I'm gonna be straight with you. Don't believe it in it's entirely if you don't want too. You're a human with free will, yeah?
Anywho, I'm a Christian, in that I try to follow Jesus' message of peace, love, etc.
However, I generally don't hold the belief of Biblical inerrancy (the position that the Bible is without error and free from contradiction). The separate books were written by theologians over a span of centuries and translated over and over throughout the ages. Inconsistencies and historical errors are to be expected.
I don't take all the stories in the Bible literal. Some could be, but others are probably just symbolic, you know?
Like, I don't really believe the universe was literally created in seven days. I believe in evolution and all that jazz.
I'm not gonna lie though, I suck at math, which is a major component of science. Heh. But, still, science fascinates me. I really dig anthropology, but I like learning about astronomy/astrophysics stuff, too.
But I digress.
I think the Bible full of generally good advice (Hehe. You know, besides the Old School stoning and stuff; I'm talking more New Testament "love thy neighbor" and "do unto others" stuff here).
What was that quote?
"The Bible tells you how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go"
Galileo or someone said that... or something to that effect.
Anywho, I guess I'm done babbling. I hope there was something coherent in there.
