I'm 27 and I have asperger's syndrome. I stopped believing when I was 16. IMHO, no one has a soul.

If everyone has a soul than that must include you as well. I think if you feel depressed and "soulless" you could have other problems that need to be addressed. I had problems when I was your age too.

Why do you feel depressed? Why do you feel like you don't have a soul?

I am a retired teacher. Many of my students had asperger's. My nephew and his wife both have Asperger's. I can see how it might cause you to feel that you don't have a soul. Something isn't working right in your brain that allows people to function on autopilot. You have to put a conscious effort into things that other people do without thinking. That might feel like a soul missing. That's largely in the area of communication. When you just start responding with what automatically comes into your mind as most people do, you might be prone to say something inappropriate. My nephew's wife lost a job as a nurse's aid because the patients felt uncomfortable with some of the things she said when she was just trying to be helpful and friendly. She has to stop and think now and that takes a way some spontaneity.

The word soul is used in more than one way. It can be used to refer to the immortal soul which lives through eternity after the body dies. You do have that. The Asperger's is connected to your body and not your eternal soul.

Sometimes people say that certain singers, musicians, or dancers have a lot of soul. That might be the kind of soul you feel you are missing. Most of us don't have as much soul as some of the best musicians and singers but we can go on auto-pilot when we're having conversations and respond to others without having to think first.

I am sorry that you have to deal with Asperger's. You do have an eternal soul like everyone else and that soul does not have Asperger's.

God put a soul into every forming unborn baby at the time of conception. Angels, the good and the fallen, have no soul because they are already spiritual beings without a physical bodies. But they also have a free will like humans are given as well, that's why some sinned and are fallen angels in hell. You having asperger's syndrome doesn't mean your are evil. Everyone ends up with something they hate having to live with. But God lets you live with it so you can learn about it, become strong with it and help others with it or teach their loved ones how to help someone born with it. We should all take our issues' and grow from it and guide others who have the same issues we have. What about the babies that are born with no legs and no arms? They still learn to lead good healthy lives and just have to live differently than people with legs and arms. And many of them have books written or go to school to talk to kids about how to live well when born with a 'problem'. You are still young. You'll figure things out. Why not turn to the one that had you born with asperger's syndrome? Pray to God throughout the day and ask for patience and love and guidance and how to help others as well.

Yes you are a "Living Soul" the bible describes the "Soul" is a person...

1 Pet. 3: 20 "...in Noah’s day, while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water."

Jesus said John 10: 11 " I am the fine shepherd; the fine shepherd surrenders his soul in behalf of the sheep" meaning his life as a person

Animals are souls too Lev. 11:46 "This is the law about the beast and the flying creature and every living soul that moves about in the waters and concerning every soul that swarms upon the earth."

Now if you mean Spirit yes we do but the Soul and Spirit doesn't mean the same thing...

P.S. I'm sorry you feel depressed I've been depressed before feeling empty inside, but drawing close to God by praying to help you to get through your Asperger's syndrome will definitely help. Also being around friends and family who support you and love you. If you don't feel you have that God loves you more than you love yourself and knows what your going through. Stay Strong

If your a human being, you have a soul. All humans have souls, but not all of them act like it. I'm sorry if you don't feel like you have a soul. But I can't change your feelings, that's something you have to do. I can give you a clue, that might help. If you were soul-less, you wouldn't worry about having a soul. It wouldn't bother you.

Just like a snake doesn't worry about being leg-less, It is what it is supposed to be.

Asperger's syndrome may make life different, but it doesn't take away your soul.

It might just make your soul harder to find.

The feeling that you have no soul and that you are damned are symptoms of he illness Depression and not because that is the truth. I used to work as a Registered Nurse on psychiatric units in hospitals for 20 years and saw people with those symptoms many times. I experienced Depression myself after I became 100% disabled and have been in constant pain for the past 15 years. The fact that you have Asperger's syndrome is a heavy load and can easily lead to or cause Major Depression may have some of it's causes psychological issues but the main cause is a physical one which is too low a level of one or more chemicals called neurotransmitters, in the brain. This is why people who have Major Depression need to take medications that restore those levels to a proper amount. Major Depression causes many changes in a person's thinking as well as feeling sad. When I worked as a Registered Nurse on psychiatric units in hospitals for 20 years and it is amazing to see all of the different positive changes in a person who is Depressed once they get on the right antidepressant. I strongly encourage you to go to a Doctor and tell him these thoughts and feelings and ask him to prescribe an antidepressant for you. The best kind of doctor to go to is a psychiatrist because they are the real experts about this and can best accurately understand your symptoms and best prescribe the right antidepressant for you.

In the Christian Faith no one is damned to Hell before they die. That is one of the reasons I know that your thoughts of being damned are a symptom of Depression and not the Truth.

God bless you.

There is no point in the entire Universe, ever, that is not one unique Conscious Perspective; a Soul!

Whether inside the sun, in deep space or where that body is now standing!

No, 'you' are a figment of the imagination that the Soul perceives.

