No, it is fascism, pure and simple... It's a sad state of affairs when the state takes an active role in deciding what reading material is suitable for public consumption.

No chance, No Jesus: Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin felt exactly the same way. Fundie minds think alike!

Good for the librarian! I despise unnecessary censorship.

Book banning is the same as book burning...nothing more than an attempt to suppress the views of others

no..just don't read the book.

I think Sarah Palin is a homophobe. And obviously practices censorship. So did Hitler.

The more you try to ban a book, the more people want to read it, so go figure.

No book should ever be banned. That in my opinion is just completely wrong!

Obviously, her religious beliefs are much more important to her than the US Constitution. That's fine if you have those priorities in your own home, but they don't belong in the White House.

Personally I am used to it. It's funny how they are so offended when you defend your position. They feel they are under siege cause they are weak. Their beliefs are weak. You can't offend me by saying, "I don't believe in evolution". You are just a moron if you say that. They always throw the first stone and when you throw even a pillow back at them they begin to cry. These days I am a prick about it and openly mock religious people every single chance I get. Of course I never do it if religion doesn't come up, but the second someone brings religion into the conversation I ridicule them and no I don't care. People have learned not to say that I will go to hell or that I am a sinner, or any of that nonsense. I am a New Yorker so I can insult with the best of them.

No, a politician should not be banning books.

There may be books inappropriate for some uses, people, etc, but that is the work of the library and educational staff to work out. But even then, outright "banning"?--no.

And, as much as I do not agree with Palin/McCain crowd, you need to be sure any claims are true.

Here are 2 sites that say there is no definitive proof Palin actually tried to have any books removed/banned.

No. Never. Banning books is disgusting.

ALL books should be available to ALL people who choose to read them. It's not like the libraries are forcing patrons to take home books they don't want and giving them tests to make sure they are reading them.

Yet another reason why Palin needs to go home and stay there. Abuse of power makes a woman very ugly.

1st of all she shouldn't be using her powers as a politician to push her religion like that. It's sick to think that a politician in this age would try to control what people are allowed to read, watch, or listen to. However, I also wonder how little of an impact it really has. I mean, I haven't been to the library in years, I have the internet to do my research and even buy books. Or I'll visit the local bookstores. But people shouldn't have to go out of their way to find a book that should be in their public library.

I do not feel anyone has the right-ever- to ban a book! i'm an avid reader. I frequently check the banned book list to see any I've missed and make sure I read it. I've read pretty much all of them. The reasons books are banned is stupid....Charlottes Web? Tom Sawyer? Huck Finn? lol the more recently banned books are even less 'frightening' or 'damaging'. You dont' want to read it, don't. don't want ur kids to? Don't let them til they are old enuf to choose for themselves. don't wanna hear the music, turn it off...etc

THE CENTURIAN WAS SAID TO BE GAY/ THAT IS WHY THE CENTURIAN DID NOT WANT JESUS TO COME TO HIS HOUSE BECAUSE OF SHAME. ( BUT JESUS UNDERSTOOD AND

SAID TO HIM I NEVER SAY SUCH A GREAT FAITH IN ALL ISRAEL

He saw Great Faith only one other time, in the case of the Roman Centurian who asked Jesus to heal his servant.

The Centurian told Jesus,

"...speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed."

When Jesus heard the Centurian's words, he marvelled.

Jesus actually marvelled.

Only twice in his life did Jesus marvel.

At the unbelief in his hometown of Nazareth.

And at the faith of this non-Jewish Centurian.

Jesus called what this man had, "Great Faith."

"...Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel."--Mat. 8:8,10.

Any book worth banning is a book worth reading.

If you ban something, it usually just makes people read it more. People who ban books are idiotic, rude, and depraved.

No book should be banned. I do think that children should be protected from smut, but an adult has the right to read anything.

Why not just burn the whole library down?

I believe it burns at 451 degrees Farenheit.

This is why I hate Christians. We have a separation of Church in State in America, We also have a constitution that guarantees freedom of speech and of the press.

F**K her and her Palinban.

No, it violates freedom of speech and intellectual freedom. Suppression of these things is closely linked to fascism. If you don't agree with it or don't like it then don't read it.
