Question:
Why do Trinitarians ask silly and misleading about Jehovah's Witnesses?

"Is the "Watchtower" an IDOL? Isn't it revered even more than Jesus?"

Jehovah's Witnesses do not revere a magazine. They do not revere a building. They do not revere anybody but Jehovah and his son Jesus. Anybody knows this. But people like this asker repeated ask these silly questions. People like this like to obscure what Jehovah's Witnesses believe.

This is what Jehovah's Witnesses teach about baptism. Its from the Bible Teach book, chapter 18, page 182

"THE MEANING OF YOUR BAPTISM
23 Jesus said that his disciples would be baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit.” (Matthew 28:19) This means that a baptism candidate recognizes the authority of Jehovah God and of Jesus Christ. (Psalm 83:18; Matthew 28:18) He also recognizes the function and activity of God’s holy spirit, or active force.—Galatians 5:22, 23; 2 Peter 1:21.
24 However, baptism is not a mere bath. It is a symbol of something very important. Going beneath the water symbolizes that you have died to your former life course. Being raised up out of the water indicates that you are now alive to do the will of God. Remember, too, that you have made a dedication to Jehovah God himself, not to a work, a cause, other humans, or an organization. Your dedication and baptism are the beginning of a very close friendship with God—an intimate relationship with him.—Psalm 25:14.
25 Baptism does not guarantee salvation. The apostle Paul wrote: “Keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12) Baptism is only a beginning. The question is, How can you remain in God’s love? Our final chapter will provide the answer."

Why do these people purposely obscure what Jehovah's Witnesses believe?

Greetings,

It is not just Trinitarians but especially ex-JWs and other opposers of True Christianity.

It is constantly amazing to see what absurd and ludicrous claims that these people attempt to foist on those who are too gullible or too lazy to double-check facts.

Experienced opposers of the Witnesses learn not to discuss SCRIPTURAL truth with the Witnesses! Instead they focus on misrepresenting the organization and/or resorting to emotive appeals of personal opinion.

In fact, the individual who asked the specific question you refer to here is a good example of this type of argumentation. In one post he used five sentences and presented no less than twelve outright lies! And these individuals many times ultimately resort to the cowardly method of "Blocking" Witnesses from answering their questions because they can't stand to have their arguments resoundingly proved false and their outright lies exposed!

Another good example of this type of misrepresentation is Lil Miss sunshine's post here. In her post she presents at least 9 outright falsehoods which are all her personal opinion.

However, every one of this type of misrepresentation has been repeatedly disproved even on this forum!

The reason such critics do not address the accuracy of our current understanding with facts and Scriptural evidence from definitions and context is because they know they have no evidence to refute our real beliefs nor can they even offer a viable alternative interpretation. They KNOW they cannot refute our teachings because they are based firmly on the Bible!

When someone questions our current beliefs they always find that we can provide overwhelmingly sound and logical evidence to support our beliefs from Scripture.

So these individuals can only resort to illogical and baseless personal attacks because they realize how weak their position is.

The very fact that critics of Witnesses constantly resort to such ridiculous arguments and misrepresentations only proves that they realize that they have no real evidence against our beliefs.

Even more, this method of promoting obviously prejudicial slander only demonstrates the debased position of those who leave the Witnesses and turn to "beating their brothers" (Mt. 24:45-51).

When we see how weak, unreasonable, illogical, and downright false opposing arguments and beliefs are then we are even more convinced that have the Truth and are part of the True Christian congregation today (Dan.12:3; Mat.13:39-43).

Yours,

You should not forget that the Jw org required you to answer that question at baptism, about being baptized into the spirit directed organization. This question is to show your faith in that organization as the way. Isn't Jesus supposed to be the way? Yet at your baptism, instead of the words Father, Son and Holy Spirit, it's your organization. What can I say? Is it any wonder that people are thinking that the watchtower is an idol.

Maybe they're trying to make Jehovah's people look as though we don't really worship Jehovah God-the God of Jesus Christ.

I've been around Jehovah's Witnesses for 30 years now, and I've never thought of the Watchtower as an Idol-nor is it.

What I have heard for many years is: Little Children, guard yourselves from Idols.

It is really quite simple; Death ruled as king from Adam down to Moses. Then with Moses came the law covenant. Through the law covenant came Jesus Christ, and the releasing from sins. Then, came the Christian congregations with elders as shepherds.

The Watchtower gives spiritual food at the proper time to today's true Christians. It says in Acts 2:42 that people listened to the teaching of the Apostles.

So, the Watchtower is not an Idol, rather it's Jehovah God's channel to feed the Christan congregation spiritual food at the proper time.

Because Christ said these things would happen to his followers. Rejoice that by this a witness is being made on the behalf of Christ Jesus and Jehovah God almighty.

It's because they simply don't want to accept the truth of the Bible. They have been misled and accept whatever their religious leaders tell them rather than the Word of God. They hold fast to their man-made traditions, so it's difficult for them to understand why we teach what Jesus Christ himself taught. After all Jesus said: “You will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.” “Then people will deliver you up to tribulation and will kill you, and you will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name.” (Matt. 10:22; 24:9) I feel quite proud to know that I'm doing something right because people hate on JW's all the time by many different means.

Update: @Near Complete: It is NOT all about the organization. These are the baptismal questions that are asked: On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will? Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

Nowhere do those questions claim to give worship to the organization; it simply asks if the person recognizes that they will be IDENTIFIED as being a part of the organization.

Honestly, ANYONE can at somepoint ask a 'soft' query, designed to sway the readers one way or the other

As to Why someone does it .. the reason varies. In Ish's opinion, it's usually due to a lack of Actual 'case'/'point'

Nobody is obscuring what the JW's believe. It is common knowledge that you follow everything the Watchtower says or sit meekly by and wait for it to make sense. Even when it doesn't make sense, you do not question it. But, God told us to question those that claim to have the truth. We are to test them always. Not just once, not just twice, but at every turn. He tells us this because people hide lies in between truths. Everything must be tested. You say that I lie, but you do not go and check out what I have to say, because your organization tells you that it goes against God to question the so called "Faithful and discreet slave." Well, I call BS! You are following an organization with much to hide. That should be your first clue. You are taught that our questions are ridiculous and wrong to keep you from finding out the truth. Your organization makes facts out of assumptions (like Jesus being Michael- there is nothing in the bible that says that He is. Do you really think that statement would have just been left out? I guess it is hiding somewhere along with the one about Jesus' body disintegrating in His tomb?) These ideas are not in the bible and drawing conclusions and presenting them as fact is a very dangerous, wrong thing to do. We are not trying to obscure your beliefs. We are trying to give you the message that God has given to us. We are trying to get you to open your eyes and realize that just one source cannot be trusted. We are trying to help you to see that you are being fooled by the WT. We are trying to help.

Even Jesus had opposer's. ... Opposition is to be expected toward those who carry "The Good News of God's Kingdom." Matthew 24:14.

Ok then answer this one for me:

How are JWs not polytheists? Afterall, they believe that Jesus is 'a god' (John 1).