In other words, other than in the imagination, there is no 'you' to 'have' anything, much less a Soul!

The Soul is rather like the mirror-screens upon which the Universe displays and perceives OurSelf!

The Bible’s answer

The word “soul” in the Bible is a translation of the Hebrew word ne′phesh and the Greek word psy·khe′. The Hebrew word literally means “a creature that breathes,” and the Greek word means “a living being.” * The soul, then, is the entire creature, not something inside that survives the death of the body. Consider how the Bible shows that the human soul is the whole person:

Adam, a living soul, at the time of his creation

Adam was not given a soul—he “became a living soul”

When Jehovah God created the first man, Adam, the Bible says that “man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7, King James Version) Adam was not given a soul—he became a living soul, or person.

The Bible says that the soul can work, crave food, eat, obey laws, and touch a dead body. (Leviticus 5:2; 7:20; 23:30; Deuteronomy 12:20; Romans 13:1) Those activities involve the entire person.

Is the soul immortal?

No, the soul can die. Dozens of Bible verses refer to the soul as being mortal. Here are some examples:

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”—Ezekiel 18:4, 20, King James Version.

In ancient Israel, the punishment for the most serious offenses was that the “soul shall be cut off.” (Exodus 12:15, 19; Leviticus 7:20, 21, 27; 19:8, King James Version) The person would “be put to death.”—Exodus 31:14, King James Version.

After a person dies, the literal term “dead soul” is used for the corpse in some Bible verses. (Leviticus 21:11, footnote; Numbers 6:6, footnote) Although many Bible translations use the terms “dead body” or “dead person” in those verses, the original Hebrew uses the word ne′phesh, or “soul.”

“Soul” can mean “life”

The Bible also uses “soul” as a synonym for “life.” For example, Job 33:22 uses the Hebrew word for “soul” (ne′phesh) as a parallel for “life.” Similarly, the Bible shows that a person’s soul, or life, can be risked or lost.—Exodus 4:19; Judges 9:17; Philippians 2:30.

This use of the word for “soul” helps us to understand verses in which the soul is said to be “going out” or “departing.” (Genesis 35:18; King James Version) This figure of speech indicates that the person’s life is ending. Some translations render this expression at Genesis 35:18 as “she breathed her last.”—Good News Translation; New Jerusalem Bible.

Where belief in an immortal soul comes from

Christian denominations that believe in an immortal soul get this teaching, not from the Bible, but from ancient Greek philosophy. The Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Biblical references to the soul are related to the concept of breath and establish no distinction between the ethereal soul and the corporeal body. Christian concepts of a body-soul dichotomy originated with the ancient Greeks.”

God does not condone merging his teachings with human philosophies, such as belief in an immortal soul. Instead, the Bible warns: “Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception according to human tradition.”—Colossians 2:8.

Yes, of course you have a soul. Every human being is made up of three parts - just like God is Triune (Trinity) - we humans are also 3 parts because we are made in God's image and likeness.

We ARE A SPIRIT - that's our real inner man.

We HAVE A SOUL - that's our mind, will emotions and intellect

We LIVE IN A BODY - that's our physical flesh and bone body.

When our physical body which houses our spirit and soul dies, our body goes dead into the grave, but upon death our spirit and soul leave our body and go back to God who gave them (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

God is a Spirit (John 4:24), He has a soul (mind will and emotions - Holy Spirit) and He lives in a body (the flesh and blood body of Jesus Christ).

Our spirit and soul are so close that they cannot be separated except by the Word of God - and the Word of God is Jesus Christ (John 1:1 and Revelation 19:13) as evidenced in the Bible in Hebrews 4: 12 & 13 which says Jesus (The Word of God) is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of SOUL & SPIRIT and of the joints and marrow of the bones and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

... etc.

So you see - you DO HAVE A SOUL MY FRIEND.

The fact that you are consciously asking this q is proof that you do have a 'soul'. Because without the presence of the 'soul', you won't be conscious to ask q's or understand things, though you may be alive and breathing.

Nobody has a soul. The concept of 'souls' were an invention of religion. It is meant to keep your loyal to your religion until you die. If you believe your soul exists you will be concerned about wether you are going to the mythical 'heaven' or 'hell' when you die and this belief will strengthen you loyalty.

It's a cruel deception by religion. Realise souls do not exist and free yourself from the chains of religion - start living!

Yes, we all have "souls" but the church began telling people that they were something else.

You want to see a soul then just look in the mirror, you are a soul, a living soul, consciousness is all that it is. We are mortal souls though.

A soul was never anything seperate from our bodies. It's a consious being is all that a soul is.

So, yes you have and are a soul. We're mortal though, it's really creepy.

You must be totally confused by now! The principal information available to believers originates in the Bible, authored by our Creator. The very first mention of humans and souls made is at Genesis 2:7, where it reports "And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man from the dust of the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."

Presuming that God has the capability to discern the difference between "came to be" and 'came to have' a living soul, this would seem to settle any argument about the exact nature of the human soul. Namely, that each human IS a soul, and that having a soul is a figment of some man’s fertile imagination.

