Question:
Should Christians go to nightclubs? Is clubbing a sin?

Nightclubs exist primarily for two purposes: drinking alcohol and meeting members of the opposite sex, most often with sexual activity in mind. Yes, there is music and dancing, but primarily singles in particular go clubbing to drink and meet someone. Nightclubs are of the world, and while Christians are to be in the world, we are not to be of it. Being of the world means to be interested in and desiring those things that appeal to the sinful nature.

If a Christian couple go to a club to drink in moderation and dance where is the sin?

When Jesus was at the Wedding of a couple, he did the host a huge favor by changing water into red wine when they ran out of red wine for the celebration. In other words, Jesus decided to help the festivities by creating more alcoholic beverage for the guests, so they could continue getting drunk and dancing all night long. I think Jesus would've liked modern day young people from all walks of life getting together to dance and drink and celebrate life. Jesus would not approve of you judging people who go to nightclubs, and he would not approve of your holier-than-thou pride. God would not want you to be a party-pooper. God wants you to enjoy life, and love, and dance, and sing, and have fellowship with people your own age, doing what is natural. You can't sit on a wooden church pew 24/7, hidden from the light and never going out at night. That's just weird.

I think nightclubs that include drinking, sexual activity, dirty dancing, and music considered to be vulgar should be off limits for Christians.

Not only would it be a bad witness to non-Christians, it also would be doing something God wouldn't approve of. Jesus repeatedly warns about staying away from drunkenness and sexual immorality.

Romans 13:13 says--

"Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy."

Ephesians 5:3 says--"But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people."

Not all clubs and parties are bad however, Jesus himself went to a wedding party where He turned the water into wine. If the party includes people just visiting and it is in an environment where there is only moderate drinking (not drunkenness), then I think it can be okay.

Make a tree good and it will bear good fruits, regardless of locations for parties. It is not what goes into a person with regards to what is consumed that makes a person unclean, for there is a time for a feasts in The Prophets of God. Yet, altogether become corrupt is written; also.

To the pure all things are pure, only Idolatry and sexual sin are The High Council Admonition to avoid. All things are possible, and God can be worshiped anywhere; so one was not to look down on anyone in these matters; for all have sinned; yet caring to rebuke one if one gets out of order in sins.

The sheep become scattered for some Shepherds do not gather along With Jesus Messiah; who is The Good and Faithful who is placed in charge of all of The House of God. Those who do not gather with Christ at every Word of God given, scatter the sheep.

Definition of sin:

Whatever weakens your reasoning,

impairs the tenderness of your conscience,

obscures your sense of God,

or takes away your relish for spiritual things,

if anything increases the power and authority of the flesh over the spirit,

that to you becomes sin,

however good it is in itself.

[John Wesley's Mother]

Based on that, probably not a good idea.

Most definitely a sin, this is the reason unbelievers can't tell us apart from themselves. Most so called Christians are out doing everything a nonChristian does. Be one way or another, stop bringing shame on the ones who truly love the Lord, and most of all stop mocking and bringing shame upon the Lord Jesus Christ.

I know I am ready for stoning by "liberal Christians" but I side with you on this one: it is SIN to go clubbing.

I had a recently converted Christian friend who tried to convince me to join the Christmas party in our Company. The party was going to be in a bar, so I said no. She insisted that I "should be the light" and join the group. But I ask you: how often can you "be a light" in a pub, a club, a bar?

John warns about loving the world. He said: ". If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

There is a reason why the LORD ask us to "be holy" and to consecrate ourselves to Him alone, to "separate the holy from the common". And this reason is not found in clubbing.

God bless you for the truth

I dont believe night clubs were specifically made for those two purposes. It's just a place to hang out and dance and have fun with your friends. Yes it might be sinful with the alcohol and looking for sexual activity, but that does not mean you have to participate in either of those activities, participating in those would be a sin. It is just a place for people to go and have fun.

