A Catholic who says "Catholic and Christians are different" is mistaken. Many non-Catholic Christians refer to Catholic and Christians, when they really mean Catholic Christians and non-Catholic Christians.

Catholics are Christians, in fact the first Christians and the only Christians for over 1500 years. They gave all Christians the Bible, and they protected Christianity from heresies.

It's simple. Catholicism is the beginning of Christianity, then all the 10s of 1,000s of sects came later. So in terms of quantity in groups, Catholicism is often differed from Christians, even though they are in the same overall group that is Christianity. It is also a desperate need for some Christians that Catholics are not Christians, because if Catholics are Christians, and maybe even if their teachings are valid, something may be wrong with Protestantism. So here we see it's a matter of pride as well.

You are right

Catholic is the largest and fullest form of Christianity and all the Western forms such as the 30,000 divisions of Protestant ism all come directly in line of schisms from Catholic Chrsitianity

Many Fundamentalist Protestants call themselves Born Again Christians or even try to steal the title Christian only for themselves and

we must tell them that Christian means Catholic, Orthodox and Trinitarian Protestant Christians and not just a particular grouping of Protestants

Christianity is the religion based upon the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and that acknowledges his divinity. Over 75% of Christians are members of the Catholic Church. Catholics call themselves Catholic to distinguish themselves from the various Christian denominations that are not Catholic. Most other Christian denominations have distinguishing names like Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, etc.

There is a rather different religion founded by John Calvin that plays lip service to the teaching of Jesus Christ, but prefers to believe in the literal interpretation of Genesis and cherry-picks from the Old Testament to suit their pet hates. They describe themselves as Christians. In those part of the world where Calvinism is popular, Catholics are unable to describe themselves as Christians for fear of being confused with book-worshipping creationists.

I have never heard any Catholic claim that Catholicism was not Christian. It is the oldest and largest of the Christian churches. Until the 16th century it was the only Christian church (apart from the Orthodox and Coptic churches). Catholics differentiate between Catholics and Protestants but all of them are Christian.

Christian churches existed at the time of Christ!

MATTHEW 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

The English word "church" is derived from the Greek word kyriakon, which means something belonging to the Lord.

"`Church' in the New Testament, however, renders Greek ekklesia, which mostly designates a local congregation of Christians and never a building.

Long after the crucifixion the ROMANs hijacked Chrsitianity and renamed it the Holy ROMAN Catholic Church. Not in the Holy lands but entirely in ITALY!

Then they hijacked pagan methods of worship against what the bible teaches!

Thou shall have no other gods! Exodus 20:2-3, Exodus 23:13, Exodus 23:24, Exodus 23:32, Exodus 34:14.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4-6)

So it matters not whether Mary and the Saints are worshipped as gods, idols, intermediaries or anything else it still goes against God's direct orders!

jesus started the church, as mentioned in the Bible's Gospel of John. Before the Last Supper, he told the parable of the Vine in Chapter 15.

St Paul explains this parable in 1-corinthians 12 (verse 12).

This is fundamentally true, supernaturally, and by sheer-will of Christians cooperating. Many times in history, (I guess, "many") when a small denomination acts, it is to do the greater job of the whole Christians.

Perhaps , your catholic people, are more world-wise than you, and are protecting you from us, or vice-versa protecting us disciples-of-jesus from the Vatican.

Either way, the difference is the Liturgy (mass)

just as there are different "mass" within catholic church, there are different church-denominations, and yea.

Jesus started one true Christian religion. ( Not the Catholics)

So today there must be just one group, of true worshipers of Jehovah God.(John 4:23,24).

We see so many different religions that claim to be Christian.

How an we identify true Christians ?

A Christian is one who follows Christ and He said He does '...exactly what my Father commands.' *John 14:31

Catholics don't and most of what Catholics do is not authorized by God in the Bible.

Not anymore and not for a long time. By the time a group starts debating if Mary is a goddess, wants homosexuals in "for their gifts," decrees homosexuality is sin, but they can't help it, thinks it's fine if voodoo stays in the church, believes saints are equal to God for devotion, hides pedophiles for decades, and decrees evolution is right, they've long left following Christ.

There are many different religious concepts. People will always disagree with each other regarding this subject, but they should realize that no religion past or present have ever been proven to exist.

Yes, miscommunication happens. If you don't know what they mean ask for clarification.