I’m sorry to hear about your Asperger’s Syndrome. That’s not the end of the world, though. You need to take note that the promises of healing humans’ ills, perhaps best illustrated by Jesus’ own miraculous healings, are genuine promises for mankind’s future, not pie-in-the-sky stories. Read for yourself the promise at Isaiah 33:24, look at the magnificent future possible here in earth given the wording of Revelation/Apocalypse 21:4. This is with the intent of fulfilling toward YOU the words of Jeremiah 29:11.

Pray to God, using his personal name Jehovah, asking to have him send you his representatives. If they ask for money, they’re fakes. All of their services MUST BE TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE.

According to God you do and He placed your soul into your flesh body when you were conceived. He knew you for a long time before you were placed in your flesh body and He knows you quite well and hopes the best for you and has gone to great lengths to get a letter to you, so you can learn about Him and His plan and why we live in temporary flesh bodies in this second earth age. It's called The Bible. Study it to learn about Him and what all He promises for those who love Him. He's not looking to zap His own children. He hopes even people who do wicked things will repent for their wrongs and try their best to do good things. Lots of people will tell you what they think God said, but how will you know unless you look into it all for yourself? Some people may be right. Some people may be genuinely mistaken because they heard something their whole life and thought it was in God's Word. And some people may deliberately try to confuse you. But, if you study for yourself, you will not be easy to confuse.

Ezekiel 18:23 KJV Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

2 Peter 3:9 KJV The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Atheists possibly do not have a soul...they say they don't. But as usual, they overextend their limits.

If you can pray, feel it's OK to pray, then you have a soul.

You may be spiritually attacked: pray against that.

You may be more vulnerable than others. Due to this syndrome, you & only you know your limits.

Your soul may be weary, oppressed. Then you won't sense this spiritual aspect. Do you meditate? It will help.

Are you alive? Then yes, you ARE a living SOUL.

Instead of listening to thoroughly stupid people, consult the Bible's definition of what a soul is. Genesis 2:7, dirt plus air is what God used and "man BECAME a living SOUL." Notice the living body is the soul. Not any add on equipment.

Ezekiel 18:4, 20 also adds that, "The soul that is sinning--it itself WILL DIE." Souls are not immortal as some false religions teach.

Romans 5:12 points out everyone has inherited Adams sin which is evident by all of us dying.

We are all living SOULS who can and will die.

You Are A SOUL, you do not have a soul!. Your soul is YOU and what makes you YOU! But also we have a spirit which is unique to humans for it is of God! We have the potential to receive God's life into our spirit to be transformed, to become a child of God. When by faith and in humility, we receive Father God's transforming Love we begin a New life with God now and for all eternity! All our problems and disabilities will be taken away in the new life after death! Water baptism will then seal this inner baptism of God's Love/Spirit

This new life is given when we believe in the Saviour Jesus Christ in a personal way, he suffered for each one of us - and YOU! Receive his redeeming love by faith, for some it is an emotional experience, for you this may not be so, but just believe in your head that God made you to be his child to love you for ever"! When you truly believe this, it becomes real for you! Faith is a powerful force, not a 'feeling'!

People with the autistic condition are often not treated in a way that brings out the best in them but there are interests and work that suit people like you very well. As someone has said, you need to put mental effort into doing things that other people have little trouble with.

A disability is a challenge, there are many kinds, and with determination and courage, people with disabilities can be a challenge to the rest of us in hope faith and determination. May the God who loves you and has a plan for you, give you faith in a way that makes sense and gives meaning to YOU!

Faith is a different experience for each person depending on our personality! Believe me - you DO have a meaningful future, but expert help should help you handle some aspects of your problem; more people are diagnosed with this than ever before. Accept yourself as you, and like everyone else - with POTENTIAL!

Yes you have a soul and the Lord Jesus loves you very much. Please keep this one scripture in your mind, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let the Lord Jesus be your strength and keep your mind and heart on Him. Read His word daily because it is food for your mind and soul. I have a God who can do anything and all things are possible with Him. The Lord Jesus is the Healer, the Creator, and He can renew your mind. I believe Asperger's is a genetic disease caused by the sins of your ancestors. This curse has not been broken in your life. In it is the spirit of confusion, spirit of alcoholism or drunkenness and the spirit of death seems to always show up during your worst depression. Ancestral unforgiveness is a likely sin carried with the spirit of fear. Fear is sin. But - remember I just quoted God's word that I know my God can do all things and nothing is impossible with Him. Call upon the Lord, renounce the sins of your ancestors and your own sins and ask God to heal your mind and make you whole. Keep asking until the Lord heals you. You cannot do it once or twice and think God is going to do something. You have to search diligently after God. He rewards those who do this. Put yourself in the arms of Jesus, my friend, and you will find peace.

Before I answer you question scripturally, I read a wonderful article about a girl name Claire who Asperger's Syndrome. It was very insightful. I would like I can email the article to you if you send me your email address. My email address is mackhuntjr@yahoo.com.

