Satans were a type of angel/messenger who were given tasks by God that could be described as "devils advocates". They obstructed certain actions or conflicts, blocked people from going places, etc... Lucifer means Light bringer. And, being cast or sent down, had many other meanings rather than hell. Enki, who created a more evolutionarilly advanced man with his half sister, Ninti, Ninki, Ninmah, Ninhursag.( Lady of the Earth, of Life, of the Mountain)..the doctor of the Annunaki group of Gods who came from Nibiru to search for gold that was needed to construct a protective shield for their home planet. When collecting gold from Earth's water failed to yield enough gold, they turned to mining for it. This was arduous work, and the Annunaki who came to Earth with Enki objected, and started to revolt, Enki suggested using the hominids on Earth to create an advanced species who could serve as workers for the Annunaki. Ninmah with the help of Enki, genetically engineered an advanced species of humans, the Adam. It took a while to get it right, but they eventually created a version that was in their "image". They were literally the children of these two Annumaki gods. Enki's genetic material was used with the ova of the hominids, but they were then they were placed in the wombs of young godesses, and later, even Ninmah served as a surrogate, and breast fed the new humans. There was some chaos in the society of the first batch of humans who had hominid surrogates. This was part of the reason that goddesses where used for the subsequent created humans. It was the second group, after the great Flood wiped out the first, who carried and nursed by the goddesses. The flood was instigated by Enlil, Enki and Ninmah's half brother. He did not like the behaviors of the first group, and didn't have the connection with them that their creators did. It was Enki who warned the Sumerian version of an earlier Noah, Utnapishtim. It was he and his family who saved the "seeds of life", human life. When the second group was created, Enki and Ninti made them with the plan to make this enhanced version that could be leaders of mankind, future kings and priests, to uphold, and convey the wills of the Gods.
When the first new man (Hu.man= new man) was living in the E.din, the lush area between the Tigris and Euphrates, Enlil, still not too happy that Enki warned Utnapishtim, warned the new man, Adapa, not to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, saying that Adapa, the Adama, and Kawah would "surely die". It was Enki as the serpent( wise and "the puzzle solver", told them they would not die, and they could eat as much of the fruit as they wanted. They ate the fruit, and became like the Gods, knowing good and evil. They were banished from the E.din by Enlil before they could eat the fruit of the Tree of LIfe, which grants immortality. Back to the serpent, it was a creature seen as being wise, cunning, not evil in anyway. The oil from the fat of the Nile Crocodile, the Mus-hus,was very valuable, and used to annoint kings. The serpent or snake was, and is still used in the caduceus symbol of the medical field. That symbol with the entwined snakes, also represents the double helix of dna. This symbol was also representative of Enki.
There was a great deal of conflict between the Annunaki for their kingship. Both Enki and Enlil believed that they were the heir of Anu, their father. Their sons continued this competition for the throne. At one point, Marduk, Enki's son, was working towards taking over a few of the strategic sites in Sumer. To stop him, one of Enlil's sons. and a half brother of Marduk used massively destructive Awesome weapson(whose use had been banned), the Scorcher and the Annihilator. The council headed by Enlil, eventhough Enki objected to the extreme action that would destroy large inhabited areas, thus killing an enormous number of mortals, and everything in their cities, it was approved. Ninmah, and Enki continued to plead for an alternate way that would not kill so many innocent people. But, these "awesome" weapons were used, and the destruction was even more than what was feared. High winds carried the destruction to an even larger area than was expected. One Goddess, another of the group who cared deeply for the mortals of Earth, refused to leave her city, and perished with her people. Enill, his son Ninurta, and Nergal, Enki's son, were responsible for the widespread destruction that ended the advanced civilization of Sumer. In the Bible, a few of the cities are named Sodom and Gomorrah, and the reason given is that they were "sinning cities". According to the tablets and cylinder seals found in excavations of the Sumerian area, the reason was because the people in these cities, and towns, worshipped Marduk. The opposition spread the fear that if Marduk controlled these locations, it would give him enormous control and power that they feared he would certainly use. They justified the destruction of human(and animal life) by saying that the people who supported Marduk were guilty of opposition and defiance as well.
Through vast numbers of ancient writing found carved in stone and wet clay, cylinder seals, papyrus, paint or ink, identified by one name, or another, Enki seems as far away from a demon, devil than I can imagine. His association with the serpent has nothing to do evil, but more to do with his his being know for solving problems, creating all sorts of things, which includes the world on Earth, and even us humans. Another well known dynasty associated with dragon were the Pendragons. Not all were "Arthurs", but they were not demons either,
So, if Enki was/is our creator God. The God who was often vengeful, difficult to please, easily angered, and often destroyed populations, who instructed Abraham to sacrifice his son, made a deal with his "people to be his chosen people, but then let them be enslaved, was Enlil . The God who stood up for the mankind, tried to protect us, told us the truth, created us in his image, and cared for us, was Enki. There are really not any demons or devils here, but nice and not nice describes it better than good and evil.
