She asked her husband in the upper caste: “Why don’t you pray to the God of the people over there across the river, and see what happens?”
He said, “What do you mean? Those are tribal outcast people. Our gods are the ones that can do it.”
She said, “No, they can’t. We haven’t asked that God. Ask Him.”
And the young man went outside, looked up into the sky. He didn’t know the name of the God. He said, “Oh, God, that God, the God of those people across the river. Heal and touch my wife, if you’re the true God.”
While he was outside, his wife came out. She had been touched instantly by God. She got out of bed, came out, and said, “I’m healed! Who did you talk to?”
He said, “It’s that God, whoever that God is!”
They called the people from across the river. They said, “Come and tell us: what is the name of your God?” They said, “His name is Jesus.” Then the people from the Hindu village said, “That’s the God we want to know.” And that opened up that anti-Christian cast Hindu village to the Gospel, and within a month there was a new church, a group of believers.