Now to the question. This is what the bible says about the nature of the soul:

Definition: In the Bible, “soul” is translated from the Hebrew ne′phesh and the Greek psy·khe′. Bible usage shows the soul to be a person or an animal or the life that a person or an animal enjoys. To many persons, however, “soul” means the immaterial or spirit part of a human being that survives the death of the physical body. Others understand it to be the principle of life. But these latter views are not Bible teachings.

What does the Bible say that helps us to understand what the soul is?

Gen. 2:7: “Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” (Notice that this does not say that man was given a soul but that he became a soul, a living person.) (The part of the Hebrew word here rendered “soul” is ne′phesh. KJ, AS, and Dy agree with that rendering. RS, JB, NAB read “being.” NE says “creature.” Kx reads “person.”)

1 Cor. 15:45: “It is even so written: ‘The first man Adam became a living soul.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” (So the Christian Greek Scriptures agree with the Hebrew Scriptures as to what the soul is.) (The Greek word here translated “soul” is the accusative case of psy·khe′. KJ, AS, Dy, JB, NAB, and Kx also read “soul.” RS, NE, and TEV say “being.”)

1 Pet. 3:20: “In Noah’s days . . . a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water.” (The Greek word here translated “souls” is psy·khai′, the plural form of psy·khe′. KJ, AS, Dy, and Kx also read “souls.” JB and TEV say “people”; RS, NE, and NAB use “persons.”)

Gen. 9:5: “Besides that, your blood of your souls [or, “lives”; Hebrew, from ne′phesh] shall I ask back.” (Here the soul is said to have blood.)

Josh. 11:11: “They went striking every soul [Hebrew, ne′phesh] that was in it with the edge of the sword.” (The soul is here shown to be something that can be touched by the sword, so these souls could not have been spirits.)

The Hebrew word for soul means "a creature that breathes," and the Greek word means "a living being." The soul, then, is the entire creature, not something inside that survives the death of the body. Consider how the Bible shows that the human soul is the whole person: When Jehovah God created the first man, Adam, the Bible says that "man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7). Adam was not GIVEN a soul- he BECAME a living soul, or a person. The Bible says that the soul can work, crave food, eat, obey laws, and touch a dead body. (Leviticus 5:2; 7:20; 23;30; Deuteronomy 12:20; Romans 13:1) Those activities involve the entire person.

First question is what does having asperger's syndrome have to do about having a soul ?

Every Human has a Soul...it is who you are...the body can be sick or hurt or diseased YET It CAN NOT touch your Soul.

Consider those who were stoned to death, crucified, boiled in oil,,banished from society and beat and maimed and blinded and suffered horrible torments....and yet they still Smiled and Confessed Jesus as Lord......

So what is your problem ?!!
?
2015-01-01 03:26:03 UTC
You do have a soul! Everyone, believe it or not, has a soul! Animals, too! See, God made ALL of us. ALL OF US!! If you want to regonize your soul, do good works, like cheer up others when sad, and worship God. Pray to him, go to church, put money in the collection etc. This is Satan that makes you feel this way, and you need to strive to ignore him! You WILL feel your soul then. You just need to search for it, but it's there!
2015-01-01 03:04:26 UTC
The soul is you not something separate from your body that pops out of your mouth when you die.

Such a teaching passed onto to modern society through the Roman Emperor Constantine.

The second century church fell under the influence of Greek pagan philosophy. By the time of Constantine no trace a Christianity was left.

Pagan teachings became "Christianised" but in reality Christianity had become thoroughly "Paganised" later Islam excepted the idea of the soul being separate from the body and immortal from the outset.

Oh dear I hope what you have read has not made you feel worse.

Remember god holds out a genuine hope of everlasting life.

Not flying off to the clouds or an eternity of everlasting barbeque down below, but of an earth ruled by Jesus Christ, free of corruption to sin and suffering.

Good news!

All souls are totally imaginary. Their purpose is to provide people with a way of living on after death.

If theists didn't pretend to have an immortal soul, there would be no way for them to get to heaven.

They would have to face the truth about death...that it leads immediately to oblivion...nothingness...endless darkness.

Like everyone else, when you die, you'll just enter your last sleep.

Atheists face this truth with courage. Theists run away from it.

Well if any human has a soul then you surely have one. Having an issue is not the criteria to be used. Now many don't believe and that is their right.

Yes, you do, God's creation has souls as if we did not we would never be able to come into his presence. for flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.

A lot of what you feel is symptomatic of your condition, when was the last time you saw your doctor, do see your doctor soon for it sounds as though you may be coming into a deeper depression.

God is your heavenly Father and He loves you and your very soul, He understands and is there waiting for you to talk to Him and fellowship with Him, study your bible daily for at least 20 minutes to understand Him better and build a solid relationship with HIm. talk to Him often, talking with Him is simply prayer, give him your petitions and ask for his help. He said it pleases Him to bless us, so trust Him. God bless you, remember, trust Him, He has it all in control.

