you are right sister, they have nothing better to do then tell lies about us and listen to people like the rev kip or unsilence lioness or some other liars with there slander then find out the truth about us. even on tv, many tv shows talk about Jehovah Witnesses also. they only know to call us brainswashed and a cult. they need to learn what a cult us and if our brain is washed, great so we can worship Jehovah better. there goes woody calling us names also. the more they talk bad about us the more we know that Jesus was right when he said he was hated and we would be hated also

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on religion.

I am not a Jehovahs Witness but you wouldnt slam the door in a normal persons face so why do it to them.

At the end of the day there is a lot worse people in the world that maybe you should concentrate on, there not harming anyone.

Being judgmental is not a nice quality.

Get over it.

Its amazing how many individuals hold themselves up as experts on Jehovah's Witnesses because they have studied a cult book or two. Yes, they spend hours, even years, immersed in cult material, but end up confused and knowing nothing about the truth. They "study" JW's, but not the Bible.

(John 15:17-19) 17 “These things I command YOU, that YOU love one another. 18 If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU.

(John 15:21-27) 21 But they will do all these things against YOU on account of my name, because they do not know him that sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He that hates me hates also my Father. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have both seen and hated me as well as my Father. 25 But it is that the word written in their Law may be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without cause.’ 26 When the helper arrives that I will send YOU from the Father, the spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, that one will bear witness about me; 27 and YOU, in turn, are to bear witness, because YOU have been with me from when I began.

(John 16:1-4) 16 “I have spoken these things to YOU that YOU may not be stumbled. 2 Men will expel YOU from the synagogue. In fact, the hour is coming when everyone that kills YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to God. 3 But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the Father or me. 4 Nevertheless, I have spoken these things to YOU that, when the hour for them arrives, YOU may remember I told them to YOU.

For he who said riddle me this, I say to you, my name is Kennard, in every language spoken it is Kennard, riddle me that!

My Christian sister,

This is the scripture I keep in mind when it comes to dealing with opposers such as can be found here online.

(2 Timothy 2:14-19) 14 Keep reminding them of these things, charging them before God as witness, not to fight about words, a thing of no usefulness at all because it overturns those listening. 15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to God, a workman with nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of the truth aright. 16 But shun empty speeches that violate what is holy; for they will advance to more and more ungodliness, 17 and their word will spread like gangrene. Hy‧me‧nae′us and Phi‧le′tus are of that number. 18 These very [men] have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred; and they are subverting the faith of some. 19 For all that, the solid foundation of God stays standing, having this seal: “Jehovah knows those who belong to him,” and: “Let everyone naming the name of Jehovah renounce unrighteousness.”

(2 Timothy 2:23-26) 23 Further, turn down foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing they produce fights. 24 But a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, keeping himself restrained under evil, 25 instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed; as perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth, 26 and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one.

Today a few individuals are dedicated to attacking Jehovah's Witnesses and spend a large amount of time doing so. That is their choice, and they like us all will have to answer to the Supreme Judge for their actions. However it is best to ignore them. Did you have any younger siblings? I did. My mom and dad gave me strict instructions that I was to never lay a hand on them, even if they were trying to hurt me. If they misbehaved, I was to report them, and my parents would discipline them.

I had a younger sister who delighted in trying get me mad, to get my goat, and then she would tell on me if I hit her or struck her ( and believe me she deserved a beat down). My parents would discipline her when they got home, but I also got punished, because I had been given specific instructions NOT to touch her.

In a similar vein Jehovah has given us instructions as to how to deal with people who attack the Bible based beliefs we hold dear. We may be tempted to take matters into our own hands, to administer a Scriptural "beat - down" but that is not our job nor our responsibility, in fact our Father has given us specific instructions as to how to deal with these people. So if we use this website we should use to answer questions of people who truly wish to increase their knowledge, to improve their relationship with Jehovah God, not to wrangle with those who have made their wishes very clear.

Anything else would not only go against our Father's instructions, but also would waste time that could be better spent elsewhere.

How can we determine those who we can "instruct with mildness"? Well you have spent far more time here than me, and seem to be experienced. I leave that decision up to you, and your conscience. But as always we wish to approach Jehovah God in prayer asking him to give us the wisdom we need and the his Holy Spirit so that we can "know how to answer"

(Colossians 4:5-6) 5 Go on walking in wisdom toward those on the outside, buying out the opportune time for yourselves. 6 Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how YOU ought to give an answer to each one.

Don't you think that is a perfect scripture considering the name of this website?

I find this question interesting .

As you know I was atheist .

When I was Christian I realised that what I was taught in the church was not what is in the bible. That plus life experiences made me conclude Christians are deceived & being used by their churches & atheists where the only ones who knew the truth.

I have how ever always been interested in the bible & I used to take great delight in questioning christians & using the bible against them , I used to laugh at how silly their answer where.

