the priest was saying to people. After a year we turned Christian and this church is fun and I'm learning. I've heard many peoples testomonies of how they came to Jesus and stuff and their stories are amazing and stuff and I'm here like hi. I try to follow Jesus and stuff but I just feel like I can't! I've recently been in a bad mood because my parents are divorced now and I said some words to my brother that my dad heard. He is currently giving me a lecture and stuff and I'm just trying not to pay attention. I'm getting so mad. All he's talking about is satan and that stuff. I'm going on a mission trip to Europe and was hoping something great is going to happen but I've been doing research and looking God up recently and I'm starting to question myself, is God real? I feel like there are more stories and just things that prove he isn't. Is this really worth my time? Please be respectfull in your answers as I will read and maybe comment on all of them. Have a great day!

Step 1: GET THE F OFF THE INTERNET!!!!

God doesn't live on the internet, and you won't lean the RIGHT things about Him there.

If you REALLY want to know "Is God Real?" then let Jesus into your life. Jesus promised that, while He is in Heaven He will send "a counselor" -- the Holy Spirit -- to guide you and TEACH YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

[Actually, how this works is that The Holy Spirit will guide you (if you let him) to a good church and good teachers, and will then allow you to "see the truth" as these teachers present it to you. He will ALSO help guide you away from those false teacher who lie to you. Although he is a bit misguided in his approach, your Dad is ONE of those teachers! Stop being disrespectful, and learn to listen.]

So stop looking s**t up on the internet, get your a** in church, OPEN YOUR MIND, let the Holy Spirit guide you, and LISTEN to what you are being taught.

I'll bet you $100 that God Himself will PROVE to you that He is real when you go on that mission trip, IF you allow the Holy Spirit to work with you, instead of yo working against the Holy Spirit.

God is probably not real, and Jesus is probably not a real person but even if he was real he certainly wasn't a God. In the time of Jesus they thought Caesar was a God Hercules was a half God or Demi God. Callaluga was a God

Is God real? Which god? If you had been born in India, you might have been brought up to believe in many gods, such as Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma. Or you might have been born in a Shia Islamic state, and will believe that was the correct way to worship Allah. You could have been born on an Indian Ocean island, and believe in a magic spiritual world, in which you were descended from an Eagle. You could have been born in Scandinavia during the 8th Century, and believe in Thor and Odin, or you could have been born in past Native American community, and have believed in the Turtle Mother.

What I am suggesting is that there is no evidence for believing that any god is the truth, and all others are wrong. An atheist lacks belief in one more god than a Christian. You are a Christian because you were born into a family and community that is Christian. Not because that religion is more true than any other.

You can prove it for yourself really easily. Call out to god "Are you there? Show yourself or talk to me", I can guarantee absolutely nothing will happen. The thing being it doesn't matter who asks, where or how often, god does not appear. He is meant to be all powerful but won't do the old trick of a voice from the clouds or a burning bush that the bible claims.

If you don't believe your life will be the same. Same job, same family, same education, same opportunities, same love life, same risks and rewards. Atheists and Christians have the same life expectancy, the same risk of accidents, the same amount of disease and the same chance of winning lotto. If god exists he sure doesn't help his chosen people.

Yes. He is evident in nature, our conscience and the written Word of God. I suggest that you ask Jesus Christ into your life as your personal Lord and Savior. I did many years ago and He has shown Himself to be a faithful friend. Please read the New Testament, starting in the Gospel of John. Look for a Bible-believing church to attend, like Baptist. Pray for God's will and guidance. Pray and read the Bible every day because faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Realize that you are a sinner and that Jesus suffered and died so that you could avoid hell and have eternal life. Ask God to forgive your sins. Determine to live for Him as best you can. Then you will see that God is real. Here are some Bible verses to look up: Romans 3:10, 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:13; John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6; Ephesians 2:8,9; First John 1:9.

No god is not real and cannot exist because of Eric The God-Eating Magic Penguin.