God created us, in His word He tells us we have souls, your soul is merely your intellect. He is the lover of your soul. Discount the naysayers who think they are made of some remnant of primordial soup, they do not know the love of the true and living God and cannot know Him, so how can they advise you on something they do not believe in and has not experienced for themselves. many a wise cracker is a fool, and the fool has said in his heart there is no God.

talk with your parents, tell them what you are feeling. They have insight that will help you and will help you to seek the best plan of care in this.

You do not HAVE a soul.

You are a soul.

Notice how the Bible describes the first human created: Genesis 2:7

Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul

It did not say he was given an immortal inner person, but that he became a soul. A person.

IF you have a conscience, then you have a soul. All humans have a conscience which distinguishes us from animals. In scripture, the soul and the conscience are the same. That said, the conscience can be ignored or even suppressed but it's still part of the human being.

It is not a matter of whether or not you have or have not a soul. If it makes you comfortable to be who you then be it. Also if you feel comfortable to be with non-believers then do it and if you feel comfortable with believers then do it.

BTW I am much older than you and am ADHD as well as am living with an incurable disease almost all my life and doctor cannot fix me but I am not depress. No way. Learn to do research to see what is the actual cause of your depression then fix it. It could be your diet or your lifestyle. Cheer up.

No, nobody "has" a soul. If there is such thing as soul, more than one would be redundant. We'd be sharing it, as it would be us. We wouldn't "have" it as some kind of possession. For every single one of us, our failure to realize that is the result of some kind of mental condition. We right here in the same boat with you, friend.

The soul is there so. Yes, everyone has a soul even animals. New World Translation Nu 31:28 As a tax for Jehovah, you should take from the soldiers who went out into the battle one soul out of every 500, of the people, the herd, the donkeys, and the flock.

God as Having Soul. In view of the foregoing, it appears that the scriptures in which God speaks of “my soul” (Le 26:11, 30; Ps 24:4; Isa 42:1) are yet another instance of an anthropomorphic usage, that is, the attributing of physical and human characteristics to God to facilitate understanding, as when God is spoken of as having eyes, hands, and so forth. By speaking of ‘my ne′phesh,’ Jehovah clearly means “myself” or “my person.” “God is a Spirit [Pneu′ma]." As was brought by other comments from above the soul can die. But there is hope for the die souls. And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. 14 And death and the Grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.

Also hope for the living souls. Since people don't in heaven this scripture ie referring to those on earth:King James Version Re 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Soul:The traditional rendering of the Hebrew word neʹphesh and the Greek word psy·kheʹ. In examining the way these terms are used in the Bible, it becomes evident that they basically refer to (1) people, (2) animals, or (3) the life that a person or an animal has.

“Soul” and “Spirit”—What Do These Terms Really Mean?

WHEN you hear the terms “soul” and “spirit,” what comes to your mind? Many believe that these words mean something invisible and immortal that exists inside us. They think that at death this invisible part of a human leaves the body and lives on. Since this belief is so widespread, many are surprised to learn that it is not at all what the Bible teaches. What, then, is the soul, and what is the spirit, according to God’s Word?

Hi Claire,

When we board a plane or ship the captain records how many souls are on board. This is just a fact and anyone who argues with whether we are a soul or not is arguing against this fact probably based on their own anti-faith agenda.

You are a soul and you have a soul. Your soul is inside your body and leaves when you die. Your soul is loved by God. He loves you and is willing to help if you reach out for Him. My prayers are with you.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Christ died to save us sinners. We are not to walk by feeling but by faith.

No matter what affection you have here on earth you will not have in Heaven on Judgment Day. EVERY ONE BORN ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH HAS A SOUL.

Genesis 2V7:"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a LIVING SOUL."

So from the creation of time--all human beings were given the most important part of their being---a SOUL which NEVER dies--and GOES BACK TO where it came from ---GOD.

The devil and angels on the whole --whether they are good or bad--DO NOT HAVE A SOUL.

The soul of a human being is their most PRIZED POSSESSION.

Matthew 16V26:"For what is a man profited, if he shall GAIN the WHOLE WORLD, and LOSE HIS OWN SOUL? or what shall a man GIVE IN EXCHANGE FRO HIS SOUL?"

Jesus Christ speaks in the gospel of Matthew 10V28:

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are NOT ABLE to kill the SOUL: but rather FEAR him which is able to destroy both SOUL and body in Hell.

V30:"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

V31:"Fear ye not therefore, ye are of MORE VALUE than many sparrows."

V32:"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, Him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."

All Jesus is saying here, is "Acknowledge that you belong to Me."

Everything in life become bearable--since Jesus Christ is a Help when we are in trouble--and since we allow Jesus to be Lord of our Lives--He will be at our side--ALL THE TIME--and that makes the difference -- and all that matters .

When you put faith in God and Jesus--you will have the ability to go through ANY Hardship--because God is God--and we are human--we need God to see us through trials and sickness-but at the end of the day YOUR SOUL and MINE is all that matters--and makes the difference--since at the point of death--our body dies--but our soul lives on till eternity with God in heaven--preferred.

