Do muslims worship the Kaaba in Mecca and why they kiss the black stone

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocC-tAl9tus

The Black Stone - Hajar al- Aswad - is NOT mentioned in the Quran. The Black Stone is located about five feet from the ground on the East corner of the Kaaba (this corner is known as "al-rukn al-Aswad").

While there are traditions about kissing or touching the Stone, its real significance is as marker of the point at which one starts the Tawaaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba as part of hajj or omra.) Even the traditions which talk about kissing or touching the stone are VERY CLEAR that the Stone is JUST A STONE!

MUSLIM:

Book 007, Number 2914:

Abdullah b. Sarjis reported: I saw the bald one, i. e. 'Umar b. Khattib (Allah be pleased with him). kissing the Stone and saying: BY ALLAH. I AM KISSING WITH FULL CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A STONE AND THAT YOU CAN NEITHER DO ANY HARM NOR GOOD; and if I had not seen Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) kissing you. I would not have kissed you. The rest of the hadith is the same.

The Stone is not be worshipped or regarded as anything but a marker.

The Black Stone has had an interesting history during the Islamic period. In 930 AD a ruler of Bahrain - who belonged to a branch of Ismailism known as the Karmatians - sacked Makkah and carried the Black Stone away for some 70 years until it was ransomed.

In the process, the Black Stone was cracked. It is now held together by a silver band. The fact that Islam was able to function without the Black Stone for 70 years is one of the best illustrations that it is but a marker for Tawaaf - and NOT an object of worship.

I easily have on no account examine something approximately dealing with the karba. inshallah this facilitates you. in user-friendly terms make ghusl with water, if u could wash correct then achieve this earlier, in a bathtub prefeblly as you shouldnt preform the ghusl in water with cleansing soap and purfumes ect

The Kaaba was ordained by Allah to be built in the shape of the House in Heaven called Baitul Maa-moor. Allah in his infinite Mercy ordained a similar place on earth

Qura-an firmly establishes the fact that Ibrahim was the real founder of the Holy Shrine.

When Prophet Ibrahim built the Holy Shrine in Makka, his prayers were that this place should remain a centre of worship for all good and pious people;

The Qur'an states that Abraham, together with his son Ishmael, raised the foundations of the holy house.God had shown Abraham the exact site, very near to the Well of Zamzam, where Abraham and Ishmael began work on the Kaaba's construction .

After Abraham had built the Kaaba, an angel brought to him the Black Stone, whic had fallen from Heaven. According to a saying attributed to Muhammad peace be upon him, the Black Stone had "descended from Paradise whiter than milk but the sins of the sons of Adam had made it black".

After the placing of the Black Stone in the Eastern corner of the Kaaba, Abraham received a revelation, in which God told the aged prophet that he should now go and proclaim the pilgrimage to mankind, so that men may come both from Arabia and from lands far away, on camel and on foot

It should be noted that Muslims do not worship the Ka'aba and its environs.

Prophet Ibrahim built this House for devout worship to one God. He told the people that this was a symbolic house of God. God does not live there for He is everywhere.

The single most important reason for kissing the stone is that Abraham and Muhammad, God's blessing upon them, had touched and kissed the stone and an acknowledgment that God had entrusted the 'corner stone' of His religious central focus for man upon that hollowed and sacred place.

When Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph, came to kiss the stone, he said, in front of all assembled: "No doubt, I know that you are a stone and can neither harm anyone nor benefit anyone. Had I not seen Allah's Messenger kissing you, I would not have kissed you." They pay their respects to the Black Stone in a spirit of trust in Muhammad, not with any belief in the Black Stone itself.

The circling is believed to demonstrate the unity of the believers in the worship of the One God, as they move in harmony together around the Kaaba, while supplicating to Allah.

Allah Almighty says: "And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating."