Since Eric is God-Eating by definition, he has no choice but to eat God. So, if God exists, He automatically ceases to exist as a result of being eaten. Unless you can prove that Eric doesn’t exist, God doesn’t exist. Even if you can prove that Eric doesn’t exist, that same proof will also be applicable to God. There are only two possibilities: either you can prove that Eric doesn’t exist or you can’t. In both cases it logically follows that God doesn’t exist.

Yeah okay, my guess is that god is not real. I sympathize with your predicament. At sixteen I was taking bible classes one hour every day after school. Than was when I decided religion does not add up. Not wanting to alarm my parents, I kept silent and continued with the classes.

Christian and Catholic...pretty much the same thing. Catholicism is part of the huge umbrella of Christianity.

If you are currently getting a lecture...then put your phone or laptop down and LISTEN. It's extremely rude to do other things when a person is trying to talk to you, especially your parents.

It's not unusual to question your faith at any age.

No one can tell you if God is real. God has many names and faces. The faith that God is really comes from you...not anyone else.

There is no research in the world that can convince or not convince of God's existence. It's all about faith...what YOU believe in.

Please don't tell people how to answer your post. It's rude. If you're mature enough to post, then you are mature enough to take the answers you like and ignore the rest.

You have been lured into a false church. You may be pleased with your shiny new tambourine and white sheet to get baptised in, but after you have done it a few times the novelty will wear off. You will have to listen to 'Christian' rock and country music, too.

I think that for now, its impossible to know if there's a god or not. I believe in a god but I also accept that I could be wrong.

G-d Hashem is real but Christianity's interpretation is wholly wrong.

G-d is one singular being he created everything and still rules over the cosmos. He choose the Israelites as they alone promised to keep his laws thus Jews to this day have a special place in Hashems grand plans.

If you adopt the 7 original laws of Noah you are guaranteed a path to everlasting glory in Hashems realm after death. Only those with strong wills can follow the special commandments G-d gave to Moses those are for Jews only.

Be warned Christianity may seem ok but it's a false hope Jesus was a heretic Jew who's disobedience lead him to ruin don't worship him as God and follow the same false path. Now go out and buy a copy of the Torah and learn about the real G-d.

Probably not, no.

Although atheists can't disprove a god's existence, it doesn't mean definitely that there is a god. . .

Lots of answers, but no one here really answers your question. Why I believe I am qualified to answer your question is because I have an education in Christianity through my pastoral education. I am a part of the Lutheran Church, known as a Catholic light church. You will find that the teachings from the Lutheran church will have strengths from the Evangelicals and the strengths from the Roman Catholics.

To answer your question, "is God real?" The answer is yes! 1 Corinthians 15:14 says "And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless." In other words, if you can find Christ's bones then I would leave the church entirely. All Christians believe that Jesus is at the right hand of God the Father, with his body and all. Not even the first century Jews would deny the presence of Jesus Christ.

As to whether God has many names, God has defined His character throughout the Scriptures. John 5:39 quotes Jesus speaking to the Jews, "You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!" Only Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for everybody's sins so that they can have eternal life, but unfortunately many people still reject Christ's work.

As for your ability to follow God, I myself thought I could work myself to perfection. A 16th Century man Martin Luther thought he could too strive to perfection, for the Roman Catholic church taught that he ought to be perfect. Then Luther read the book of Romans and found that the apostle Paul says in verse 7:18 "I want to do what is right, but I can't." Paul said earlier in 3:23-25:

"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood."

*In short, it is God who saves us, not ourselves.*

It was on the cross where perfect Jesus died for our sins because we are not perfect.

Also, since you were raised in the Roman Catholic church I know that you are a baptized child of God and your name is written in heaven. You have a room in heaven with your name on it. I look forward to seeing you there.

As for understanding your battle between your sin and holy living, I would encourage you to read the entire book of Romans in simple English, the New Living Translation. It is only 16 short chapters. You can read this book at:

As for why Christianity and not any other religion, C. S. Lewis wrote the book "Mere Christianity." It is titled "Mere Christianity," for he is not going to direct you to a particular denomination. He will give you the basic meaning of being a Christian and its credibility in just over 200 pages in simple English.

Uncommented TDs are meaningless and hilarious... LOL, thanks...