Your soul has nothing to do with being sick--and the health of your soul--belief in God and Jesus is more important in the big picture--God is always there and we will go back to Him--our souls will.

Yes, you are the soul. If you mean is there a spiritual ghostly entity that you can see that floats outside of your body when you die? The answer is NO. The soul is the sum told you, yourself. Souls can sin. The bible say that the soul that sinneth it shall die eze18:20 , it also says other things referring to the soul as the body. Souls can see teach fell, souls have emotions and everything that a living human body has, because the soul is the body. Levi4 tells you what to do if a soul (body or person, living or dead human being) sins.

If you want to talk about the spirit, well, that's another story.

We all have soul. God has given us that. But we do not live forever with a new soul unless God chose that person. This is something he has done wayyy before he ever created mankind. He has chose those he wanted to save to live with him forever. He gives them a new soul and a new heart that desires to only serve him. So, no matter how you feel, you have a soul because you are human , but if you are one of his chosen? I have no idea. Only God would know that.

A human being is always living with a group of spirits which have joined one by one since birth. Between creatures (including human beings) and God there are millions of invisible elements. There are divisions too. We are just robots made of different materials (flesh, bones, nerves etc.,) created by scientist God or eternal beings to entertain God. Each of us have memories like computers have RAM. The fed things (data= knowledge=several spirits or invisible elements) are in contact with the mind since childhood. A brain is a media to connect spirits to a human mind. In fact, all stuff related to a human being lives with a human being in the form spirits. Even thoughts are not our own. One after another the spirits think and we choose (accept) or reject based on the knowledge we have possessed. If current (electricity) stopped the memory loses all data. This is with the computer. The same thing occurs to all of us. Computers are functioning by electric power but human beings are functioning by natural power. We call this as soul. This soul is nothing but simply the functionality of body. If this is stopped our memories lose all data (all spirits or invisible elements). These spirits leave the body and go to different places. No one lives in the form of spirit or anything after death. We are simply our bodies, the toys made for spirits for their games.

The soul is what you are not something you have. Something you 'have' must be outside you being. The soul cannot be proven because what is being sought is what you already are. Almost all religious and spiritual faiths teach that we are all the Immortal Soul and this life is meant to be used to prepare us for the next, whether it is another earthly incarnation or an eternal afterlife.

Everyone has a soul. It's impossible to not have a soul and be damned, because it is the soul which is immortal and so goes to Heaven or Hell, depending on how a person lives their life while they are of this world. As long as you live, you determine the destiny of your soul.

You're right - you don't have a soul! You ARE a soul.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (being). Genesis 2:7

As for feeling depressed - realize that God made you, even if you are flawed, and He loves you intensely. Look for a support group for those with Aspberger's syndrome. There are many of you. Your personhood is not in doubt, but expressing it can be hard for you. There's much you can learn from skilled people about how to relate to others, and how to value yourself.

Yes, you have a soul. In 2 Corinthians 12: 2- 4, St Paul tells of his near-death-experience in which "he was caught up in paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which is not lawful for a man to utter."

In Revelation 1: 10, John was in the spirit on the Lord's day when he was told to give an account of what he heard.

In Mark there is the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Both were conscious after death so that both had souls after bodily death. The bible admonishes not to not worry about him that can kill the body, but be mindful of him that can kill both soul and body in hell. So there is a dichotomy there.

However Jesus died on the cross and by his atoning blood all of our sins are wiped away if we accept Him as our Saviour .

OF COURSE YOU DO! Think about it this way. Millions of sperm cells had to fight to hit the cell to make you. Statistically speaking, you should not exist. Then you throw in Aspergers, which is also rare. If God didnt want you to exist then he would have intervened. Well that goes for all of us too I guess. But, just know that He created you in his image and likeness and has unconditional love for all of us. So all in all, yes you do have a soul.

The good news in a roundabout way, is that you kinda can't be damned if you don't have a soul. So either you don't have one, and thus nothing from that perspective to worry about, or you do, and your damnation or lack thereof has nothing to do with your condition or lack of a soul.

Religious “truths” are inherently rooted in a fixed perspective, but real truth is perspective-independent. When you substitute religious teachings for truth, you mistake shadows for light sources. Consequently, you doom yourself to stumble around in the dark, utterly confused. Clarity remains forever elusive, and the best answer you get is that life is one giant mystery. Religious mysteries, however, arise not from what is truly unknowable; they arise from the limitations of trying to understand reality from a fixed frame of reference.

You do NOT have a separate ' soul'

Your person IS your soul...

Scripture supports this.

(John 15:13) No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his life in behalf of his friends.

From the NWT...new modified print.

Compare this with the same scripture from the KJV...it states the word ' soul' in place of the word ' life'

(Genesis 1:20) Then God said: “Let the waters swarm with living creatures, and let flying creatures fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”

Try the same comparison with this scripture...

