Throughout history hundreds of millions of people have lived (and died) for their particular belief system, convinced beyond doubt, that theirs was the "TRUTH".
Just BREIFLY...how do you know that the religion you have chosen..or was chosen for you by accident of birth, ie.. your parents religion....is the TRUE religion?
Millions have fought and died believing God was on their side...and the enemie's religion is false, and should be wiped out!
With the head spinning array of belief systems on offer, what convinces you that you are right?
BRIEFLY..please!

I am a Christian and a Preacher's Kid. I was never told in my home that I *must* believe this or that. The things that were taken for granted were the love of God and the importance of treating others with love, generosity and respect. I have questioned many doctrines of various branches of Christianity, including my own, and kept some and rejected others. Many fundamentalists would object greatly to this, but a religion that is not wrestled with is only a second-hand belief. For example, I also find much to admire in the teachings of the Buddha, but I disagree with Buddhism in that I believe in the survival of personality and consciousness after death. Most Christians also pick and choose, and there is nothing wrong with this--in fact, it is a positive quality, because it makes your religious faith your own.

you're making a logical errors here, the Genetic Fallacy. The source of a reality has no longer something to do with the reality itself; you could learn of a reality from mom and dad, from college, from experimentation, or from comedian books. the form you come back to in reality beside the point. And so it relatively is in basic terms incorrect to assert that the ideals your mom and dad have could by skill of necessity be the ideals which you have. you're loose to make up your guy or woman strategies, to evaluate data on your guy or woman, to attain your guy or woman conclusions. no longer basically are you loose to take action, you're obligated to take action. people turn their backs on Buddhism, on Islam, on atheism, on Judaism daily to alter into Christians via fact they are compelled to take action by skill of the reality they locate. Muslims try this at super very own possibility, via fact their households or buddies will commonly kill them for rejecting perception in Allah; they alter their minds besides. you're no longer a sufferer of the ideals of your mom and dad. you're making your guy or woman selection, no count once you're born, the place you reside, or what your mom and dad have faith.

Plausibility. While I still have questions about Christianity, the questions I have are less important and fundamental than the questions I have about other belief systems.

You don't know... that's why I studied all religions. The one that made the most sense to me happened to be the one I was born into. That doesn't always happen, that's why there are conversions and athiests.

A Christian believers that Jesus died and rose again for them. Good deeds do not save, unlike In all other faiths. It's Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection that saves.

Well because everything the source of my faith (the bible) says is true.

The Bible says that the earth was made up of mostly water long before science discovered this.

It feels right, and if there really is an all powerful, all knowing, all loving God he'll understand why I'm atheist.
