My Christian sister,
This is the scripture I keep in mind when it comes to dealing with opposers such as can be found here online.
(2 Timothy 2:14-19) 14 Keep reminding them of these things, charging them before God as witness, not to fight about words, a thing of no usefulness at all because it overturns those listening. 15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright. 16 But shun empty speeches that violate what is holy; for they will advance to more and more ungodliness, 17 and their word will spread like gangrene. Hy‧me‧nae′us and Phi‧le′tus are of that number. 18 These very [men] have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred; and they are subverting the faith of some. 19 For all that, the solid foundation of God stays standing, having this seal: “Jehovah knows those who belong to him,” and: “Let everyone naming the name of Jehovah renounce unrighteousness.”
(2 Timothy 2:23-26) 23 Further, turn down foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing they produce fights. 24 But a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, keeping himself restrained under evil, 25 instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed; as perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth, 26 and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one.
Today a few individuals are dedicated to attacking Jehovah's Witnesses and spend a large amount of time doing so. That is their choice, and they like us all will have to answer to the Supreme Judge for their actions. However it is best to ignore them. Did you have any younger siblings? I did. My mom and dad gave me strict instructions that I was to never lay a hand on them, even if they were trying to hurt me. If they misbehaved, I was to report them, and my parents would discipline them.
I had a younger sister who delighted in trying get me mad, to get my goat, and then she would tell on me if I hit her or struck her ( and believe me she deserved a beat down). My parents would discipline her when they got home, but I also got punished, because I had been given specific instructions NOT to touch her.
In a similar vein Jehovah has given us instructions as to how to deal with people who attack the Bible based beliefs we hold dear. We may be tempted to take matters into our own hands, to administer a Scriptural "beat - down" but that is not our job nor our responsibility, in fact our Father has given us specific instructions as to how to deal with these people. So if we use this website we should use to answer questions of people who truly wish to increase their knowledge, to improve their relationship with Jehovah God, not to wrangle with those who have made their wishes very clear.
Anything else would not only go against our Father's instructions, but also would waste time that could be better spent elsewhere.
How can we determine those who we can "instruct with mildness"? Well you have spent far more time here than me, and seem to be experienced. I leave that decision up to you, and your conscience. But as always we wish to approach Jehovah God in prayer asking him to give us the wisdom we need and the his Holy Spirit so that we can "know how to answer"
(Colossians 4:5-6) 5 Go on walking in wisdom toward those on the outside, buying out the opportune time for yourselves. 6 Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how YOU ought to give an answer to each one.
Don't you think that is a perfect scripture considering the name of this website?