Really do Not worry unnecessarily! for one no matter how amny people tell you that you have a Soul you do Not have one you are One! we are all each made up of a Spirit and of Flesh and together it make a composit living Soul! so you are one you do Not have one! ie when you die your flesh dies and your Spirit is left still existing, but the Soul is Not until you gain flesh and live again, However asperges is just one of millions of spectrum of generational Curses, brought about through Sins of our Forefathers/Mothers, all of us are effected by these to a degree, people generally are afraid to air this kind of thought, because they believe it makes them Evil perse', we all have the effects of Sins in our Genrational past, some give licence varyingly to horrible effects upon our daily lives, But what is important is that we each seek to do good, and live as Righteously as we can, and seek Almighty Gods help in doing so, because without him it would at times become impossible, these are Just the consequeness of our actions that effect our own seed, and Commandments have been given to us that we may know how we can live without damaging the Scaffold of Life, which is Law bound, the Trouble is most people Only recognise vissibly recognisable Laws such as Gravity out of absolute necessity, and they deny all other laws in pursuit of temporal pleasures, which otherwise would be denied, I hope that you find the Way in Christ, as he(Almighty God) came amongst us to guide those of us who would listen.

When you were in your mother's womb you were a living soul. When you die you will be a dead soul. A soul is not something that lives on after death or something we can 'not have'.

After God formed man out of dust from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, “the man came to be a living soul.” (Ge 2:7)

The “spirit” should not be confused with the “soul”, for they refer to different things. As has been shown, the soul is the creature itself. The spirit generally refers to the life-force of the living creature or soul.

The Bible states: “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) The distressed prophet Elijah “began to ask that his soul might die.” (1 Kings 19:4) Likewise, Jonah “kept asking that his soul might die.” (Jonah 4:8) Yes, the soul dies when the person dies; it is not immortal. Since a person is a soul, to say that someone died is to say that his soul died. It can be said that the soul is going out when life is slipping away. Not to be confused with a separating of body and 'a soul'.
Aaron

You have a soul. Everyone has a soul, no matter what psychical, mental, or emotional problems and issues everyone has. God created everyone and he loves everyone, the problem is will people come to him. I think outside of the TV show "Parenthood" most people don't understand what you have. The fact is your brain thinks differently and more soberly and understand differently than most people's or even people with ADD/ADHD who get over stimulated and fascinated with everything and hyperactivity. But everyone has a soul that has ever lived and will live. Having any disease or mental issues or emotional issues doesn't change that. Hi, Sweetie. You had MANY wonderful people with wonderful thoughts and answers.

........... (others are actually mean and cruel, so please do not believe those --- in fact, i would recommend that you talk with your doctor about them ... please don't let them hurt you any more than you already are, okay, Sweetie?).

. But, yes, you do have a soul. God creates ALL people with a soul.

. What we are struggling with does not affect whether or not we have a soul, whether or not we may believe, understand, or feel like we do ... especially when we are struggling with brain and nerve illnesses (as you are), and emotional problems.

. I struggle alot with PTSD and i am not a psychiatrist or anything, but i recently read an article that explained that if a person feels like they are dead inside or have no soul that this feeling is actually be an emotional disorder, so, if you haven't done so already, DO let your psychiatrist know how you are feeling --- he/she should be able to help you (i am assuming that you are under the care of a psychiatrist as a normal part of your health care; if you're not, do ask your family doctor to refer you to one).

. Sweetie, i've been struggling badly with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for about 30 years; i had been abused so badly that there was a period of about 5 years that i felt like i was dead inside --- i felt like my soul had been killed but that my body didn't seem to know it. When Jesus helped me to find Christians who loved me and were my friends, my soul eventually did "come back alive" and i could feel it once again ... and i have felt my soul since --- but it was always there even though i didn't feel like it was.

. The same with you.

. But, yes, you do have a soul, even though you may be struggling with feeling and believing that right now.

. And do let your doctor and parents know that you are feeling this way; they will be able to help you better than i can ... i can only share with you about my own experiences.

.

Please know that i will be keeping you, your parents and family, and your doctors in my thoughts and prayers, Sweetie.

. May Jesus keep you safe in His love and care ... even as He has with me --- and all other people who are hurting and struggling. I loves you more than i can put into words and is there to help you ... all you need to do is to ask Him to help you.

No, I'm sorry. People with Asperger's do not have souls. They are devoid of empathy and social ties, which makes them the perfect cold-blooded killing machines. Mass murderers Adam Lanza and Elliot Rodger both had Asperger's Syndrome and they are both in Hell, which is where you're heading.

Your feeling of not having a soul is normal - only people that believe in certain religions think they should have a soul. You don't sense you have one because you haven't 100% bought into one of those religions

The bible mentions that we as a whole human being are a soul. It is not a spirit separate from the body. But in regards to your condition, the bible provides practical guidance that can help us to cope with painful emotions and distressing circumstances. The Bible can also give us hope for a future when life on earth will be free of illness and pain. God’s Word promises: “At that time the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. At that time the lame will leap like the deer, and the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy.”—Isaiah 35:5, 6.

Pray for strength to endure. You can receive “the peace of God that excels all thought,” which can reduce your anxiety and sustain you.—Philippians 4:6, 7.

