Question:
What kind of Christian music do you listen to? Jehovah's Witness/JW & Mormon/LDS are welcome to reply to this

I enjoy a variety of secular music and also listen to Kingdom Melodies (produced by Jehovah's Witnesses.) I've also listened to mainstream Christian radio stations, which I found boring and I currently (on occasion) listen to a Christian radio station that plays "positive alternatives." Again, I find most of the songs they play boring/uninteresting, with the exception of P.O.D.'s "Youth of the Nation" a very melodic rap song. P.O.D. are considered a Christian rap band. This is the only rap song I really enjoy listening to.

I enjoy the Kingdom Melodies. I like the Oldies (60's music), and listen to those a lot. I like variety in my music and have to be in the mood to listen to a certain type of music.

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. When picking out ANY music, regardless of how it is poppularly classified, a Christian, must use their own Bible based judgement. I listed to a wide variety of music. I'll try to find my list, hold on. Music performed and/or composed by: Yoko Kanno Origa The Dixie Chicks Weird Al Yankovic Avril Levigne Stevie Nicks Elton John L'arc~en~Ciel Kitaro Asian Kung-Fu Generation Anastasia Golovina Alicia Keys No Doubt Pink Goo Goo Dolls Steve Conte They Might Be Giants Tracy Chapman Vic Mignogna (who is often considered "a Christian" artist, and oft writes "Christian" music), Bach Vivaldi Natasha Bedingfield Fergie Dolly Parton Blu Cantrell En Vouge (well only 1 song that I know of by them) Shakira Destiny's Child, (as a Group, and as individuals) TLC The Beetles The Beachboys The Monkeys etc. Music from: The Phantom of the Opera Ghost in the Shell Fullmetal Alchemist Les Mes By no means do I like/love ALL songs by All, or probably Any artists, but I've found there's often one or two, from most artists I've listened to that I like. Also, by no means do I know the artist, nor know/agree with their personal lives. Though I've emailed/talked with Mr.Mignogna once or twice, and he seems pretty nice. I have ridiculously large collections, files, folders, playlists, etc. of songs from my own personal collection, and/or from sites like Youtube that I listen to during the day. Hope this helps. As for the radio, I listen to it quite often, especially a few that have contests. Over the years I've won: Several pairs of Free tickets to the movies A pair of tickets to an Avril Levigne concert (though I missed it) A pair of tickets to Hootie and the Blowfish A $500.00 propane Grill A $200.00+ digital Camera A DvD player TONs of free food About a dozen T Shirts, which I gave to a relative to wear at Dialysis. Cds A radio My first Lava Lamp A pair of special jogging shoes, and a foot analysis, esitmated price being $100.00. I NEVER would've gone if it hadn't been free, and I needed new shoes. Other great items, all from the joys of my local Radio Stations:D

Well, at this time in my life I seem to prefer music with no words... meditation music with soft, long, slow harmonies, made with long mellow tones. Ahhhh.....

I also listen to LDS music from lds.org, particularly the YW music - http://www.lds.org/cm/display/0,17631,7028-1,00.html, although some of them are specifically LDS, there are others that are just plain uplifting for everyone. For instance, "When Someone Cares" and "Look Inside" (my favourites).

I do have JW song book... I like collecting sacred music....

Do JWs have free mp3 downloads I can access, with words and music?

I also listen to good pop-songs, that have good morals. I don't generally listen to Christian music radio, because I find it mildly blasphemous to hear Jesus' name mentioned so often and in a way that could be flippant or insincere. That's just how I feel about it...

I prefer the classics, golden oldies, Harry Chapin, Enya, a lot of different music from different places.

Vaughan Williams was a self-proclaimed atheist and yet some of his music is very much suitable for religious expression (Greensleeves is a good example).

If something is labeled Christian, I generally stay way from it, mostly because I do not appreciate anyone using the Lord's name in a vain attempt to convince others that it is right.

That doesn't prevent me from appreciating Tennessee Ernie Ford, though, or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Depends on what one considers Christian. I love a few songs by Vic Mignogna, who is, by some, considered a Christian Musician, (hey it ryhmes:D)

I listen to a WIDE variety, inluding those you mentioned. I didn't know P.O.D. was considered "Christian". I liked youth of the nation.

I am LDS. I dont listen to much Christian music. Im not into the "spiritual music with a modern beat." I just try to listen to things that carry a good spirit. I listen to classical, and softer songs. I did, and still do like certain modern rock music, but its taken effort for me to not listen to it so much. I dont think its bad to listen to rock, I just choose not to.

I like The Gracemen, Jimmy Lindsey, Greg Nash who are local Gospel singers; and have CD;'s from various quartets at the Hyles Anderson College. By the way, I'm Baptist and not a JW or LDS, Praise God.

I grew up with "champagne music" also know as the polka from Lawrence Welk shows, as well as what is known today as soft rock and country.

My favorite is classical, it reminds we of many of our Kingdom melodies only with out the words.
