[Im sorry for my Punctuation, grammar etc mistakes...i wanna get this over with] i am a christian, i believe in christ and i was since i was 0 years old...now...I believe god as my savior and jesus christ as master..but i've seen these verses that i am mis understanding the bible...lets take the Crucifixion for one...Jesus says " my god.my god, why hath thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus is GOD and GOD is Jesus...God is his own son and Jesus is his own father..? Also, doesn't that mean he is trying to say "My self, myself...Why have i forsaken me?" im totally confused...Also, god is perfect, he understands everything there is to understand..then explain to me these verses : Deutoronomy 25:11-12
Genesis 38:8-10
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
Ex 35:2
Lev 20:13
Isaiah 13:13-16
Exodus 21:20-21
1 Tim 2:11-12
Col 3:22-23
Luke 14:26
Deutoronomy 22:13-21
Isaiah 40:8.... SOmeone please take their time to save me.... I got some other things...

Another thing i have to say, god is Sexist, Yep..>Take a look...>>

1st corinthians 14:
As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. ...

Sexist enough for you...Here try this:

1st corinthian 11
But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head--it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. (For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.) That is why a woman ought to have a veil on her head, because of the angels.

Please read that...and tell me.

here are more Proof:

[]Also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deeds, as befits women who profess religion. Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent.

[]This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.
God makes no mention of forming any sort of covenant with women

[]Are any of Jesus' disciples women? No.
Are any of the elders in the book of Revelation women? No.
Are any of the books of the Bible written by women? No.
Etc..

Now, God seems A bit awkward here>

Deutoronomy 25:11-12 [NIV]

11 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

I hope one of you take your time to help me in this situation....Thanks

Too much to look up. I will tell you ask a pastor. I will tell you, when the Bible was written, women had little standing in society.

You are either:

1. Very knowledgeable of the Bible, to have come up with all these questions on your own, or

2. You got the questions from someone else, like a book you read or something.

Here is what you should do. Since you say you are a Christian, stop reading for a while and spend some time alone in a quiet place, asking God to speak to your heart with the truth about these things. It will probably take more than a few days before God begins to respond, because He will want to see if you are really sincere before He talks.

Ask one question at a time. Usually, He responds by bringing to mind a verse or passage of scripture that will lead you in the right direction if you think about it carefully. If you are still confused, ask for His help. The book of James tells us that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God, and it will be given him.

You have many months of prayer, meditation and study ahead of you before all your questions will be answered, but if you set about it with an honest, sincere heart, you will find that your developing relationship with God will make the questions much less important to you after a while. :)

I think Kalleyd did a great job answering your question about Jesus. The other questions are in fact difficult and have been a stumbling block to a lot of people. My personal view of the verses you quote from Paul is that they are Paul's opinion. I'm not saying Paul wasn't a great and divinely inspired apostle. He was. But he was a man too, and I really think that was him expressing his opinion. Remember at that time women were considered inferior to men. (Now they are often considered superior, but that is another story!) By even letting women into the church, christians of that time were taking a big step!

Many atheists will tell you that the harshness of deuteronomy (by modern standards) is why they don't believe the Bible. But again, the times were different. Have you ever read the code of Hammurabi? He was considered the greatest lawmaker of his time. Yet, here is a quote from the code of Hammurabi: "If a son has struck his father, they shall cut off his hand". "If a man strikes another man's daughter and has caused her to have a miscarriage, he shall pay ten shekels of silver." "If that woman has died, they shall put his daughter to death." But if he did this to a 'commoner's' daughter, he only has to pay half a mina of silver! "If a physician performed an operation on a 'senor' with a bronze lancet and caused his death, or destroyed his eye, they shall cut off the physicians hand."

The old testament law was merciful and lenient for its time.

I don't mean any of this in a disrespectful, and I encourage you to send me a private message to flesh it out more.

But you seem to be completely ignorant of almost everything regarding the bible.

The doctrine of the trinity evolved several centuries after the bible, it is not a real Christian idea, and therefore does not explain what Jesus is or his relationship with God.

The rest of the problems you have with the bible can be classified as a case of mistaken identity. You have mistaken the bible as being a different sort of book than it really is. Therefore, you are having a difficult time understand how, or why, it should contain the content that it contains.

If you want actual answers, again, feel free to send me a message.

You are correct about Jesus not being God. He is not. Matthew 24:36 says that not even Jesus knows what God knows. And man and women are equal in a sense. Just not in rank. Do you really want the stress men have to go through for being head of the women?