A joyful heart is good medicine, But a crushed spirit saps one’s strength."-Proverbs 17:22

Build your hope in the future. A sound hope can help you have joy despite chronic ailments. (Romans 12:12) The Bible foretells a time when “no resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” (Isaiah 33:24) God will then cure chronic illnesses that are beyond the power of modern science to solve.

You are the soul, and you have a body, a personality, that is now affected with a disease,(mine too), and for that matter everyone's body has flaws, I can definetely understand your feeling as i feel i it also, But being a soul, you are just like everyone else, free, therefore it is important to develop that understanding that you are a soul, part of the Supreme Soul, God, eternal and free . We are have our struggles , all the best to you

“SOUL” AS USED IN THE BIBLE

First, consider the soul. You may remember that the Bible was originally written mainly in Hebrew and Greek. When writing about the soul, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word ne′phesh or the Greek word psy·khe′. These two words occur well over 800 times in the Scriptures, and the New World Translation consistently renders them “soul.” When you examine the way “soul” or “souls” is used in the Bible, it becomes evident that this word basically refers to (1) people, (2) animals, or (3) the life that a person or an animal enjoys. Let us consider some scriptures that present these three different senses.

People. “In Noah’s days . . . a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water.” (1 Peter 3:20) Here the word “souls” clearly stands for people—Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives. Exodus 16:16 mentions instructions given to the Israelites regarding the gathering of manna. They were told: “Pick up some of it . . . according to the number of the souls that each of you has in his tent.” So the amount of manna that was gathered was based upon the number of people in each family. Some other Biblical examples of the application of “soul” or “souls” to a person or to people are found at Genesis 46:18; Joshua 11:11; Acts 27:37; and Romans 13:1.

Animals. In the Bible’s creation account, we read: “God went on to say: ‘Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens.’ And God went on to say: ‘Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind.’ And it came to be so.” (Genesis 1:20, 24) In this passage, fish, domestic animals, and wild beasts are all referred to by the same word—“souls.” Birds and other animals are called souls at Genesis 9:10; Leviticus 11:46; and Numbers 31:28.

Life as a person. Sometimes the word “soul” means one’s life as a person. Jehovah told Moses: “All the men who were hunting for your soul are dead.” (Exodus 4:19) What were Moses’ enemies hunting for? They were seeking to take Moses’ life. Earlier, while Rachel was giving birth to her son Benjamin, “her soul was going out (because she died).” (Genesis 35:16-19) At that time, Rachel lost her life. Consider also Jesus’ words: “I am the fine shepherd; the fine shepherd surrenders his soul in behalf of the sheep.” (John 10:11) Jesus gave his soul, or life, in behalf of mankind. In these Bible passages, the word “soul” clearly refers to life as a person. You will find more examples of this sense of “soul” at 1 Kings 17:17-23; Matthew 10:39; John 15:13; and Acts 20:10.

A further study of God’s Word will show you that nowhere in the entire Bible are the terms “immortal” or “everlasting” linked with the word “soul.” Instead, the Scriptures state that a soul is mortal, meaning that it dies. (Ezekiel 18:4, 20) Therefore, the Bible calls someone who has died simply a “dead soul.”—Leviticus 21:11.

Remember, Jesus told us to pray for God's kingdom Matthew 6:9-11. Remember kingdom and government are the same thing. We pray for God's kindome to come to earth to take away and undue all the works of the Devil who currently has control over the worlds political, econimical, social and entertainment system (1 John 5:19, John 12:31 & 1 John 3:8). So soon God through His son Jesus will covert the earth back to its original purpose a paradise as well as restore us back to a perfect state. Jesus gave a glimpse of the kingdom and what the Kingdom is going to do, as selected King of this government while on earth he showed that his Fathers government would restore us from the effects of our sinful condition as well as give life to the dead, restore the ecominic as well ego system (Matthew 4:17, 23). Don't believe the lie from Satan that the great God Jehovah doesn't love you. He loves you so much He gave His son for YOU!

What Happens at Death?

When Jesus’ friend Lazarus died, Jesus described what happens at death. He said to his disciples: “‘Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying [to Bethany] to awaken him from sleep.’ . . . They imagined he was speaking about taking rest in sleep. At that time, therefore, Jesus said to them outspokenly: ‘Lazarus has died.’” Thus, Jesus made it clear that the dead are sleeping, unconscious.—John 11:1-14.

When Jesus resurrected him, his friend Lazarus had been dead for four days. Yet, the Bible records no comment from Lazarus about his experience during that time. While dead, Lazarus was unconscious and knew nothing.—Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; John 11:17-44.

What Is the Hope for the Dead?

The dead will come back to life with the prospect of living forever. Jesus said: “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus’] voice and come out.”—John 5:28, 29.

This hope is an expression of God’s love. Jesus said: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16; Revelation 21:4, 5.

I hope this helps.

Souls were invented by religion so as to have something to threaten you with. Hell and damnation. There is no evidence for any of those lies.
