How do you know if you would not have sided with Caiaphas who was probably the one who presented the case of Jesus to Pilate. When Pilate sought to free Jesus, Caiaphas was likely among the chief priests who shouted: “Impale him! Impale him!” (John 19:4-6) Caiaphas probably urged the crowds to clamor for the release of a murderer instead of Jesus and was among those chief priests who hypocritically proclaimed: “We have no king but Caesar.”—John 19:15; Mark 15:7-11.
So dont you think there could be a Scintilla of doubt that you could have been swayed By Caiaphas & Company?

This is a very interesting question. Perhaps I should share a few thoughts with you before giving you my answer.

Let us put this into context. The Jewish leaders including Caiaphas had a position of power. The Jewish people numbered in the millions and followed these leaders of various factions; Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes. Jesus called them hypocrites for teaching "traditions of men as doctrine." Jesus and his followers were Jews, but they were a very small minority even by liberal estimates. So you had the majority of Jews following traditions of men and they hated this small minority of Jews who were attempting to cleanse their worship of "the only true God" whom Jesus serves. (please see John 17:3 and Acts 3:13)

The majority of Jews hating and persecuting a small minority of Jews.

Are you aware that the vast majority of religious leaders today are teaching "traditions of men as doctrine"? Are you aware that a small minority of Christians have discontinued following those doctrines and are in a continual process of cleansing their worship to "the only true God"? Are you aware that the vast majority hate and persecute this small minority?

Yes, Biblical history repeats. The doctrine that teaches ones soul leaves their body after they die and goes somewhere else is unscriptural. So is the doctrine that teaches that God has three personalities that can split apart and exist in three different places at the same time. There are many other traditions of pagans that the religious leaders of today are teaching as doctrine to the masses. But there is one worldwide Christian organization that is hated by those religious leaders and their devoted followers in their various factions.

Study the Bible and learn the truth. Leave off following the modern day Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes with their "traditions of men as doctrines" who are persecuting those preaching the good news of the Kingdom worldwide. One Christian organization is preaching the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom worldwide just as Jesus and the first century Christian organization did. Please study the Bible and learn the truth.

Of course, it's always easier to follow the "pack mentality." That's why many "fell away" from following Jesus when they saw the true cost. Even his own disciples didn't fully know what was going on at the time. (falling asleep in the Garden of Gethsemane, Peter's denial, etc...) In the end, the only one left at the actual cross was John. However it didn't mean THEY followed the priests forever. And many others came to faith after Christ's death. Because that's where the Holy Spirit comes in, and irresistibly draws people to Him. That's regeneration. Sanctification takes a life time, and can involve periodic doubt.

Sure, but so what? Christianity didn't even exist then, and now it's been around for 2000 years. Being a Christian now and seeing who Jesus really was back then (I'm assuming the Christian viewpoint for the sake of the argument) are two vastly different things. It would be kind of like the difference between appreciating Beethoven back when he was, say, 20 years old versus appreciating him today.

Yes, you are correct. The two criminals crucified with Jesus represents two kinds of people today. One who believes in Jesus correctly and believes in His water baptism and bloodshed, and because of this becomes holy and righteous, and goes to heaven. The other kind does not do this, but instead believes in his own thoughts, doctrines and religious idols. This one blasphemes God and curses those who believe in God the right way. The latter are in the majority today.

I might have sided with him but I am glad that he did what he did. If he had not, then Jesus would not have been crucified and we could not reach the Father or heaven.

The world could have been created out of nothingness.

But what I do know is that I side with Christ now. But you still have questions about who you side with don't you?

of course, nobody was saved then, and the apostles even

denied Him, and the truth is, as the Word states,

every time we sin, we crucify Him again, and that is

what is meant by "we ALL have sinned and fell short of the glory"

We are all GUILTY

good observation of yours !!
