Question:
Israel facing 'unprecedented' drought- A warning from GOD or Global Warming?

What do you think it is?
The Sea of Galilee, Israel's main source of fresh water, is dropping rapidly and could reach the dreaded "black line" - below which it is impossible to pump out any more water - in just three months.

According to experts cited in The Jerusalem Post Sunday, this past well-below average winter rainfall, which followed several similarly dry years, and is being aggravated by successive heat waves already experienced this year, is threatening the country with the worst water shortage it has ever known.

Over the week-long Passover holiday the Galilee - known in Israel as Lake Kinneret - dropped by an alarming six centimeters.

Israel's only other fresh-water reservoirs - two mountain acquifers - have also been badly depleted in recent years, and can only go down to a certain level before sea-water pressing in underground from the Mediterranean makes its water brackish and unfit for human consumption.

I think it's a warning to Olmert, and I pray he changes his mind about giving up Golan in exchange for peace. The people in Israel have suffered enough. God bless!!!

Well, from a religious point of view, G-d is ultimately responsible for everything (that, as an aside, does not mean man is not responsible for his own actions).

On the other hand, it is very, how shall we say, "fuzzy" to say that this or that is a "warning" or a "sign" from G-d. That is because it presumes the person saying it knows what's on G-d's mind. And that can many times be presumptuous.

As for the "global warming take" on the issue... droughts and many other "weather related" issues happen all the time.

As is the case, droughts have been experienced throughout the decades (centuries even) which cannot be explained by the general meme of "global warming".

You recommend a similar God who says in his word, "The day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the climate would be destroyed by way of hearth and the earth and each thing in it will be laid bare"? His theory of 'international warming' is greater drastic than something some scientists be troubled approximately! besides, that is not international warming yet international warning that God has already instructed us approximately. It additionally says in the Bible that God will deliver to destroy those ruining the earth. no longer so funnny, uh? Seeing as we are ALL to blame.

The drought isn't an isolated incident. We in the US are on the cusp of a country wide drought. So we're taking water from places like India causing draughts there.

We're also on the verge of a global grain shortage.

If you believe that there is a God, why wouldn't it be God. After all if you read the Old Testament there are many examples of God not always being kind but he is forgiving.

Why would your god mess with water levels? Wouldn't it be more efficient to appear as, say, a burning bush and actually warn people?

Likely a combination of global warming and overpopulation of the area.

When you live in a freaking desert I would assume water would become an issue sonner or later.

Israel will be fine with water.

The palestinians, on the other hand, are in deep water, no pun intended.

There is no god.

That leaves "global climate change" as the answer.
