Question:
Why is it those May 21st, 2011 Web site all speak of calculations derived from the Bible...?

...But when you start reading it, it sounds like an infomercial sales pitch, and they just won't give you the formula they used or where it's from?

If they calculated it, please provide us with the actual calculation.
Those of us who actually are mathematically literate like to know for ourselves how the calculation was made.
That's why I trust Newtonian physics.

Because there are no real calculations. The man behind the May 21, 2011 prophecy, Harold Camping has already been incorrect once and, therefore, is a false prophet. If he had lived in Old Testament times, he would have been stoned to death for making an incorrect prophecy. No responsible Christian leader supports his "prophecy" http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/01/01/BA8V1AV589.DTL#ixzz0bUY9WWOp

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The first century Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

I agree entirely... nevertheless for a miles easier intent.... The bible says we will be able to NOT realize the day nor the hour and that it's going to come like a thief within the night time. SO, if the "Good Book" says we may not realize... then I think we may not realize. Whenever the tip comes.. it's going to most likely be on an afternoon, nobody suspects... an afternoon not more large then some other day. Maybe 2PM on a few idle Tuesday. Secondly, as a Christian (Catholic) what does it subject? Aren't we as Christians consider to be regularly all set for the second coming, Christ's go back? Aren't all of us consider to be following God and in communion with him..therefore what does it subject if the final day is at present, the next day to come, or 30 years from now? Thirdly, as a Catholic Christian, I am SEVERELY skeptical of ANY new interpretations or evaluation of scripture which perceived to elude the primary two,000 years of Christianity. Particularly one's which handiest the writer learned and don't seem to be supported by means of the mainstream. IF this know-how was once TRULY meant for us to understand... how, why did it pass not noted by means of all earlier generations? Why did not the Apostles straight educate in this? Why was once it embedded for handiest Harold Camping to observe? Does this glorify God or Harold Camping? Does the man or woman offering this know-how have some thing to GAIN from it? (talking engagements, books, internet sites, regional ministry, and so forth. ??) Lastly, the quantity of predictions related to the tip occasions which were mistaken, thus far, is one hundred%. So some distance, there has now not been a unmarried RIGHT prediction, therefore the possibilities of any of those being correct is slender.. statistically. His prediction turns out range just like a Jehovah Witness prediction related to the "final iteration" which has been anticipated and verified mistaken a minimum of two occasions, if now not extra. PERSONALLY - As a Christian -- A) what does it subject? B) what makes us suppose THIS man is correct, verses everybody else, all earlier generations, and the Apostles themselves? C) What is the statistical possibility that he's correct given earlier "finish of days" predictions?

They can't give you a definite answer because they are wrong. No one can know the day or hour. there is a reason for this. It may be Feb 4 2011 and 5:07 PM here but on the other side of the planet it is a day later and in some places there may be a 2 day difference.

I believe (my opinion) because of the signs of the times it will be within the next two years.

Here is one of the latest signs.

Egypt's civil war is in Scripture.

Isa 19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

Isa 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Isa 19:4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

The spirit of Egypt is failing because they become exhausted by internal strife. The cruel Lord is the Antichrist.

It is also in Daniel 8:23 and 11:40-45

Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

Dan 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

Dan 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The four horns are Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Syria.

King of the South = Egypt

King of the North = Syria

The Antichrist is from Syria. See: Dan 8:42

Scripture says that no man knows when Jesus will return or the end of the world will be. Despite what Jesus says when He states that only the Father knows the timing of events, some men will attempt to figure it out.

There is nothing in the bible that is based on actual science or mathematics. Isn't it convenient that they won't reveal their calculations?
