Why does religion questions bring so many answers?

Whenever I pose a controversial religious questions, I get the most responses and get the most heated and sometimes hateful answers.
Why is that?

Religion is so controversial in itself. Through all the questions that are posted most people will have an answer for few of the random questions asked on this site, however because religion is the one topic that about 99% percent of the world has a personal, if not guided opinion of the subject, and 80 percent of the people on yahoo like to talk ** Youre going to have to expect that a topic as disputed as this, is going to have mixed responses

Controversy attracts debate, that's the way it goes, particularly when the subject in question is one of the most influential aspects of society.

because christians want to shove their beliefs down ppl's thats and take away " freedom of religion." And,too, because they also have " freedom of speech," just like us Wiccan's, Pagans,Athiests,do.