I even attacked JW's at times but I was not targeting them .I over stepped the line & upset one & he left the site because of me & even though I am a bitter & nasty old man I felt bad .I think because of how I felt I started to defend JW's .

When reading the answers to questions running them down ,I though these Christians are different to other Christians , they know the bible .I also noted may of the attacks where scripturally inaccurate , hateful , or just plain ill informed or ignorant & that made me pay more attention to JW's & slowly I realised that maybe the bible is correct & maybe there is a faith that follows the bible so slowly the change in me started .

To answer your question I think they are doing the work of Jehovah without knowing it .Their questions keep the Jehovah's Witnesses right in front of peoples faces on this site & smart people can see the hate even if they do not believe the JW's & wonder what are these people scared of ? They expose people to reading the replies by JW's hence giving JW's a great opportunity to spread the word of God .

I think people like UL really know the JW's are the true religion but are trying to convince themselves that they are not or they want to take as many people away from the true faith as possible because misery loves company .

The way some of the JW attackers act on this site I think you just maybe right , they turn hate of JW's into their own personal idol.

There are some sincere people like Lone(Go Lone!) and Nimue who have actually found the truth by seeing the difference between us and the full-time JW Haters.

If a person spends all his time reading only lies about us without comparing these with the truth about us then they are biased and choosing to follow the god of this system of things who also hates us.

No matter what haters do people all over the world are fulfilling this scripture:

(Malachi 3:18) ". . .YOU people will again certainly see [the distinction] between a righteous one and a wicked one, between one serving God and one who has not served him.”

They are seeing right before their eyes who really study the Bible, follow the Bible, obey what God commands, and produce the righteous fruitage only those blessed by Jehovah can produce.

(John 3:20-21) . . .For he that practices vile things hates the light and does not come to the light, in order that his works may not be reproved.  But he that does what is true comes to the light, in order that his works may be made manifest as having been worked in harmony with God.”

To sincere people out there the only genuine site from Jehovah's Witnesses is http://watchtower.org/

God has appointed us in His Church with a position of a '' witness'' not a lawyer nor a judge.

If you love God,I am sure you got to know Him by studying His message diligently and now are grounded in His word.In that case, let anyone say anything,it will never make a difference.

Be a witness or what they call an Ambassador and shine that light:like oil floats in water, the truth will always surface and can be seen-today or tomorrow.

don't be so quick to judge. I attended the public talk today in my area for the first time, and was very impressed. I wouldn't have gone there on my own, I had some JW's answer some very difficult questions.

Will I keep going there? I don't know, I have big decisions to make this year. Eternity is a long time to be wrong. I gotta get it right

but keep you all doing what you do.

and while I do look at the criticisms,I don't take joy in it or anything. I notice that a lot of 'exes' were hurt by other people or their families and they are not against the theology.
2010-02-13 22:33:45 UTC
I'm not JW, but I spend some of my free time looking things (anything) up online. I doubt we can judge such a large group of people, but we also can't say there isn't anyone out there that fits your description. Though I'm not sure what you mean by people that spend hours looking at wrong information on your faith, I think most of them are trying to get information and don't realize what they're reading isn't true. There's a lot of great factual and/or official websites out there, but there's also a lot of sites set up by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or presents their thoughts as facts.

I spend quite a bit of time reading articles on things I find interesting, but I don't idolize them. I just want to know what's going on in the world and understand what I'm not familiar with. There's plenty of people who go to the internet looking for answers and get fed the wrong information. Researching is easy to get caught up in, too, especially if you feel passionate about or intrigued by it. They may very well worship God in their own way but spend some time learning (even if they're misinformed) about other religions (or anything else).

I wouldn't say someone who spend hours trawling the internet, reading false information about history worships history. It's just sad that their time wasn't better spent learning actual facts.

But then again, your definition of idolization may differ from mine. I define it as putting it above everything else, before God. I don't know how different that is from your definition.

Oh blablabla. You left the organization... so what.

You left for your personal reasons, which had nothing to do with Jehovah.

People are just afraid of it and want to hang around with their "Outside" friends and play hop scotch and watch rated R movies all day!

We are the lowest in Christianity, which makes us above all and closer to our father, and beloved god Jehovah in this "World" today, because we aren't in it!

I expect people to hate me! and research this non-sense of misinformation which has lead to persecution.

That non JWs who expose your org false teachings are really just wannabe JWs?

LOL - Idolise you?

I think not.

But sadly you and your sheep all think the same so you probably dont even read what us "apostates" have to say anyway.

However, few do, and manage to see the real truth and walk away from your cult.

I think they are driven by the spirit of their god; used like pawns and manipulated to, hour after hour, follow a course set out for them by Satan. Jehovah's Witnesses and our organisation has become the center of their lives and in a similar way to how we read the bible everyday, pray and associate with lovers of Jehovah, they "study" lies and have an affinity with those that hate Jehovah and his people. Some of these people follow our every movement to minute detail (discussing our new song book, the latest Watchtowers, etc)...

