Hello Im a Latter Day Saint and was baptized two months ago and am a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood.. I have researched Mormonism for two years and I know all the teachings and everything I made sure i knew what I was getting into before I joined.. Anyway the Missionarys just came over and they basicley told me to stop telling other new converts the meat... And to me thats very dishonest and disengenuious... I was discussing with a new member how in the book of abraham how jesus is jehovah and elohim is heavenly father and how adam was the archangel michael.. To me very basic stuff but to her I guess it wasnt so they had to do "damage control" in there words what i told her is in the quadruple combination to me that isnt right.. To keep things from new converts... So they basicley came over to tell me to stop telling new converts the so called "meat" and to me that isnt even meat.. I have researched everything in the temple and saw the recoding and read the rituals

Each of us needs to learn line upon line precept upon precept. If you don't learn this way, many things get confused. You have learned, now you have the opportunity to help others to know what you know, be kind, take it slow and let them lead the way to what THEY are ready for. I agree, many of what you stated is basic, but maybe the convert is still on learning about Christ, his atonement, prophets and apostles, the restoration. Concentrate on what will help these new people work out their own salvation, and once they have a grasp on that, go from there. Remember, when you are teaching it isn't about your walk with God..it is about their walk with God.

Hope that helps

One the one hand, I agree with you. A church should not have to hide some of its teachings in order to attract new converts.

On the other hand, Jesus taught in parables. Why did He do that? Maybe it was to only give the full teachings to those who were ready for the responsibility associated with that knowledge?

You are one strange Mormon, David. One day you fight for Mormons and the next you question them.

They don't want you chasing away converts, and telling Mormon truth chases them away. I believe things of God should be out in the open. Nothing should be hidden, all doors wide open.

So do you hide things from people or do you throw open the door? Your choice.

Because they have a prescribed program for selling their product and you're out of sequence.

They don't want them to hear all that until they will lose almost everything if they just don't accept it.
