Question:
Was Jesus a schizotypal like Jim Jones but had good timing where his 'cult' became a religion?

What you find with schizotypals is what is called metamagical thinking, a very strong interest in new-age beliefs, science fiction, fantasy, religion, but in a very concrete, literal form, a very fundamentalist style. Somebody walking on water is not a metaphor. Somebody rising from the dead is not a metaphor; this is reported, literal fact.

This topic came up in a series of lectures on Human Behavior Biology at Stanford...Thought it was interesting.

probably. i mean there's no proof he wasn't right?

and for those of you who dont know...

Schizotypal personality disorder, or simply schizotypal disorder, is a personality disorder that is characterized by a need for social isolation, odd behavior and thinking, and often unconventional beliefs.

that's interesting because form what i am aware the symptoms are :

the individual appears cold and aloof

Behaviour or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar;

tendency to social withdrawal;

Odd beliefs or magical thinking, influencing behaviour and inconsistent with subcultural norms;

Suspiciousness or paranoid ideas;

Unusual perceptual experiences including somatosensory (bodily) or other illusions, depersonalization or derealization;

Vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped thinking, manifested by odd speech or in other ways, without gross incoherence;

Occasional transient quasi-psychotic episodes with intense illusions, auditory or other hallucinations, and delusion-like ideas, usually occurring without external provocation.

How many of these relate to jesus? the overelaborate thinking certainly. Possibly illusions. thats interesting

A cult will become a faith the two while it is going to become so super that the contributors can now no longer be controlled and remoted, or while outsiders intermingle with its contributors and furnish them selection existence types. The LDS church replaced right into a cut back interior the start and while it moved to Utah. It grew particularly super as cults flow through fact it replaced into so bodily remoted. there are a number of thoughts of persons who tried to go away Utah being murdered. As non LDS human beings moved into Utah, LDS began to have techniques different than following the chief's orders. The leaders eased up on administration and allowed the contributors to become greater like outsiders. They eradicated polygamy. they're nonetheless interior the technique of 'mainstreaming', yet they have not been a nicely controlled cult for over one hundred years.

No , You have to realize he really lived and the things in the Bible really happened.

People have been trying for centuries to disprove the Bible and even though some take time. It has time and time again shown the Bible to be correct.

And he gave is life for us , and for a reason. He did not ask us to sacrifice our life for him just be obedient to God.

PS: In answer to the one below, Jesus said he and his father were same in thought and purpose ,NEVER the same person. He said the Father was greater and he added no exceptions to that.

Things like statements at Mark 10:17-19 - Matthew 24:36 - 1Co 15:25 -

Colossi ans 1:15-16 meant James Version)

15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:(note first Born! of every creature)

16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

You will note NOWHERE in the Bible does it say God the Son or God the Holy Spirit but it does say however God the Father.

And the temptations would have meant nothing if he were Almighty God

this really is another STuPID question.

Jesus is so very MUCH a real person. i myself am a witness of His Glory, i testify without apology, that He is very real.

accordingly, however, despite what i just said, the priestcraft idolatry of psychology would not hesitate to put the authentic jesus into a straight jacket and put him on antipysychotic drugs. if he were alive in this generation there is no doubt.

the people of his own generation "demonized" him as being the son of a fornicator. the prince of devils, and also having a demon. the very things psychology does today but in inverse definitions most expressly towards people of spirituality and mind that seek the spirit of the cosmos.

its all evil. both those that caused jesus to be crucified and those that would crucifiy all christians.

but then again, christians do the same things today as well. inversely of course

jesus was the son of God, predestined and foreordained to be the saviour/messiah/redeemer/judge of all mankind.

there are still many things that are true in the bible. and in other holy books that mankind does not understand. to put an entire diagnosis on jesus without an interview is most wholey premature.

in other cultures, even the demons of evil existence through tradtion have labeled jesus as being mentally ill, i doubt it has any truth in it, because the resurrected body is made without corruption, which includes mental illness.

I do remember a sign hanging over Jim Jones' dead body. This can be seen on the internet, "don't drink the kool aid". The sign said, "Those who forget the past are comndemned to repeat it." That is a very popular saying with another cult today called "alcoholics Anonymous"

Possibly, we'll probably never know. There were certainly many cult-like aspects to his early 'ministry', such as telling his disciples to cut off all contact from their immediate family and loved one. That's one of the first things a cult leader does when he wants to assert complete control over his flock.

No, cause you can test Christs ways and saying to be true and of the spirit. Jim Jones ways have been tested by other (rebellions) & it does not stand the test of truth and righteousness.

Jesus Claimed numerous times that He was God.

He never had other personalities.

He said He who sees me sees the father. Not I am me and my father. So he is not schitzo.

He proved His claims by countless miracles. including Him rising from the dead after 3 days.
