What is the dark side?

What is the dark side? How can one fall to it? How does it corrupt? Is it stronger than good? Tell me everything about the dark side? Tell me the myths about it. How does anger,hate,fear, and suffering connect to it?

I'm serious, this isn't a joke or mocking response. I want to make that clear. Now, if you want to know about the dark side, do this.



Get somewhere alone. Think about all the things that make you mad. You know all the sad+bad+unfair things in the world that you never think about? Think about them -- think about them HARD. Do this for a long time. Get really worked up. Now direct your dark thoughts. You'll be surprised how dark they can get.



Step two: never ever do that again. From this experience realize how much we can overcome. Just think, we could be that dark all the time. But we're not.



If you don't want to be happy, but not dark (i advise not being dark), compromise and be mellow. It works for me.

That's the side not facing the light.



Because of darkness you are blind and become directionaless and not know what direction you are going in. In that place you will listen to anyone and trust everyone even if they mean you harm. You cannot tell friend from foe. Bad from good. Right from wrong. Love from love. Kindness from hate. Healing from suffering. Why? Because all of these values become relative with no moral consequence. Anything you do is correct according to the way you are led in blindness.



Only in the light do you see the truth.

The Dark Side is the side that is more about the self, pleasing oneself, getting the things one wants, exerting one's will over others. The dark side is easier and more seductive simply because it tempts us to do what we want instead of what is right.



Anger, hate, fear and suffering lead to the dark side, because we can't feel these emotions unless we are wrapped up in ourselves. The light side is about letting go of "me" and living for the greater good, living for experience and the world, rather than yourself. Anger, hate, fear and suffering are all ideas discussed heavily in Buddhism.

The dark side is not stronger. It is easier, quicker.

one will fall if he/she becomes attracted too much to one or more of these so-called "seven deadly sins". although im not a christian, the concepts are acceptable and being taught in all religions. this is no myth, my friend. it's a HISTORY. mostly, it started with the loss of one's possession (wealth, love etc.) dissatisfaction ->fear->jealousy->anger->hatred. eventually he/she will be corrupted and willing to do whatever necessary to reclaim it, even in a devious way.

The dark side is evil. One falls to it by succumbing to satan who is darkness. The light is Jesus Christ who opens our blinded eyes by the darkness (sin, satan) with His light of truth. The light is MUCH stronger than the dark. "Greater is he that is in Me, than he that is in the world". This is The Holy Spirit who indwells the true christian who is greater than satan who is in the world. Satan stirs people up to doubt, hate, and skepticism about Our Lord so as to lure us away from Truth found only in Jesus and The Word of God.
