Why do Christians ignore the fact that god?

God advocates the killing of homosexuals and killing entire villages of homosexuals. The bible also says to stone your daughter if she has sex before marriage. The bible also says slavery is right. How can you believe in the bible when it advocates these atrocities? Believing in the bible is a package deal you can't pick out parts you don't like .

when it comes to rebellious teens it is legal to say they will never repent. unless they show an antitude of repentance, then mercy is applied. due process is the missing element that most unbleiverivers do not understand. it existed always. and of course there is always the condemnation of false wittnenesses

when it comes to the subjects of slavery, there are those that say slavery in the commandments of God was not brutal and if it was, God condemns those that practice unrighteous dominion. most of the unrighteous dominion was blacks upon blacks. indentured and contractual servitude was not always practiced by God in unrighteous dominion

jesus condemned false teacher, and false interpretations of the scripture, he also rebuked false prophets.

The Bible (in the Book of Leviticus), does not condemn homosexuals. It condemns people who engage in homosexual activities. There is a big difference. Similarly, there is no instruction to kill entire villages of homosexuals. Sodom and Gomorrah do not qualify even though Sodomize does come from the name Sodom. The people there were wicked in many ways.



Slavery is very controlled in the Bible. Every seven years, slaves are to be freed and paid wages for their service. If an owner injures a slave, the slave must be set free and compensated for the injury. If there is only enough food for one and a slave is traveling with the owner, the slave gets the meal and the owner goes hungry. There are many other restrictions on the slave owner.



As for sex before marriage, if it were by rape in the fields, the man was required to marry the woman and could never divorce her. If the rape was in a city and the woman did not cry out for help, then both were to be killed. Please note that at least two witnesses were needed to swear that she had not cried out for this execution to take place.



If you call these to be atrocities, so be it.

God incarnated (took on human body) to die for our sins so that we can go to heaven. now why was this necessary? well, remember the 10 billion seats from before? yep, they're all empty because everyone went to hell. there were only 2 people that went to heaven (enoch and elijah). so, God didn't want all people to burn in hell, so He provided a cure for this - He died on the cross for our sins and went to hell to pick "believers in Him during their lives on earth" to take them to heaven. now most people go to hell too, but christians don't. why? because God said that if you believe in what He did for you on the cross, and feel sorry for your sins, and stop sinning, you'll go to heaven.
