Christians: Why do you worship wrong day?
?

Catholic Catechism:

"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?"
"Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath."

"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?"
"Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, by Peter Geiermann, 50.

"Sunday is our MARK of authority..... The church is above the Bible,
and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact."

The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

Possible answer: We are not under the law but under grace.

Paul has a massage for you:

"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? BY NO MEANS! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness." Romans 6:15-18

"So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.”" Matthew 19:17

"“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21

Col. 2: 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Sundays have become the TRADITIONAL day for worship in Christian sects. The reason for this is that Sunday is a weekly commemoration of the resurrection of Christ.

True enough some Christian sects view Sunday in terms of the sabbath and you are correct in calling them on that. What the Bible does teach is that we are not bound to a day of worship but we are to worship God in spirit and truth. We are free to establish whatever day for worship we desire, whether Sunday or Saturday, or Tuesday.

You seem to know a bit of scripture. I will teach the Law of the Spirit which is greater than the Law of Moses. The Law of the Spirit always goes beyond the requirements of the Law and is not permission to sin. In Leviticus 23 the Sabbath (seventh day) is the most basic and first commandment. Jesus the Lamb of God and the Unleavened mana from heaven was sacrificed on the Passover which is the next assembly. After the day of Atonement (Jesus' death on the Cross) is the Feast of Tabernacles.

Because God has made his dwelling in our tabernacle (our bodies) we now worship God every single day of the week with a solemn assembly on the EIGHTH day (Sunday).

"For seven days present offerings made to the Lord by fire, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made to the Lord by fire." - Lev. 23:36

Our bodies are a living sacrifice (Rom. 12:1) and the fire is the testing and trials of this life (1 Pet. 1:7)

You're going to base salvation on what day a person goes to church? Wow.

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

You lose your calender and lose track of your days due to illness, go to church on a Sunday...Man, you'd be miserable in hell because of that.

As Christ said, "you strain out a gnat but you swallow a camel."

You are more like the Pharisees than you are what Christ imagined His followers to be.

Edit: If the calender is not important and the weekly cycle is and this person lost his calender, then by your own rationale, a person could work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday would be the holy day then right? You're basing one's salvation on this?????

What would it profit to keep only one day for God?

Also, since there has been over 9000 years; do you honestly believe that the calendar is so accurate?

Good, then, because Moses did not come until circa 1332 BC...

Can peoples be born on Saturday? We just got here.

If one desires to keep a certain, for them it is kept for in accordance with what one believes, it will be done to them. Therefore, let's correct decisions concerning others. For does not the watch continue on The Sabbath? For an enemy my come at that time.

Exodus 20:10 however the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall no longer do any paintings, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or woman servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner living on your cities. Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all this is in them, yet he rested on the seventh day. consequently the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. what component of seventh day do you no longer understand

The seven day week didn't come around until 2700BC. Even the bible says the earth was created way before that. So, how can we know for sure since we have no clue how many days and years passed from the creation to the creation of the 7 day week?

I think people will get an A for effort since no one really knows when the seventh day of creation. Especally for those of us who don't believe the creation story really ment 7 earth days. Or those of us who support evolution from a common ancestor.

Actually, the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Also, we're no longer under the law if we're in Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is the end of the law for all who put their faith and trust in Him for their salvation. Also, going to church on Sunday is not worshiping that day. You can fellowship with other Christians on any day you please. It really doesn't matter one bit. But, beware! If you think you can seek justification with God by keeping the law, think again. If you fail in one point, you are guilty of breaking the whole law.

Hebrews all of ch 4

4:7 Therefore GOD again set a certain day, calling it Today,

when along time later HE spoke through David, as was said before:

"Today, if you hear HIS voice,

do not harden your

hearts." LORD of the Sabbath.

Jesus is the LORD of the Sabbath.,

Jesus is our rest through our faith in HIM.

And the Catholic church did change the day, but that's on them.

We need to pick a day to just worship through out the day to meditate on the WORD and pray.

But have constant praise in our hearts and in our mouths all

the time.

God hates Sabbaths:

"Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your worthless assemblies." [Isaiah 1:13]

God hates ANY Sabbath that is not done with a reverent and worshipful heart. Doesn't matter what day of the week it is on -- GOD DESPISES IT. What God REALLY wants is our love and devotion AT ALL TIMES.

It no longer matters what DAY your "Sabbath" is, so long as it is done in a meaningful manner. take a day to WORSHIP, not a day of to play baseball, watch football, or go to church to have a chicken dinner. God doesn't care WHAT day that is, so long as you do it in a proper manner.

Our Lord rose from the dead on Sunday. The Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles on Sunday.

I don't worship a day

I worship the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath

Obviously you don't understand the Church's authority. But why do you even care? -- You're not Catholic. Hell, if you're what you seem to be, I pity you.

Start planting bad seeds. We worship God everyday. The law was broken when Jesus died for our sins. Stop judging, these are the last days, at least people are going to church

We are not to reverence any one day over the other, not in the age of grace, where we are today.

Hello,

You can pray and worship every day as some Catholics do. They also have mass on Saturday as well so angles are covered for those of your leaning.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

The "catholics" found it fit to change time and laws. These matters rest in the hands of God, and by the way, God doesn't change. You can't make negotiations with Him.
