Seriously I say this a lot and want to know what the big deal is.
To me its like a prayer.
Car wont start "God-damnit" I am asking God to damn my car to hell. I actually ask him to damn a lot of things probably. But seriously how is this a big deal...other than the fact I dont really pray in any other context.
Anyways how is this saying blasphemy?

Nothing wrong with it. Geez, if we can't use our myths for good old fashioned cursing and whining, what good are they?

i could say that if I have been residing on my own, any authentic human or dogs aggression could be an excellent difficulty. on the instant, I also have a dogs who's nervous --nonetheless the worst she's ever executed is growl or bark-- and that i'm keen to artwork by that difficulty. in actuality, we've already made a superb form of progression on that front. Cat aggression could be a difficulty for me; it rather is why a dogs with a intense preycontinual could no longer likely be happy here. i will probable continuously have a minimum of one cat, and that i plan to foster cats sooner or later, so which you will locate the place that should be an argument. i've got had Shelties for 10 years; barking to me has develop into history noise :). in spite of the undeniable fact that it can be a good bigger difficulty if I have been residing on the city, as adversarial to the country the place in simple terms the family contributors and the squirrels can hear it.

If you are a Christian you need to stop doing this. God is not the author of confusion. He does not damn stuff or people and you are using His name in vain. Jesus did not damn anything- He did make a whip and drive out the false representatives from the temple because they practiced principles that were not godly. But you should learn to bless and do not curse stuff or people.

This is one of the most misunderstood areas of spirituality. First of all Saying G. D. is not blaspheme because that isn't His name anyway. You might consider yourself lucky because if you did curse your car in the name of God it might never run again. Probably for now its problems are caused by poor maintenance since anything you will curse you probably are not interested in taking good care of.

Now for taking the name in vain. Exodus 20:7 Taking the name of someone in ancient times meant calling yourself a servant or Child of a person. Taking Gods name in vain would be calling yourself Christian while cursing another person telling them they will be destroyed in hell because they do not choose to believe as you do. Now that's blaspheme. Saying God will do something awful to another as if it was your choice.

You are serious alright..but not to God....you know it is not a prayer..you take us all for fools here..and I can picture u laughing. It is highly disrespectful to say that term..but hey..you can say what you like..like all of us..judgement comes to all..you know what the big deal is...to others...but you want to come in here and just be like the majority..full of disrespect and mockery..I say go for it..what goes around comes around and none of us has to even answer u.u have enough of the same kind of puppets and pretenders in here doing the same thing.

Well, it is taking the Lord's name in vain, so it's breaking a commandment.

But if you don't buy the whole thing, then it's just a linguistic reflex of the majority-Christian culture you grew up in.

There is a certain phrase which means to fornicate but I really really do not intend people to go away and make love when I use the expression, sometimes swearing is just swearing.

Use a four letter filth word to express discuss don't use God's name in it's place, Hitler's name wasn't hated enough to be used in a cuss word.

usually one prays to god in order to help people, protect them, or wish for something good.

it's just sort of tacky to only ask him to damn things.

"Blasphemy? No, it is not blasphemy. If God is as vast as that, he is above blasphemy; if He is as little as that, He is beneath it."
