Christians were dishonest when they defended their attack against science education. Is this wrong?

From the 139-page Dover trial decision written by John E. Jones III United States District Judge.

In summary, the disclaimer singles out the theory of evolution for special treatment, misrepresents its status in the scientific community, causes students to doubt its validity without scientific justification, presents students with a religious alternative masquerading as a scientific theory, directs them to consult a creationist text as though it were a science resource, and instructs students to forego scientific inquiry in the public school classroom and instead to seek out religious instruction elsewhere.

The citizens of the Dover area were poorly served by the members of the Board who voted for the ID Policy. It is ironic that several of these individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy.

Those who disagree with our holding will likely mark it as the product of an activist judge. If so, they will have erred as this is manifestly not an activist Court. Rather, this case came to us as the result of the activism of an ill-informed faction on a school board, aided by a national public interest law firm eager to find a constitutional test case on ID, who in combination drove the Board to adopt an imprudent and ultimately unconstitutional policy. The breathtaking inanity of the Board’s decision is evident when considered against the factual backdrop which has now been fully revealed through this trial. The students, parents, and teachers of the Dover Area School District deserved better than to be dragged into this legal maelstrom, with its resulting utter waste of monetary and personal resources.

Christians are dishonest by the nature of their dishonest religion.

Ever done business?

I ran my own business for years, and helped others run businesses too. Something that stands out clearly is christian dishonesty. If they can hire you and not pay you, they will, Beat you out of your wage. If you sell them anything, get all the money now, or you won';t get it.

Dishonesty is christians outstanding accomplishment. Nobody can lie like a christian.

The Dover trial applied only to one borough of PA - Dover. Due to various issues, Intelligent Design theorists did not testify, except one or two. There were those on the school board who had, with good intentions, religious motivation. But one judge cannot decide scientific issues. Even now there are over 700 PhD's on the Dissent From Darwin site, making this statement:

"We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged."

Exhibit A, Evolution's best evidence for ape to human evolution in the trial - the Beta-Globin Pseudogene has been completely refuted and instead of being a dead gene or junk dna, actually carries out very important function. This discovery was confirmed by mainstream scientists, although predicted by Intelligent Design theorists. Also, evolution required at least 95% DNA to be junk and used that as evidence for the eons of trial and error and previously taught that only 3% of our DNA was useful. ENCODE, after studying the genome for years, a peer reviewed study with results published in Nature, has now concluded that over 80% OF OUR GENOME IS FUNCTIONAL!! This is a big blow to evolution and to the Dover trial. The Dover trial means nothing now, as this new evidence would be reason to have another trial just based on the scientific evidence.

If they indeed were dishonest, emphatically yes! Incredibly BOTH sides are "bent" on warping the facts to shape their views....too bad, as they should be used to Support each the other.

As a student of the bible I see no failings in it scientifically...and actually see it supported by scientific findings....Historically through Archeology, the fossil record and most recently Biology...someone with an "unjaundiced" eye sees many discoveries of this time to support the words of "that" time.

Not talking theories.....thats a whole different ballgame.

Christians do not attack anything. It's the churches of Christendom who frequently think they have to defend, attack, and argue. There's a big difference.

Creationism is based on lies and they have nothing but lies to support it. It's no surprise that the whole case was so steeped in lies and deception that even a conservative Christian judge could see them.