This glorious verse refers to a scientific fact concerning the system of the universe. Scientific discoveries have proved that we live in a huge universe that depends on revolution. The earth revolves round the sun, and the other planets of the solar system also revolve round the sun, each in its own orbit. Besides, most of these planets have moons that revolve around them, each, also in its own orbit. The law of revolution applies also to atoms, the smallest units of elements that cannot be seen even by microscopes. An atom is surrounded by electrons that move round the atom in an orbit. Since all matter in the universe-whether solid, liquid, or gaseous consists of atoms, this means that the law of revolution applies to everything: stars, planets, moons, animals, plants, sand, seas, air, and so on.This includes cells as well. The cytoplasm in the cell moves around the nucleus. There is a common factor between the orbital movements of all the objects referred to above, this is, and their revolution is anti-clockwise.

Contemplating the above lines, we come to realize that revolution is a cosmic law.

With a believer's meditation upon such a scientific fact, another image of revolution is brought to one s mind: the pilgrim's circumambulation of the Kaaba, which is a basic ritual of Hajj in Islam.

Circumambulating the Kaaba is a symbolic act of worship, whose wisdom may be hidden from some. It indicates the believer's utter submission to Almighty Allah alone. The pilgrims go to Hajj in response to the divine order that Prophet Ibrahim or Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) conveyed to people. This indicates that there is consistency between the obligations of worship in Islam and the natural laws that govern the universe, which indicates that they all belong to only one source, that is, Almighty Allah.

This proves the truthfulness of the call of Islam that there is no god but Almighty Allah. Thus, Islam is the true religion that provides humankind with a comprehensive view in conformity with the divine truth that is apparent in the natural laws of the universe.

It is a wonder that all the royal palaces built throughout history have been demolished but the Kaaba, a house built of mud and stone about four thousand years ago by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS) in a parched land is still upright and will continue to be loved by human beings until the Day of Judgment.

brother very interesting questions....Here are short answers for all your queries..not according to question numbers but provide you overall scenario..

1. Kaaba, no doubt it is a holy place, but we don't worship it. It was first built by Adam, raised again by Prophet Abrahem and Ismaeel on the same bases upon which Adam built that...even the roof was not built by Prophet Abrahem..only the four walls.....It is the first house for Allah on earth..and it is set for us as center of ritual practices..so we follow the command..

2. We move around kaaba in the manner Prophet Abrahem did that....and our Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) told us to do in that manner...7 times is specific for Hajj ...otherwise you can have more or less circling...no problem in it...

3. Events in hajj are specified at particular time and particular number of times..that cannot be changed..otherwise you are free to pray as much as you can.

4. The shape of kaaba is so...as I told you it is raised upon the same base on which Adam built that...

5. Regarding stone and destruction....It is not an impossible thing...let me tell you what you don't know...before last hour ....kaaba will be totally destroyed......by a man name jajjah..from Africa...

it is also written in Ahadith...

Even when Adam built that..it was not there after a long period...and Prophet Abrahem had to digged its base out from beneath the surface...

So no where it is mentioned that no one can do any harm to kaaba as it is house for Allah...yes but it is mentioned that when Allah wills he can destroy any so-called mighty force of earth force with even tiny creatures of His...

it is His will..whenever he want to show His might....and authority....

so, Kaaba is holy place, central place for worship , provides direction in which we have to keep our face during worship.....but it is not more holy than a life of a human.....you can find this statement in last sermon of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).....it is available online.

so if mulims don't even bother about more holy thing..like in iran iraq war, iraq kuwait war, and many wars in previous times, then how can you expect that they will regard a less holy place..

it is failure of muslims...as they deviated...and that is why you see rise and fall in muslim history...but not ups and down in history of Islamic teachings...and it keeps spreading..

Brother, Islam teaches to pray only to One God, Allah, the God Almighty, not any place or building. And it keeps human life and rights above all , after that comes other...If we don't follow it..then its our fault...

Jesus in bible said that...Hear O Israel, the lord our God is One God, this is the first commandment..

He again said that we have to worship Him by heart and spirit...

So we follow it.....others are secondary issues...

May Allah bless all..

Allah knows best,,

Ya Hayyo Ya Qayyum..

Quote from TroZoS

"second if god protected ka'ba then every body will join islam"

In the Qur'an it states Allah created humans for the purpose of worshipping him. Apart from the idoicy of a god needing worship, common sense would dictate Allah would do everything possible to get all the humans to worship him (he does need to be worshipped, after all).

"god sent his last religion and prophet"

Last religion? How many times has God changed his religion?? LMAO
