have you ever seen a fake bank note?
if you were handed Two bank notes and one was genuine and the other a forgery how would you be able to tell the difference?
I assume that there are Two Things that genuine make it possible to tell if a bank note is genuine or false?
1. a genuine bank note always has a Metallic Thread that goes through the middle.
2. it also has a watermark which when held up to a light can clearly be seen.
However I think it is safe to assume that forgers do their best to make their fake money look as genuine as possible.
so it possible to be deceived into believing a banknote that is really a forgery, is genuine.
what about Religion?
obviously there are many religions in the world and people have their own ideas and beliefs as to what is the right and wrong way to worship god.
so if you are smart enough to be able to Spot a forged bank note, how is it possible to tell the difference between false religion and true religion?
Well regarding Christianity the way to identify People that are worshiping god the right way, you need to basically read the bible because it was written by The original Christians Who Learned how to worship god properly from God's son Jesus Christ.
so in a sense the bible is like a spiritual mirror and Textbook which when looked into can help a person come up to the standard that is acceptable to god.
also another identifying mark of True Christians is the things they do and talk to people about.
The original Christians were taught and instructed to go from house to house and talk to people about the purpose of Christianity and what they have to do in order to benefit from it.
modern day Christians follow the example of the original Christians and so they do the preaching work that Jesus Instructed his followers to do.
that sets them apart from other people who also say they are Christians but by what they say and do because it does not harmonize with what the original Christians did in Jesus day and neither does it harmonize with the Bible, that makes it clear they are like a forged bank note, that on the surface looks genuine but when examined closely it becomes obvious they are not genuine.
now although it is possible for people to be conned and cheated, it is impossible to con and cheat god.
therefore god is able to spot his true worshipers from the false ones and just as genuine bank notes are discarded because they are useless, likewise genuine Christians will be preserved for everlasting Life whereas false ones will be discarded just as false bank notes are discarded and the ones found guilty of making them are punished for their crimes.
therefore it is important to to know who are true Christians and which ones are false because one are on the road to salvation and the other are on a road to destruction.

As you rightly point out, there is a true religion and false religion.

Many people prefer to take the easy way out and follow the religion of their parents etc. Others don't really want to know and blame God for anything and everything.



However, for the few who really wish to worship God then by referring to his Word the Bible, they can see for themselves the distinction between the true and the false.



Jesus Christ said at John 4 v 23, "Nevertheless, the hour is coming and it is now when the true worshippers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for indeed the Father is looking for such like ones to worship him.



But more is required than just looking and seeking. Jesus also said at John 17 v 3, "This means everlasting life their taking in knowledge of you the only True God and the one whom you send forth Jesus Christs". So it is necessary to take in knowledge of God and Jesus. Only then can a person be sure that they are worshipping God as he desires.