I suppose everything except the bible is a sin if that is the way you want it to be. Life is full of choices, good and bad. I think god would like it when you dance, and alcohol is widely promoted in the bible. If you are going to bring people down when you go out, then please stay at home and read the bible.

Probably not a life-giving place... and probably not where a Christian, who seeks good and will sacrifice for it, should be.

What goes on in a night club? If you have God, you don't need that.

Lots of temptation also... put yourself in that place and you may end up doing what you don't want to do.

A Christian will never, IF TRULY CHRISTIAN< desire the things of this world. HE tells us we will be known by our fruits, our behaviors, our actions.

WE will love what He loves and hate what He hates, which is all sin, when we are submitted to Him in faith and love, knowing that Only He knows best.

We wont want any part of anything resembling Sin. God calls us to live in Holiness and live in righteous living, to be overcomers just as Yeshua, Jesus was. We are commanded to be like Him, and its not just a suggestion, Its a command.

We, who love and trust Him, abide in Him, lean on Him and Trust Him, will do as He shows us is the way, and want nothing to do with the wickedness in this world. Yes, we are living in this world now and we must live in Him, to be able to survive it and keep our peace, in a world of such darkness. But, when we walk in the Light of Yeshua, Jesus, it is easy to do so.

No, we wont be in nightclubs, or around drinking, or any of it, or gambling.

No, we will seek out His ppl to hang with , even tho we wittness to all ppl when given the opportunity and we love and forgive them that dont yet know.. we do surround outselves with others who walk in His light, so as to never allow anyone to enter in and try to put our lights out.

Takes strong faith to do this , and a full submittion to go.

Obedience leads to all blessing and allows us to hold on to our very free gift of salvation. we cant earn that gift or buy it. But, in scripture it lets us know if we dont obey Him, we will have that gift severed from us, as we will be severed from the vine of Christ, to whither up and die and be tossed into the fire.

I didnt write that. Its in His word, but I sure do belivee it. Look all thru History, even in the Bible, of what all happens to ppl who abandon God for their own thing.

May supposedly get by with it for a long long time, but in the end, they dont.

Wrong choices have consequences.

Gods choices have wonderful rewards.

But, all have the right to chose who we hear and obey and where we will end up.

God sends no one to hell, that doesnt choose to be there.

When they refuse to hear or follow Him, they are saying they want Hell.

Its their choice, and often you cant even talk them out of it.

But, we dont go where sin is.

God says He doesnt reside where sin is, adn He is gone, till the person comes back and repents and is with HIm again. He can forgive things, but often there are stil lifetime consuquences.

Ever know of anyone going to nightclubs that says they can handle it, only to hear of adultry later, and how it all destroyed their family. I have, and I have had it happen to me as well.

Consequences can be awful and that of a lifetime, even if God forgives it. Still ppl must live with those consequences, and losing the respect of your family, and losing all you have, is not an easy way to live, even with Gods forgivness.

We are to be interested in doing only Holy and pure things, and it sure isnt a boring way to life.

Living for Him is the most exciting thing in the world, never boring. Nor will Heaven be boring.

I pray all will hear what is being said by those that are His, and will begin to run to HIm in time to be saved, healed and delivered of it all.

God showed me a picutre once a few years ago in a dream, and it stayed with me. IT is the absolute picture of sin.

You know how the Bible uees the word dung, for animal poop, and for sin.?

God showed me this huge and I mean giant bowl of dung, and a huge spoon in it, and the devil hands it to us and presents it as wonderful, without the horrible smell, or any of what it really is and he says to us. EAT UP. and we run to it, to total destruction, but at the time it seemed very good, for awhile. WHile in reality, it was our ruin.

This is what sin is, a giant bowl of dung, that really smells awful, tastes awful, but that devil can sure present it as awesome. Just like he can come as an agel of light.....

Remember?

Your question is one that is interesting, and I pray ppl will hear you.

Ask more.

It is not a sin.

It can be unwise.