An idol is something you put in God's place and dedication should be only to Jehovah. These people are dedicated to spreading lies and attacking our organisation and in a way, yes, you're right, they have put this opposition in the place where they SHOULD be worshipping God.

We should feel sorry for them.

I am not too bothered what people do, if they ridicule or use persuasion to draw me away from serving Jehovah it is wasted time on their part.

Unless you have actually read and digested the material, you cannot say with certainty that it is “rubbish.” The Watchtower has told you that websites that disagree with its doctrines are all misinformation. But the Watchtower also prohibits you (or any other JW) from examining the information. So you must place your faith in humans.

I believe so. It reminds me of something the teenagers used to say when my kids were teens.

They said..."Don't hate me cause you ain't me." lol

But for all of those who hate us, don't ! We welcome you with open loving arms. Jehovah loves all of his creation and He does not desire anyone to perish, but wants all men to have everlasting life.

You should really take up reading Bromley and his studies of apostates of new religious movements--I seem to remember that he actually implies that apostasy can be compared to a religion in of itself, with all its own social pressures and expectations of loyalty and such.

And just from experience, I can tell you that apostasy often becomes the person's new full time religion. Just take this guy for instance:

" WARNING TO THE WATCHTOWER RELIGIOUS RACKET

To the best of my knowledge their is only ONE unique ~ in cyberspace the ~ clan is all over the world we go back to medieval old English.

The point is any search pages shown here and there are TENS OF THOUSANDS are going to be 98% anti-Watchtower cult pages, as this is my (~) primary mission.

These are links made by me in a 5 1/2 year period all pages created individually and loaded up on the net by hand.

~

YAHOO SHOWS 75,000 PAGES

~

GOOGLE SHOWS 31,000 PAGES

Theses results are INCOMPLETE and UNDERRATED as the indexing is slow keeping up with me

I make dozens more everyday and NETWORK with other apostates ( this is the real scary part for you Watchtower) I actually promote other colleague links like ~, ~ and ~, ahead of my own home page ~

Theses pages are on countless different servers and are cached forever as long as the Internet exist as long as civilization continues.

We have IMMORTALITY yes the Watchtower lied when they promised me everlasting life, but I will get it anyway!

Watchtower I will haunt you from beyond the grave!

I guess the JWs of the Org never heard of Christian apologists. We are not here to idolize anything and we are here to defend the True Jesus!

Making up fantasies of this sort really makes me laugh! To say we are idolizing JWs of the Org makes me wonder how far-stretched an organization's mind can go with their wishful fantasies!

Isaiah 43:10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

Isaiah 44:8 "Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, [b] Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace

there will be no end.

He will reign on David's throne

and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the LORD Almighty

will accomplish this.
Consider this.....

I am trying to understand your assertion that there is misinformation being promoted, when your religion prohibits you from even viewing or discussing any of the so-called "rubbish".

How do you explain that conundrum?

Many of us have been personally affected by the lies of the Watchtower. Some of us were brought up believing the lies, and others were ensnared by flowery promises. Many have us have been cut off from the ones we love, even marriages and parent/children relationships have been severed. Now, if this were really "the truth", then I would forsake anything this world has to offer to follow it. But, upon close examination, it turns out that all the pain inflicted by following after the Watchtower leads to and even more tragic and permanent end. The Watchtower is bondage. Freedom is in Christ.

I'm sorry that our attempts to shed light on the lies you've latched onto appears, in your eyes, to be a personal attack. We are merely doing the same thing that well-meaning Jehovah's Witnesses do every week: asking others to re-evaluate what they've been taught.

Are you meaning to imply that an academic studying theology, who might from time to time touch upon your particular cult, by turns subscribes to, or 'idolises' each religion he encounters?

Could we extend this to suggest that he who studies the literature of the far right idolises the BNP, or the NF, or the KKK, as he does so?

Or is it just possible that your question is ridiculous, and somewhat conceited?
2010-02-13 20:23:14 UTC
Personally, I don't go in search of any information on the internet... I only need to pick up my Bible to see that Jehovah's Witnesses are being denied the privilege to be a child of God that will inherit paradise.

John 6:53-54

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 3:3-8

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Romans 8:8-10

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Acts 4:10-12

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

No I'd say its called research to gain knowledge! not to sound sarcastic but perhaps you should look at what we are looking at and realise that JW is a cult...no amount of me saying that will make a difference but God said to love Him with all your heart, soul, MIND, and strength! Its not a requirement to disengage your brain! by denying the faults of what organisation you are involved in, is not smart. I don't do it as a christian. by LEARNING about your heritage-(which you all claim is christian) you a) will grow in your faith b) will give you knowledge!

so cutting yourself off from information about other christian faiths is ludicrous! like i said, surely as christians, (def your claim, not others) you would want to learn about your brothers and sisters in Christ! just a thought...