I love how you try to point out passages which you know nothing about... nor do you understand humanity and relationships.

Have you ever read the Bible or studied it with someone learned in it and in history? My guess is probably not. At best, I'm willing to bet you flipped through the Bible trying to find passages that sounded outrageous. Because, if you REALLY wanted answers, you would actually do some research rather than posting here on R&S.

But just for starters.... your first point.... "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Jesus IS God, but Jesus is God the Son. Jesus calls out to God His Father, who is the head of the threefold Trinity. Yes, it's a mystery, but we will get into that theology some other time.

Jesus is actually quoting the Old Testament, Psalm 22

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?

O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer,

and by night, but I find no rest........"

Now, if you were to read the entire Psalm 22, it starts coming to an end like this:

"You who fear the Lord, praise him!

All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him,

and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!

For he has not despised or abhorred

the affliction of the afflicted,

and he has not hidden his face from him,

but has heard, when he cried to him....."

What started in abandonment and pain ends with the Glory of God. God takes care of the afflicted. Christ on the Cross is feeling the full magnitude of humanity's separation from God because He chose to accept this separation for our sake. At that moment, He calls out to God in His distress while quoting the Psalm. which actually brings hope and foreshadows what will happen . The Jews knew their Psalms. They mock Him for calling out because they know what He is referring to. (that's my guess, at least, on their part)

Now, for your part - go and research the rest of your "questions" if you really want to know.

Your way of interpreting the revelation of our all perfect God trying to make it fit into a little box of uneducated misunderstandings are the cause of your problems with it.

Do you think your own ideas are superior to God making you God's judge accusing him of being sexist? If you accuse God of that evil when you are in the Last Judgment what do you think will happen to God's accusers?

Are you not making an idol of your own supreme ego you think is higher than God?Instead of judging God why not open your mind to the intended meaning in those passages?

All ot of it is written in context of Paul's present society. He was giving counsel about how to handle social events in regard to the way the world was then not giving eternal laws for all humanity. Taking things out of context confuse many because they are distorting the meaning according to their own outlook. Here is where you can find answers to all these passages you ask about.www.catholic.net and you can find answers to all that in the Catechism of the Catholic Church all of which is the same as the apostles and first Christians taught and unchanged since then.

. You imagine God leaves women out of the picture. First of all who do you think you are that can question criticize judge and condemn God for being the false ideas you think? God transcends gender and sexual differences. Finding fault and judging God is the sin of pride that put satan into hell.

Grow in knowledge and you will grow higher.

Jesus revealed God is three divine persons who are one God when he ascended into heaven and at his baptism. Think spiritually not 3 bodies. Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God.

Jesus had many women disciples and showed women more love and honor than the culture.

His mother Mary was the first disciple. Look at Rev 12 That's her. Mary is appearing every day since 1981 in Medjugorje.com in former Yugoslavia Bosnia giving messages on the 25th of each month counseling how to prepare for Jesus returning in glory.and how to live pleasing to God. you can find something similar to that in the US at messages@holylove.org

I think our Lord may have led you to go to Answers in order to learn this.

There's a sin trinity theory for you. Sin against God begins when the serpent tricked eve to persuade adam to eat from the tree of knowledge. So the serpent, eve and adam forms the sin trinity.

"My self, myself...Why have i forsaken me?"

I laughed out loud when I see those words. Very true. Its ridiculous for the theory of trinity to exists based on what you have said. I think some of the trinity fans will say that its because Jesus was in human form, and also that Jesus is speaking on our behalf, and other bull crap.

But the fact is simple and straight forward. Jesus is not God. Jesus is son of God. Jesus is also the living Word of God. And the Word was God. The Word became flesh.

God sent His son, not Himself, and not Himself in another form. His son was the living Word of God,

therefore was part of God, therefore was God, but is not God, is son of God. Without God, he himself can do nothing.

Jesus has two natures, human and divine

He had to be fully human to save us and He is fully God by raising Himself from the dead

Pssst...

Man wrote the bible. Men...

Also, assuming Jesus is God. Why would God, sacrifice himself, to himself, to allow himself to forgive us, for a sin?

SAY WHAT?

Poverty, murder, rape, war, and effen evil exists in the world.

God is omnipotent and all knowing.

God is powerless to stop it, or is incredibly cruel because he refuses to stop it.

Which is it?
