Question:
I believe that religion is wholly personal. Any oppositions?

I feel like religion started out and is still to this day very stupid.
Allow me to explain:
I am Catholic, but that is of little difference.
Every Sunday we are supposed to go to mass.
In mass, we sing along to talentless volunteers who think that they can sing or play the piano/guitar.
That's very offensive to people like me, because I am a child who goes to music lessons and PAY for proper education. So you just don't expect me to go to Church and participate.
But that is just my opinion. BUT. That's the only thing that puts me off at Church. I really don't care for most other things (like what people are doing with their cellphones) during mass.
This concept implies for the general people :
The mass is basically not fitting for all people. You can't simply, it's just not feasible at all, for a religion which says that everyone is unique with their capabilities given to us by God (as they teach us)
(and that God wants us to USE our talents), grab all Christians under one category and shoot them off to Church every Sunday. Or it's a damn sin they say. THEY SAY.
Who on earth, tell me this, is given authority by God, to decide what one person's religious practicing methods should be? This is for the general beliefs (i.e not religion biased)
The Bible is so interpreted wrong it disgusts me. So I don't even CONSIDER it.
I am 16, and if you were born within a uni-directional culture (i.e let's go to Church son it's Sunday.)
this question IS NOT for you.

I grew up believing Christianity was a necessity. The worst part was the music that no one wanted to stand for but if one person did then everyone ALWAYS stood up for all of it and I hated the person who stood with actual rage. They KNOW that if they stand then others have to show they care enough to stand until it's rude NOT to stand for a 25 minute setlist of songs that sound like love songs (and at times erotic songs) but they throw god in there.

All the lines about getting on your knees to be surrendered to his Holy Might made me wish my sundays were spent without the imagery of that.

If you want a genial answer, you shouldn't ask this question on Yahoo! Answers.

Sounds like you are a rather bitter person who probably is not getting much out of church and that is OK with our freedom of religion. It is your family who is your problem. They have not given up on you.
